The Opera ghost's whisper

I do not own anything

Chapter 1

To whoever is reading this, my name is Julian Walker, I am an Architect. And this is a story about how everything that I used to know, everything in my life, changed forever on one fateful night.

You know, friends, there were a lot of mysterious things that happened around the world that past century. They were strange rare, but that didn't mean they didn't happen. The story I am about to tell you is one of them. And to tell the truth, I wouldn't have believed in them if I didn't see it with my own eyes. I was there and even still now, it still felt like a dream to me.

A nightmare, but I wouldn't want to forget it or even change one-bit detail about it for a better one.

Because that strange event changed my life forever.

oOo

" Julian, my boy, how are you tonight?" a langer man crushed me in a hug, crying. " man, I missed you so much."

" Russell, let's go of me, you are making a scene that I would rather not be in it," I said annoying with my best friend since high school. "oh my god, and you always wondered why everyone thought we were gay since high school."

" Juliana, you should light up a bit you know."

" hah, hah, very funny, don't call me that you big softy bear." I pushed him away.

" sure, sure, Mr. Grumpy, anyway, what do you think of my Opera house?" Russell asked me. " this will be my first show, and this event will be the re-opening Opera house's event."

" well, it is big and old, why didn't you repair it- is that thing going to fall on my head?" I looked up to the ceiling, it looked scary enough. "you can let other rent it to make a haunted house or ghost movie theater."

" it is not like I don't want to, my friend, but every time I tried to have someone help repair this place, something happened." Russell sighed. " like last month, Danny, the Architect I hired to design a new decoration for this Opera house came here and went home with a broken arm. He said he would never set another foot in this Opera house ever again. "

" and I am here to be the next victim?" I asked, raising one of my eyebrows. "really? I thought we were best friends."

" well…" somehow the big guy looked guilty. Every time he has that look, it means, I would say it means trouble.

" or is there anything else you want to tell me?"

" ah, well, look, Julian, you are good at music, I mean you are good at music, you can write a whole Opera in less than two hours, your voice is better than any singer in this world, you know everything that needs to know about being a composer, then why the hell did you choose to be an architect? Don't waste your talent like that, come and help me…" Russell said. " Rachel and I are going to have a baby, so I will need some help with this Opera house."

"I don't know why... it just... it didn't feel right, you know... I kept feeling like something was missing... wait a minute..."I blink," a baby?"

" yes, in less than seven months it seems..."

" you are going to have a baby?" I asked, raising my eyebrow. " in less than seven months…. That means the little one must be two months old at least….and only now that you tell me."

" well, I want to give you a surprise.."

" yes, you terrified me to death with your good news this time! So, planning the little one's name yet?"

"well, I don't know yet… but if it is a girl, we want to name her Juliana."

" very funny, Russell, do you see me laughing?"

" Yeah, I thought so, too. But Rachel loves the name."

" Like I would believe you, bald head."

"Well, those aren't the only reason why you are here. you see, today is your birthday…"

"it is?" I tried to remember if it was really my birthday… maybe it was, I was really busy lately so I haven't been able to read the calendar.

"you are the only man that wouldn't remember his birthday, anyway, today is your birthday, and I wanted to give you something special…"

"So you chose today to open your Opera house?"

"Well, not only that, tonight will be the first show … so I want to play something special… something like… 'Phantom of the Opera house…' " Russel smirked.

" Yeah, very sp…" wait a minute, did my ears just play a trick on me? or I just heard that Russell said the first opera that would be played in his new Opera house was 'Phantom of the Opera house'. " wait, Russel, you said… 'Phantom of the Opera house'? you mean as in…."

"yes, the original one. From your favorite author." Russell smiled. " I have to listen to your babbling about how great that opera was and how you wished you could see it with your own eyes one time…"

" oh my god, if you were a woman and single, I would have married you."

" then I am glad that I am not. And this is your ticket."

I looked down at the ticket Russell gave me. " box 5?"

"yes, do you know the legend of this Opera house?"

" the legend? of course, how could I not know. but what do you mean?"

"yes." Russell laughed. " they said that 'Phantom of the Opera house was a real story and this Opera house was where the tragic story happened."

"oh dear, I am so in love with you right now."

" I knew you would like this present I got you more than a black limo." Russell laughed. "you might even found the secret tunnel that the Phantom used to sneak around, since we couldn't repair this Opera house much so I think it was still there somewhere. "

" agree, this is the best present ever." I was so excited. "If I found it,

" Anyway, go on, and enjoy the show."

He is back…..

" huh?" I looked around. " hey, Rus."

"what is it?" Russel turned back.

" did you say something?"

" no why?"

"well, I…." I thought for a second, maybe it was just a misunderstanding. " never mind, go back to work, manager."

" no need to call me that, Jully." He said, raising an eyebrow before he walked back to the door that was for the manager only.

He is back….

Tell everyone…

Tell them…

The phantom is back…

I heard voices again, but this time I ignored them. Maybe it was all just an illusion.

oOo

After I found my box, I sat down and enjoy the show. The view was awesome, I would say, it was the box that closest to the stage, I could even see the actors' faces.

" wow, this is so cool." I looked around, this wasn't the first time I went to an Opera house but this was the first time I got to sit in a box.

He is here…

He is here…

Tell everyone…

Tell her… he is back…

" huh?" I looked around again, I was sure that I was alone in this box, then why did I hear those voices? those whispers….

I suddenly felt rather cold. " don't tell me this place is too old that it got…urn… impossible, I don't believe in those things. There is no such thing as ghosts in the world. "

I sat back as the show started.

oOo

" Christine, go… please just go and forget about everything, forget about me… but if you can find in your heart someway, please forgive my sins…" The actor who played Erik was quite good, I must give him credit for being able to sing such a high note, but he still needs to improve many things in his singing skill.

Every time I watched this scene I always felt more emotional than usual, people can see me as a tough guy who wasn't easy to let anyone see his tears, but watching this, always made me want to cry.

Then it happened.

Something happened.

When it has come to the final duel between Christine Daae and Raoul De Chagny, her handsome fiancée.

"Let's us go… leave this horrible place…"

Then everything happened so fast.

I could barely tell what was happening.

Everything around me was shaking. Chaotic.

Everyone was screaming.

Yet the only voice I could heard was….

A whisper.

In the darkness.

The whisper that leads me into a whole new world. Dark. Yet so templing.

You came back….

(End Chapter 1.)
