Please remember to review at the end! :)

Klaus stared at his sleeping wife with his heart nearly pounding in his chest. He moved his left hand over her body, and paused at the wound, which was closing up nicely. He frowned.

She would have a scar, but it would be a scar to be proud of, and he would always say it was a beauty mark. It was a sign of her love as a mother, and her strength as one and a Queen.

He traced the wound with his finger, and closed his eyes. Even with the small imperfection, she was still perfect.

He shook his head, and moved his left hand to her face. His right arm was the one he was propped up on, having him look down at his wife.

Despite the heartache they had endured, he still loved her, and nothing would ever change. He knew she loved him. It was that love that kept him going on through the days. The long days when the search for their son seemed fruitless, her love always reassured him that he would find David.

He closed his eyes, and sighed in remembrance.

~Flashback~

Caroline smiled as she walked through the library, waiting on her husband to meet her. Her hands were placed on her swollen stomach, and she couldn't be happier.

Nor more beautiful.

Klaus stood in the doorway, and watched her. Her long blue dress clung to her body, showing off the womb where their child was growing. Her blonde hair was down and curled, and her feet were bare. He shook his head. Even as Queen, she still refused to wear shoes.

"You should be resting, Swan." He replied, entering the room.

She turned around, her hair flying. "I think I've earned a little bit of exercise today." She replied, waiting for him to join her.

He smiled, and reached out to touch her face. Searching her eyes, he leaned forward and kissed her lips tenderly. She moaned in response. He pulled back slowly, and smiled when she followed him.

"My, my, Swan." He whispered, kissing her face tenderly.

She sighed, and closed her eyes. "My Rogue." She whispered, tenderly. She lifted her arms, and wrapped them around his neck.

"You are so beautiful." He whispered, moving his lips to her neck, and gently nibbling.

She titled her head to the side, and moaned. "You are such a talker." She whispered, with a smile on her face.

He chuckled, knowing she was kidding him. "You are such a tease." He whispered, in a sultry voice.

She shivered in his arms. "Oh, if only you could take me to bed." She whispered in his ear.

Klaus shivered this time. "Don't tempt me, sweetheart." He whispered, smiling.

She laughed, and then groaned, her body tensed in his arms. "Nik." She groaned, pulling back to grasp her stomach.

Klaus froze, but quickly recovered. "Caroline." He whispered, grasping her side.

She bit back a groan as she leaned forward. "I think it's time." She whispered, and tried to take a step, but failed to.

Klaus took the time to scoop her up in his arms. He felt a wet spot on her dress, and nodded.

"Nik." She groaned, her left hand on her stomach, and her right hand over his shoulder. "It's coming." She cried, trying to smile. "Our baby is coming." She whispered, biting back a cry.

They made it to their room, and Klaus set her gently on the covers. He cried out for Bonnie, and soon, Bonnie entered the room taking in the sight before her.

"Klaus, you'll have to leave." Bonnie replied, watching Klaus stay still.

Caroline shook her head. "No, I want him here." She replied, sitting up, and crying out.

Bonnie smiled, and nodded. "Alright." She complied, turning towards the door. "Rebekah, could get me some hot water and some towels please, and hurry?" She asked the blonde standing in the doorway.

Rebekah nodded, and ran down the hall.

During the time, Klaus and Bonnie had taken off Caroline's blue dress, and got her in a white gown, so she was covered. Sweat was beginning to form on Caroline's forehead, and Klaus was doing his best to keep her calm.

Rebekah came back a few moments later, and handed Bonnie the items.

"I sent word to the Forbes, and mother is downstairs. She's on her way up." She replied, glancing at Klaus, who only nodded.

Bonnie propped Caroline's legs up, and looked. "Alright, Caroline, you need to push." She stated, firmly.

Caroline nodded, and sat up, with Klaus' help. She let out a cry as she pushed, and felt her body tear in a pain she had never felt before.

Bonnie coaxed her through the labor, and Klaus held onto her with strong arms and encouraging her to keep going.

"He's almost here, Caroline." Bonnie whispered, with a smile on her face.

Caroline smiled and tilted her face up to see Klaus. "He's coming." She whispered, though they didn't know that the child was a boy.

Klaus smiled, and kissed her temple. "Come on, Swan." He whispered, helping her up, as she pushed one more time.

