"Caroline, you shouldn't be doing that!" Bonnie shouted, as she entered the room, watching Caroline trying to stand up from the canopy bed.

Caroline shook her head. "I need to do this." She grunted, ignoring the pain in her side.

Bonnie shook her head in disapproval, and approached her. "No, you need to lie down and rest." She stated, stopping in front of her friend.

Caroline closed her eyes. "No, I need to help find my son." She stated, firmly. She took a step forward and nearly collapsed, grateful that Bonnie was standing in front of her.

"See, you need to rest or you'll start bleeding again." Bonnie scolded, glancing to Caroline's side.

"I don't care. I need to find my son." She growled out through clenched teeth, holding onto her friend.

"You are still weak, Caroline. What good could you possibly be to your son if you bleed to death?" She asked, in a reasonable tone.

"What if it was your daughter out there?" Caroline spat out, her maternal instincts kicking in. "Would you sit by while she was missing?"

Bonnie sighed, and lowered her eyes for a moment. "No, I wouldn't, but I would trust my husband to find her, and my friend's to stop me from killing myself." She stated, with a hard glare.

Caroline shook her head, and tried to move away from her friend.

"Caroline!"

Caroline looked up to the door, and sighed at the sight of her mother in the doorway. "Mom, I…" She began, but her mother shook her head.

"Get back in that bed!" Liz ordered, walking towards the two women, and helped Bonnie move Caroline to the bed.

"I need to find my son!" Caroline shouted, as they put her in the bed.

Liz shook her head, while Bonnie checked Caroline's wound. "Klaus is searching for your son, and he will find him, Caroline." She whispered, in a reassuring tone.

Caroline closed her eyes, and let the tears fall down her cheeks. "He's my baby, mom. How could they take a baby from his mother?" She cried, shaking her head against the pillow.

"I know, honey. I know." Liz soothed, and kissed Caroline's forehead. "We'll get him back." She whispered, as Caroline's cries continued on.

They had to find David and soon or else, Liz didn't know what would happen to her daughter, but she would wager it wouldn't be good.

Klaus stared out into the garden as he sat down on the bench just inside the gate. He knew he needed to be with his wife, but something was drawing him towards the gardens for some time. He couldn't explain it, but out here brought back so many memories of his son, of happier times.

It had been nearly two weeks since his son's kidnapping, and he was coming up empty in his search, and he hated it.

Two weeks, and not a sign.

Nothing.

Klaus bowed his head, and fingered the band on his finger. Just when he had found true happiness, it was being taken away from him, and he hated that.

His wife was on the brink of death, but with each day, she was improving. Still, he nearly lost her, and lost his son in the process.

He should have traveled with them. He should have thought of the possibility that they were in danger.

He stood up from the bench, and walked over to the rose bush his son had tried to grab just a few weeks ago. He remembered the laughter of David as he reached for him, and the smiles his son gave only to him.

Touching a single rose, Klaus swallowed down the emotion he was feeling. He had to be strong. Caroline needed him to be strong, and so did David.

"You should be with Caroline, Nik."

He sighed, and turned around to see his sister entering the garden. "You should be lying down." He replied, glancing to her swollen womb.

Rebekah smiled, and shrugged. "It seems we are doing the opposite of what we should, then." She replied, walking over to the bench, Klaus had vacated just moments before.

Klaus stepped forward, and helped her to sit down.

"I'm not an invalid, Nik." She replied, with a hint of stubbornness.

Klaus smiled, but it held sadness. "Where's Stefan?" He asked, sitting next to his sister.

"He's leading a search party for David towards the west." She answered with worry.

Klaus nodded, and propped his elbows on his legs.

"You'll find him, Nik." Rebekah whispered, touching her brother's back in a comforting manner.

"Sometimes I think I won't find him in time." He whispered, staring off into space.

"You will find him, and you know how I know?" She asked, watching him turn his head to her. She smiled. "Because you love him, Nik, and you love Caroline, and I know you don't want to let her down." She explained, with a stroke of her hand on his back.

