Screams fell through the dungeon, causing several people to cringe. Only two people were present, besides the victim, and one was only watching with hatred. Amid the screams, a silent woman watched on, and tried to hold her tongue at the cruel way her husband was treating his stepfather. Though she knew the reason, for which she agreed wholeheartedly, she still could not bear the torture of any man. She supposed it was because of her humanity, but for this moment, her humanity was being stretched to the limit.

Mikael gripped the chains as the knife his stepson held scraped his skin. He looked down from his position and glared at his abuser.

Klaus glared back, and moved the knife once more over Mikael's chest, pushing deeper.

Caroline stood in the back of the room, and wrapped her arms tightly around her person. Her wound was forgotten, and her heart was pounding in her chest. When her husband had told her about his dark side, she never imagined this. Strangely though, she was proud, for this was something she could not do, and he could.

Mikael's body was covered in deep gashes. His skin had been partially peeled on his arms, and his legs had been dislocated from his hip bones, due to the rack.

She bit her bottom lip. So far, he had told them how Marcel had found him, and how he collaborated with him, but no news of their son.

She turned her gaze to the door, as it opened with Elijah entering quickly.

"Niklaus, there's news." He stated, glancing at his father, near death.

Klaus turned to see his brother, and then glanced at his wife, who smiled in understanding.

Klaus moved towards Elijah, before Mikael spoke up. "Are you too weak to finish it, boy?" He asked, in a mocking tone.

Klaus froze, and Caroline saw his eyes flash. Knowing what he was about to do, she touched his arm. He nodded, and ignored his father.

"What news, Elijah?" He asked, as they stepped out into the hall.

Elijah sighed. "Camille has disappeared, and Sophie has just informed me that she was the traitor."

Klaus' hands clenched at his sides, causing Caroline to grasp his left hand carefully with hers.

"Has she been followed?" Klaus asked, through clenched teeth.

Elijah shook his head. "No, she broke from her bondage and knocked her guards out before escaping the palace." He explained, shifting his gaze between the King and Queen.

Klaus growled, and turned away from them both. Reaching forward, he grasped the rock walls, and felt his body shake in rage.

Caroline turned to Elijah, and lowered her eyes. "Have Vaughn and Stefan returned yet?" She asked, quietly.

Elijah shook his head. "I have received word that one of them is returning, but I don't know who or what news he brings, but obviously it's urgent." He stated, glancing to his brother.

Caroline sighed, and turned to her husband for a moment before addressing Elijah. "Get rid of Mikael, and do it quickly." She stated, with a hint of coldness in her tone.

Elijah nodded in understanding, and entered the room, leaving Caroline to tend to Klaus.

"Klaus, we should go." She whispered touching her husband's back gently.

Klaus shook his head, and let out an angry sigh. "I failed." He whispered, pushing away from the wall, and started marching down the hall.

Caroline shook her head, and chased after him. "You have not failed." She stated, grasping his arm, halting his movements. "How could you have failed, when he didn't know much of anything about Marcel and David to begin with?" She asked, glaring into his eyes.

Klaus closed his eyes and shook his head. He scoffed, and started once more down the hall, only to have Caroline chase him.

"Don't you dare start shutting down on me, Niklaus!" She all but shouted at his back, causing him to turn and face her.

"It's been three weeks! Three weeks since our son was taken, and I am no closer to finding him than I was before!" He shouted, throwing his left arm around.

Caroline sighed, and shook her head. "That's because Marcel has been moving, Klaus. I have not given up hope, and neither should you." She stated, grasping his face in her hands.

"I haven't given up, Caroline." He stated, in a broken tone. "I just worry that you will lose hope in me." He whispered, avoiding her gaze.

She shook her head, and tightened her grip on his face. "I will never lose hope in you, Klaus." She stated, firmly.

Klaus sighed as he let the tears fall down his face. She may not be losing hope in him, but he was losing hope in himself.

Caroline shook her head, and wrapped her arms around his neck. Holding him close to her, she felt his arms lightly wrap around her waist. "You'll find him, Nik. You'll find him." She whispered, over and over again, hoping that he would come to believe her words as she believed them.