She let out a cry, and then slumped in his arms. A baby's wail could be heard throughout the room, and Bonnie looked up to the new parents with tears in her eyes.

"It's a boy. You have a prince." She whispered, watching Caroline laugh through her tears.

"A son." Caroline cried, as Bonnie and Rebekah cleaned the baby up, before handing him to his mother.

Caroline held her new son in her arms, and looked up to her husband. "We have a son." She whispered, smiling.

Klaus returned the smile, and kissed her lightly on the lips. "Yes, we do." He whispered, looking down at the now sleeping boy.

Caroline smiled with pride, and kissed her son's head, lightly. The light kiss caused the baby's eyes to open up, and caught Klaus' on instinct.

Klaus sat up straighter than ever, and the baby reached for him. Caroline smiled, and turned to her husband. "Here, mind his head." She whispered, handing their son to him.

Klaus was tense as the baby was placed in his arms. The moment his son was placed in his arms, something happened.

A profound feeling surpassed any feeling he had ever felt. He smiled and held his son close to his body, vowing to keep his son safe for the rest of his life.

~End of Flashback~

Tears fell from Klaus' eyes as he remembered that day. Next to marrying his wife, that was the happiest day of his life.

He felt a hand on his face, and he opened his eyes.

"I miss him too." She whispered, with tears in her eyes.

Klaus nodded, and averted his eyes.

Caroline sighed. "You'll find him, Nik." She stated, repeating the same encouragement she had been telling him for the past two weeks.

He nodded, and moved his eyes to see her in the soft moonlight through the window. "Would you still love me, if I don't?" He asked, searching her eyes.

Caroline opened her mouth, and reached up to touch his face. "How dare you think such a thing?" She stated, harshly. "I will always love you, no matter what. Nothing will ever change that, Niklaus." She stated, firmly.

He nodded, and smiled wanly. "I love you, Caroline." He whispered, touching her face tenderly.

She smiled. "I love you Niklaus." She returned, stroking his face.

He dipped his head, and kissed her lips softly. "Get some rest, I'm going to the library, and look at the maps." He whispered, kissing her once more.

She nodded, and smiled as he crawled out of bed, throwing on a white tunic over his bare chest and brown leather pants.

She rolled her head over and watched him glanced towards her before leaving the room.

Slowly her eyes drifted close, and her dreams were filled with happier times with her son and husband.

~Outside~

The man sneered as the door opened and a candle left the doorway.

"Her room is on the second floor three doors down."

He nodded, and entered the castle.

"What about the other one?" The other man asked, stepping into the light.

She shook her head. "She's on the third floor, second door."

The other man nodded, and entered the castle, heading towards his prize.

She closed the door behind them, and turned around. After a moment, she started up to her room, and stopped when she saw her friend standing in front of the door.

"What have you done?"

~Caroline's Room~

The door opened and the man smiled in satisfaction as he found his target asleep on the bed. Taking out his dagger, he approached her as she moaned, but lowered it when he caught sight of her beauty.

Shaking out of his trance, he raised the dagger above her body, just as her eyes fluttered open.

Caroline's eyes widened, as the intruder brought the dagger down, but she rolled away on the bed. She stood up quickly, her adrenaline was pumping through her body, and she knew she had to get out of there.

"Now, little Queen, this won't hurt too much." He mocked, stepping around the bed to her, waving the dagger in his hands.

She shook her head, and picked up the candle stick holder from the nightstand, and swung it at him, with all the strength she had.

He grunted, and staggered to the side, allowing her to attempt to run. He stood up straight, and ran to catch her, grasping her right arm with his left.

"Let me go!" She shouted, struggling in his grasp. "Who are you?!" She shouted, just as the door swung open and Bonnie, Klaus, and Kol entered the room

Klaus and Kol's faces froze as they caught sight of the intruder, but Bonnie was the one who acted first. Taking up her dagger, she threw it, and it stabbed the intruder in the right shoulder.

The man screamed and let go of Caroline, who ran straight to her husband.

"You bitch!" He shouted, pulling the dagger out of his shoulder, and slamming it to the ground.

Kol snapped out of the haze, and stepped forward with his sword in his hands. "That's my wife!" He shouted, stepping in front of his wife.

The man sneered. "I'm surprised that you would marry a gypsy!" He stated, stepping closer.