Klaus shook his head. "No, I don't want to." He whispered, turning his head away, and standing up once more.

"Nik, you've told Caroline everything, haven't you?" She asked, looking down at her stomach for a moment.

Klaus nodded. "She knows everything." He concluded, folding his arms over his chest.

Rebekah nodded. "Then I don't think you will let her down, no matter what you do." She whispered, placing her right hand on her stomach.

Klaus sighed, and bowed his head. "She will never forgive me if I don't find David, and I will never forgive myself." He whispered, shaking his head.

Rebekah closed her eyes at the pain she heard. "I think she will, Nik." She said, opening her eyes.

Klaus shook his head. "No, he's our son, and I'm his father. I was supposed to protect him, and look what happened." He stated, whirling around to face his sister. "I let Marcel come in and take him. I was here, and Caroline was left alone to fight for our son!" He shouted, dropping his arms to his side, anger flaring in his eyes. "My wife could die at any moment, and it's my fault!" He shouted, pointing to himself, before turning away from her.

"Nik, whatever you think, it was not your fault, and I know Caroline doesn't blame you, so why don't you stop beating yourself up, and become the man who faced a tyrant, and get your son back." Rebekah stated, watching Klaus turn to look at her.

Klaus bowed his head. "You should get some rest, Rebekah." He whispered after a moment, and Rebekah saw the kindness in his eyes.

She smiled back, and moved to stand up. With Klaus' help, she stood up, and walked out of the garden towards her little cottage. As Klaus stood at her door, she turned to face him. "I meant what I said, Nik. It wasn't your fault, and no one blames you. It was Marcel's fault, and only his fault. You let go of the past, and he couldn't. That's why David is missing. Not for any other reason." She replied, touching her brother's arm.

Klaus smiled wanly, and leaned forward to kiss his sister on the cheek. "Thank you." He whispered, watching her nod, before she entered the house and closed the door.

Klaus turned around, and started towards the castle. He knew he had to see his wife at that moment, but before he could make it to the castle, the sound of hoof beats, made him turn his head.

He stepped towards the rider, and frowned deeply. "Vaughn." He replied, watching the Scotsman climb down from his horse.

Vaughn nodded, and grabbed the reins of his bay. "Your Majesty." He replied, bowing his head.

Klaus returned the bow, and waited for Vaughn to report.

"I believe I found Marcel's camp, or at least a part of his camp." He replied, solemnly, and by the look in his eyes, Klaus had a small reason to hope.

"David?" He asked, keeping his tone monotone.

Vaughn shook his head. "He wasn't there, my lord. The camp was mainly filled with mercenaries, from what I could gather." He replied, firmly.

Klaus nodded. "At least that's something." He whispered, turning his head to the castle. "How long with they be in that position?" He asked, lowly.

Vaughn shrugged. "I don't know, but they appeared to be preparing to leave in the next day or two." He answered, knowingly.

"Then we better alert the men." Klaus replied, a cold smile appearing on his face. "Vaughn, I want you make sure at least one of the men is kept alive. He may know the location of my son." He replied, pointing at the Scotsman.

Vaughn nodded, and watched Klaus turn on his heel, and quickly strode towards the castle.

He had a Queen to see.

Sophie paced back and forth in her room, trying to remember every detail of the location of Marcel's camp.

She couldn't believe that she couldn't remember. Her mother always said, she had a profound gift of locations, but at the moment, her mother's knowledge was running dry.

She paused to sit on the bed, and closed her eyes. Thinking back, she remembered a stream in the background, rippling through rocks. The trees giving way to a clearing, that was not very big, maybe only a yard wide. She remembered the constellations above the camp at night.

Opening her eyes, she smiled.

She had to tell the King.

Bonnie sighed, as she picked up her daughter from the floor. Caroline was right. If someone had taken her little Bellona, she didn't know what she would do.

Her daughter nuzzled inside the crook of her neck, and in a moment, she was asleep.

Bonnie smiled. If only the problems could be so easy to get rid of, by simply closing the eyes and drifting off to sleep.

