A young man let fly a curse as he looked up at the solid wall in front of him, his plan to sneak into Ouran was already failing simply because he had forgotten to grab a ladder. But he was not to be deterred from his mission. He looked to his right, then to his left. Finding that coast was clear, he sunk his fingers into the gaps between the finely shaped stones and began to slowly scale the wall.
The infiltrator gave a triumphant laugh upon reaching the top. He looked out over what he could see and found himself both marveling and appalled at the extravagance below him. He found out just how soft and manicured the lawn was when he fell from the wall. He groaned but pushed himself up, he had to move one before he was spotted. He pulled out a small piece of paper and examined what vaguely resembled a map. He followed the planned route, making sure to duck into the shadows or behind pillars whenever he heard the giggling of girls, or the bantering of boys. With agility, stealth and a large portion of luck, he managed to make it into the right building and, after a handful of attempts, up the correct staircase. He finally paused before two large doors. He looked at the map and then at the sign declaring the room to be Music Room #3. He gulped and walked towards the doors.
The doors opened wide sending a breeze through the room lofting rose petals into the air. The young man hesitantly stood before the open doors as everything was over illuminated in light except the rose petals flying past his face. He began to think of why he even snuck into the school in the first place. Then his mind flashed just the image of flowing golden brown hair, and his nerves hardened. He took a deep breath then stepped forward. The lighting seemed to change suddenly as he now could make out seven figures in front of him. In the middle of the figures sat a brunette young man with feminine looks on a small chair that resembled a throne. Behind the throne on either side, stood two lithe red haired men, who were obviously identical twins. Standing out from them was a tall thin man with long green hair tied up in a ponytail, on the opposite side from him was a well fit young man with wildly styled bleached hair. Kneeling in front of them were two other young men, one was a natural blond while the other had solid black hair and wore glasses.
"Welcome to the Ouran Host Club." The middle teenager greeted him gently.
"Where we seek to fulfill your every fantasy." Added the blonde.
"Perhaps you like a little mischief or wish to be privy to the forbidden world of brotherly love?" The central figure said gesturing to the two red heads on either side. The one of the left gave a smile and a wave. Upon seeing this, the other twin put a protective arm around him and pulled him close, and gave a warning glare.
"Or perhaps you would rather be in the middle of a love triangle, being wooed and fought over by two very eager hosts." The black haired boy pushed his glasses up and gave a large sincere smile while the blond simply nodded in acknowledgement as if tipping an invisible hat.
"Or maybe you would like to achieve your dream and attach yourself to a rising star filled with ambition." The bleached hair boy blew a kiss followed by a wink.
"Or perhaps your fantasy deals with the magic of passion, the mystery of romance, and the occult of love?" The green haired youth showed there was nothing up he sleeves before waving his hands, a single long stem rose appeared then offered it with a slight bow.
"Or you might want to have a more personal and deeper connection with the natural." The twins added in unison, stepping to the side and bowing to the man on the throne.
The eyes of the young man shifted from person to person as he entered the music room. He couldn't believe he wound up in such a place, but it was the only place he could find the peace he was searching for. "Actually…" he stammered. "I came here for some help. I've been told you are real life savers."
"You heard correctly. We never turn away someone in need." Replied the leader.
"But it will cost you." The twins sang in unison.
The man sighed. He had nothing to pay them with, that was the issue that he had in the first place. Not only did he not have enough money for her to notice him, but now he didn't even have enough money to seek help. Defeated he turned back towards the doors.
The two twins let out a pained groan and bent over as they each received a simultaneous whack to the stomach.
"Ignore them; while they are great hosts, the twins nevertheless live up to their titles of devils and are rather mischievous." The leader said glancing at both of the twins. "They also don't know how act around normal people such as ourselves."
The young boy tried to figure out what the young Host meant when he said, 'ourselves'. They had nothing in common as far as he could tell. The school the Host attended and the throne that he sat upon told him as much. The only commonality he did see was they were both boys. "Will you help me or not?"
"Why not come in and discuss your problems with us, and we'll see where we can help." The leader answered.
The young guest was reluctant. Already the Host Club was stranger than the stories he had been told, and those stories were already farfetched from even the cusp of reality. His mind then replayed the sound of the laugh he so desired to hear again, it was why he had come in the first place. His mind was made up. No matter how strange these men were they were his only chance at having the relationship he so desired. He finally nodded in response to the offer and walked further into Music Room #3 guided by the black haired host to a nearby table surrounded by couches which individually were probably worth more than his family's modest apartment.
As the twins walked hand in hand over to the couches Hikaru whispered to his brother. "Homo?"
"Takes one to know one." Kaoru replied with a smile.
Hikaru let out a chuckle before a memory flashed only briefly in his. His mind hit the panic button; he froze in his tracks which soon stopped Kaoru as well. Kaoru looked back at his brother, and became worried at the mortified look on his face. "Hikaru, what's wrong?"
"Tamaki was right." Hikaru answered taken aback.
"What? Where did this come from? Right about what?" Kaoru asked hastily.
"We are just homosexual supporting cast…" Hikaru mumbled loud enough for only his brother to hear.
Kaoru clasped a hand over his mouth to suppress the laughter that wanted to roar out of his mouth. He calmed himself and pulled his brother over to him, "You know what that means right?" The twins looked at the newer hosts.
"Do you really think?" Hikaru asked.
"We'll just have to wait and see." Kaoru replied with a grin.
"Hikaru, Kaoru, are you two going to join us?" Haruhi called from a couch. "Or are you just going to rehearse for the other guests?"
The twins looked at each other, was she really giving them an out? Multiple ideas flew into their heads, grins growing on their faces at the multiple ways they could 'rehearse' before their guests showed. Then they heard the sound they dreaded. The sound of silence in the room. At that time they knew they really did not have a choice, somebody had to liven the room up, some noise had to be made, it was a music room after all. "Coming!" the twins sang as they turned and hustled to join their seats.
Author's Notes: Time to pop the bubbly and listen to "Shissou", the END is upon us. Here is the story end celebration, there's cookies on the table. Although I may regret that as recent experience has led me to believe that this will just make you want more. But oh well, this story only ends once. While there is the "special" chapter following this I wanted to put the notes here so the people that don't want to read the special don't have to go through it to see this. It seems to me that the epilogue now seems to raise new questions while answering a few.
Most importantly however, I want to let you all know that I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy lives to read my story. I hope that I have made that time and effort worth it. Thank you all so much for reading my first Ouran fanfic. Thank you to all those who have favorited and followed it, and a big thank you to all those that have left reviews. I know I have said it before and I will say it again many times in the future, but your reviews make my day, sometimes even my week. Even saying that does not do the feeling justice. If I could I would hug each and every one of you reviewers, but my arms aren't long enough to reach you. :( I have enjoyed talking with you all as much, if not more, than writing the story itself. I'm going to miss you all so much. I'm also going to miss Hikaru and Kaoru. Sure they're in my other stories but they are not Aftermath Hikaru and Kaoru. Does that make any sense?
Reviews:
: Because all good things must come to an end.
Yarrowvixen: Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it.
Daringly Delightful: Hope you find that they're worth the wait.
Ratty4949: Sorry, fresh out of brooms. :( All I have left is twincest, sweet sweet glorious twincest. Enjoy. :)
EternalFalsity: So I break some unofficial fanfic rules by releasing an epilogue early. I blame the twins, they're a bad influence.