Klaus only nodded, and closed his eyes. One thing he knew for certain, he would not lose her hope in him, and for that he was utterly grateful.

The doors to the castle opened, and Vaughn staggered in, exhausted from riding so far and without rest. He leaned against the wall, and heard footsteps approach him.

He lifted his gaze, and found the King, Queen, Bonnie, and Kol approach him. He bowed his head respectively, and smiled wanly.

"We found him."

Jean rocked her daughter in her arms, and smiled as her daughter drifted off to sleep.

She had heard a commotion downstairs, but she couldn't leave the bed. Given her strength wasn't up to par yet, she stayed in the room with her daughter, little Sophie Anne.

The door opened to her room, and she lifted her head, and her breathe caught in her throat.

"Bonnie Jean."

Jean smiled at the look on her husband's face as he slowly entered the room. "Come meet your daughter." She whispered, motioning to the little bundle in her arms.

Vaughn sat down gently on the bed beside his wife, and softly touched his daughter's head. "My daughter." He whispered in a choked tone.

Jean smiled through her tears, and gazed up at her husband. "Happy?" She asked, watching Vaughn stare at their daughter.

Vaughn nodded, and turned his gaze to his wife. "I couldn't be more." He stated, leaning down to kiss his wife's lips. "She's beautiful, just like her mother." He stated, causing Jean to roll her eyes.

Jean shook her brown head, and gazed down at her daughter.

"What have you named her?" He asked, softly.

Jean smiled. "Sophie Anne." She whispered, tenderly.

"Sophie?" He asked, raising his brows.

She nodded. "Sophie saved my life, and we have made amends with our pasts. She also helped me deliver our child." She explained, lifting her gaze to her husband.

Vaughn swallowed. "I'm sorry I wasn't here, Bonnie Jean." He whispered, brokenly.

Jean shook her head. "You had to find David. I understand." She whispered, careful not to get too emotional in front of her sleeping daughter.

He nodded. "Klaus told me about your father." He stated, harshly.

Jean nodded, and swallowed hard. "Sophie killed him." She whispered, blandly.

He sighed, and kissed her temple. "I'm sorry I wasn't here. If I had been, then he wouldn't have even made through the door." He stated, in a dangerous tone.

Jean sighed. "No use carrying on, Galen. It's been done, besides the good news is, little Sophie is here." She replied, not wanting to argue at the moment. "What about David?" She asked, gazing at her daughter.

Vaughn touched his daughter's head, and sighed. "We found Marcel, and we believe we have found David." He stated, firmly.

Jean gasped and turned her gaze to her husband. "Seriously?" She asked, biting her lip when her voice rose.

Vaughn nodded and smiled. "Stefan is still at the position, but we found Marcel with that girl who arrived with Sophie, and followed them to an encampment. We saw a young woman from the distance holding an infant, which we assumed was David. Stefan sent me back, while he stayed behind to watch and see if they moved." He replied, watching Jean's eyes darken.

"That girl was the traitor." She whispered, though he heard her anger.

Vaughn nodded. "She is." He remarked, glancing at his daughter. "Klaus is gathering the men. We are leaving in a few hours." He stated, in a dark tone.

Jean nodded. "Caroline's going." She stated, not intending it to be a question.

Vaughn sighed. "She's insisting, but Klaus is refusing." He stated, remembering the argument they began before he left to come to his wife.

Jean smiled. "Klaus will lose that battle." She stated with a cock of her brows.

He smiled and nodded. "He will."

"The answer is no, Caroline!" Klaus shouted, as he glared at his wife. They had long since moved to the study, and stood alone in the room.

Elijah and Kol had left to get the men ready for the assault, and Bonnie had left to give them some privacy.

Caroline folded her arms over her chest, and shook her head. "I don't care what you say, Klaus!" She stated, in anger. "That is my son out there, and I'm going." She added, turning around to head to the door.

Klaus shook his head, and grasped her left arm, whirling her back around to face him. "Caroline, it's been three weeks since you were injured. You are in no condition for this." He stated, through clenched teeth.

Caroline scoffed. "I fought off Mikael, Klaus, and I was in the same shape as I am right now." She returned, harshly.