She rocked her daughter in her arms, and walked to the large window in their room. Caroline had just drifted off to sleep when she left, and Bonnie was grateful that, during Caroline's stubborn streak, her side had not broken, much.

Her eyes closed, as her daughter let out a soft cry in her sleep. She turned and made her way to a small rocking chair in the corner of the room, and sat down, and began to rock.

Tears fell from her eyes as she thought of what her dear friend was going through. It was horrible, and to think if anything like that ever happened to her.

She laid her head back against the chair, and continued to rock her sleeping daughter.

How was she to help her friend? Bonnie was a healer, but this she could not heal. She wished she could, but she couldn't.

She lifted her head, when the door opened, and her husband entered the room. She smiled warmly at him, but her eyes still held the sadness.

Kol closed the door behind him, and approached her quickly. Bending down to her level, he touched his daughter's back lightly, before gazing into his wife's eyes.

"We think we may have found a section of Marcel's army." He whispered, watching Bonnie halt rocking, and sit up straighter.

"What?" She asked, breathlessly.

Kol smiled. "Vaughn found an encampment full of mercenaries, who work for Marcel. We're planning on attacking at sundown, to see if we can find David." He replied, rubbing his wife's leg gently.

Bonnie leaned forward. "Has Caroline been told?" She asked, searching his eye.

Kol shook his head. "Not yet, Nik was heading there when I decided to come and let you know." He answered, softly.

Bonnie smiled, and touched his face gently. "This is wonderful news." She whispered, leaning forward to gently kiss her husband.

Kol smiled and nodded. "Yes, it is." He whispered, kissing her once more.

Klaus touched his wife's face tenderly, and fought back the tears he knew wanted to break through.

"Nik?"

He smiled, when her eyes opened slowly. "Swan." He whispered, brushing her face with his fingers.

She sighed, and leaned in his hand. "I dreamed of David." She whispered, grasping his hand on her face, and kissed his palm.

Klaus swallowed. "Did you?" He asked, breathlessly.

She nodded. "Yes, he was home. You have found him, and brought him home." She whispered her voice sounding weak.

Klaus smiled, and bent over to kiss her forehead. "Oh, my Swan." He whispered, placing his forehead on top of hers.

She smiled. "I always liked that name." She whispered, opening her eyes again. Reaching up with her right hand, she caressed his face tenderly. "My Rogue."

He smiled, and let out a small chuckle. Lifting his head, he looked down into her eyes. "I have some news, love." He whispered, watching her become fully awake.

"What is it?" She asked, searching his eyes.

"Vaughn located an encampment of Marcel's. We're going at sundown." He stated, watching her eyes fill with light. "Caroline, David is not at the camp. Vaughn was pretty sure about that." He added, but her light didn't fade.

"I know, Klaus, but…" She trailed off, trying to sit up. Klaus sighed, as he helped her with her back against the headboard. "But, one of the men at the camp could lead you to him." She replied, with knowledge.

He nodded. "We are hoping, but, Swan, it might not work, there is always that possibility." He whispered, wanting her to be prepared.

Caroline nodded. "I know, Klaus, but whatever will happen, at least you would have dealt Marcel a serious hand." She replied, darkly.

Klaus smiled, and nodded. "That I will, my love." He whispered, leaning forward, and passionately kissed her lips.

"Hold me before you go, Nik." She whispered, as they separated.

Klaus smiled and nodded. Standing up, he walked over to the other side of the bed, and crawled on top of the covers to his wife. Wrapping his right arm around her shoulders, he pulled her securely to his side. He kissed the top of her head, and sighed, when she laid her head on his shoulder. As the sun started to fall down, Klaus knew he would have to leave her soon, but at that moment, all that mattered was holding his wife, and making sure that she would never be hurt again.

Aw, the calm before a storm, though not the BIG storm. There are still a few answers for you before that happens. hehe

I'm working on the next chapter as we speak, so it should be up in a few hours, if everything goes as planned.

Until Next Time...