Klaus held his wife tightly to his side, anger building up in his body. "What are you doing here?!" He demanded, though he already knew. "Besides to kill my wife!"

The man chuckled. "That was the only reason. Kill your wife, and you become powerless, Niklaus. I thought it would be fitting, destroying the life of my bastard son!" He shouted, wincing as the wound on his shoulder pulled.

Klaus clenched his jaw. Caroline looked up at her husband, and her brow furrowed. "Who is this?" She asked, moving on her feet slightly.

"Mikael." He finally whispered, without emotion. "My stepfather."

~Jean's room~

Jean opened her eyes the moment the door opened in her room. She waited until the intruder came closer before she sat up, as fast as she could, and pushed him down.

The light from the candles in the room illuminated his face, and she took a step back. "Father." She whispered, as the man hopped up.

He stood up, and removed the cloak. "How is my little girl doing?" He asked, with his green eyes shining in the light.

Jean tensed, and placed her hands, protectively over her womb.

His eyes moved to the movement. "Oh, I see, you are going to have a little one. Is this one going to be a bastard too?" He asked, stepping forward.

She glared at him. "No, this is one is going to be a respected one." She stated, waving her left hand in front of him, as she stepped back.

"Oh, you married, well how about that?" He replied, coldly. "My little girl married, and I didn't even get a wedding invitation." He taunted, following her.

She scoffed. "You didn't deserve one, and I am not your little girl." She stated, in a near shout.

He smiled, and looked around the room. "Well, if you are married, then where is your husband, pray tell?" He asked, tauntingly.

She glared, reaching behind her to the chair, for her dagger. "He's on a mission, but he'll come back." She stated, proudly.

"Little Jean, always, telling lies. How could any man ever love you?" He asked, smiling, raising his silver dagger.

She shook her head. "Your little tricks will not work on me, father. My husband loves me, which is more than I can say for you!" She stated, as he lunged forward, and she sidestepped the attack, dragging her dagger across his face.

He screamed and his left hand went automatically to his face. He glared at his daughter, and grabbed her by the hair.

Jean grunted, and raised her elbow to his chest. With all her strength, she struck him, and he staggered back, but his hold on her didn't waver, until he flung her on the bed.

"I should have killed you the moment you were born." He replied, taking his dagger in both hands, and raised it above her body, as she rolled on her back. Jean shook her head, and raised her right leg in between his legs.

He staggered, and grunted, allowing her time to make it to the door and head down the halls. She paused, when a pain went through her, and she clutched her stomach. "Oh, no, not now." She whispered, rolling her eyes.

"Damn it, not now." She growled out, turning her head to see him running down the hall where she was.

She swallowed, and tried to run, but he caught her arm, and wrenched it behind her back. "You think you could get away from me that easily." He whispered, coldly in her ear.

Jean grunted, as he pushed her on the stone floor, scrapping her knees and the palms of her hands. She bit back a scream, as another contraction hit her.

He smiled. "I see I came just in time. No child should ever be born to a worthless mother." He stated, harshly.

Jean lifted her head, and turned it to glare at him. "I'm not worthless, and you can go to hell!" She shouted, as a sword ran through his chest, sticking out in the front.

Jean's mouth opened as her father died in front of her, falling lifeless on the floor. Her eyes rose to her rescuer, and she smiled. "Sophie."

Sophie nodded, and reached for her friend. "Contractions started?" She replied, watching her friend bit back a scream.

"It had to come when he showed up." Jean growled out, as they staggered back to her room. She shook her head before they made it to the room. "I can't make it to the room. It's going to have to be here." She growled out, as she knelt down on the ground.

Sophie nodded. "I'll go and get some help." She replied, standing up.

Jean shook her head. "No, I can feel her coming now. There's no time. Damn Galen!" She stated, throwing her head back in a scream.

Sophie knelt down in front of her, ready for what was about to happen next.

I know, leaving it on a cliffhanger, but I felt it was a good hanger.

I had expected Jean to give birth in the middle of a battle, but it seemed to have a mind of its own. Anyway, I hope you like the reveals, though some of you have already guessed one of the mystery men correctly. Kudos to you!

I'm currently working on the next chapter! (I'm in a writing mood today! Can't you tell!)

This story will have at least four more chapter left, five more depending on how far it progresses.

Until Next Time...