He rolled his eyes. "I'm not letting you endanger your life, Caroline!" He shouted in her face, causing her to move her head back a fraction before squaring her shoulders and facing him.

"That is my son, Niklaus!" She shouted back in his face. "I'm going!" She added, yanking her arm from his grasp.

Klaus shook his head, and reached for her once more. "He's my son too, Caroline!" He shouted, watching her soften her gaze. "And you are my wife." He added in a low tone. "I almost lost you once. I won't risk that again." He whispered, though his jaw was tense.

Caroline shook her head. "There will be guards surrounding me, Klaus. The entire time. I will be protected." She reasoned, searching his eyes.

He sighed, and closed his eyes. "I can't risk it." He whispered, letting her go, and turning away towards the fireplace.

She shook her head, and turned towards the window. Gazing outside, she took in the gardens below. "I can still hear him, Klaus." She whispered, tears filling her eyes. "I hear his laughter, and his babbling in his crib when I go there in the morning." She cried, bowing her head. "I can see his face, his smile, his eyes, every time I close my eyes, and every time I look at you." She sobbed.

She felt her body turn around, and being crushed into the familiar body of her husband. She bowed her head against his chest, and let the sobs from her lips be muffled against him. The tears from her eyes soaked his tunic, but he didn't care, as his arms wrapped around her, and held her securely against him.

"I hear and see him too, Swan." He whispered, kissing her head.

Caroline cried and held onto him as if her life depended on it. "I want him back, Nik." She wept, clinging to him. "I want him in my arms." She cried feeling tears from her husband hit her uncovered shoulder.

Klaus sniffed, and bowed his head to the crook of her neck. "So do I, Caroline." He whispered, though his words were almost muffled in the contact of her skin, but she heard him anyway.

They stood in front of the window, holding onto each other, crying on each other's shoulders as each emotion raked their bodies.

Caroline sniffed, pulling back from her husband. She lifted her gaze to his, and saw the emotion he left naked for her.

He swallowed a few times before he spoke. "Promise me, you will stay with armed guard at all times, and if you see danger in anyway, get out." He stated, searching her eyes.

Caroline swallowed, and nodded. "I promise, Niklaus." She whispered, knowing this was all he would allow.

Klaus nodded, and bowed his head, touching her forehead to his. "We're going to get him back, Caroline." He whispered, rubbing his forehead lightly with hers. "I promise."

She smiled sadly, and closed the distance between him for a searing kiss, which left them both panting, and it was enough.

Davina smiled as she rocked the little boy to sleep. Since she promised him that he would see his mother again, he had seemed to trust her. As much as a baby could trust. She sighed, as she looked up at the back of the tent.

A silhouetted figure stood or should we say crouched at the back. She clutched little David closer to her, as the sound of a knife cutting through the fabric of the tent was heard in the small space.

She opened her mouth to scream, until she saw a man with sandy blonde hair crawl through the opening. She swallowed, and held David closer.

"Whoever you are, you should know that I will do whatever it takes to defend this child." She stated, strongly, waking little David in the process.

Stefan stood up, and held his hands up. "Easy now." He whispered, smiling at David, who immediately recognized his uncle.

David smiled and began to reach for him, causing Davina to sigh in relief. "You're with Klaus." She whispered, letting David go to Stefan.

Stefan held his little nephew close and nodded. "I'm Stefan." He whispered, hugging David.

Davina nodded. "Then you better hurry and go, before the camp hears you." She stated, motioning to the back.

Stefan shook his head. "No, can't yet." He whispered, handing David back to Davina, who looked at him curiously. "Klaus is on his way. I have my orders to make protect the child, until Marcel has been taken care of." He stated, stepping back.

"Then why come in here?" She asked, following him to the back of the tent.

Stefan smiled. "Because I wanted to meet Alaric's niece." He answered, kindly.

Davina smiled, and glanced down at David. "I'll protect him." She stated, firmly.

He nodded. "I know you will." He replied, checking outside to see if anyone was around before exiting the tent. "Klaus will arrive in a few hours. Be ready to move then." He stated, glancing at his nephew before leaving the tent.

Davina sighed, and glanced at the little baby. "You hear that? Your parents are coming, little one. They're coming."

David laughed.
