Chapter 4: The Knight Rescues His Prince
Lelouch is a genius strategist. After seeing his magnificent skills on attacking his first target, C.C. has no doubt about the young boy's intelligence. Yet, the young man is always able to impress her even further as he continues to capture more souls. It is so difficult to see what is actually inside the mind of this young man. He will complain and bitch about the hassle and the different personality he hates to play along with but he will always give out his best effort to save a person, his strategy will ensure they are leading to the best, perfect happy ending.
This time, however, is another level of difficulty.
Lloyd Aspund, one of the most powerful incubi born and has been wondering around the human world for more than hundreds of years. The neon haired witch often hears rumors regarding how "successful" the man is doing in the human world as the other sex demons in Hell admires and worships him. Honestly, she can't ignore the uneasy bad omen that is continuously happening to her.
The pizza delivery has mistaken her orders and it is a case which it had never happened before.
"You were literally shoving your mouth with 2 slices of pizzas while making the order. Don't tell me you actually expecting a human to understand your alien language?" Lelouch comments while he is conquering 3 princesses and a prince on his multiple game consoles, eyes unblinking while staring at the 4 screens in front of him.
"…" The movement of a certain witch's mouth pauses for a few seconds before swallowing the content inside the cavern and takes another bite of the sinful double cheese pepperoni pizza slice. Well, no one can explain why her clothes which she scattered around her room just vanished at night.
"I suppose when your consciousness is in deep oblivious, you don't notice the door was opened and the maid has taken care of the laundry." Lelouch comments again, then enjoys a long sip on his Earl's Grey tea and think deeply.
Brat.
…The house phone rang and on the third ring, the maid has picked up the phone.
"Master Lelouch, it is the receptionist. She mentioned a girl named Milly Ashford, stated that she is here because you called her to." Sayoko informs politely.
"Yes, Milly Ashford is my guest today, please inform the receptionist to hold her until I arrives at the lobby."
"Yes, my lord."
Lelouch ensures he has saved all progresses before finishing his cup of tea and walk to the linked archway which directs him to his own bedroom. The witch follows but she stops as soon as she reaches the arch. She already learnt her lesson the hard way. The raven is extremely particular about the no-food-in-my-bedroom rule.
On a particular good weekday in the Lamperouge Residence**, the raven's face was dark and pissed the moment the door opened. The first sight he saw was the said witch lying on his sofa and reading a book from one of his many bookshelves. The scene doesn't just ends there of course.
The witch was fucking holding a creamy, cheesy slice of his most hated junk food and it (the cheese drip) almost stains on his precious book. Lelouch Vi Britannia is screaming extremely loud ("The pitch is so high, it sounds almost like a banshee", quoted from a certain maid) while he is dragging, kicking, banishing the woman out of his private chamber, dumping the whole box of the remaining contents on her.
Lelouch removes himself from the comforting casual outfit and changes into simple and semi-formal attire. He even removes the unfashionable eye piece which he refuses to remove at any hour, except when he is going to bed. Seeing the young man is actually giving in a little effort to groom himself a little for the mere purpose of seeing this woman, curiosity strikes her immediately and she ends up following the raven to go down to the lobby. Who is this Milly Ashford?
As soon as the elevator reaches the ground floor and slides open the doors, they see a figure of a nicely dressed blonde haired woman standing by the reception, casually chatting away with the receptionist. It is the sounds of the two approaching figures' steps that attract the blonde haired woman to turn around.
"Prince Lelouch, it has been awhile since our last farewell at my graduation party. How are you?" She gives a polite bow as she greets casually, in Britannish.
"Good to see you again, Miss Ashford. I can see you are still the same old you even it has been a year since your graduation."
"Oh please, call me Milly. You sound like a stranger when you address me with such fashion." Milly Ashford chuckles playfully in grace.
"In return, please call me Lelouch when we are in Japan."
"Yes, your highness!"
Milly Ashford, the descendant of one of the Britannia's most ancient families.** It is even stated in the Britannia History textbooks that the Ashford family name already has a long history in Britannia's Business World that is even before they records the history of the country's first Emperor.
Lelouch and Milly is walking in the streets of Tokyo, heading to the raven's favorite coffee shop which is quite a distance away from his residence. The pizza-addict witch has made a smart decision of returning back to her pizzas after satisfying her curiosity of the mysterious Milly Ashford.
Prince Lelouch Vi Britannia's favorite coffee shop imports coffee beans from all around the world and all caffeine beverages are brewed by professional Britannian baristas. Their desserts, however, are homemade by professional Japanese bakers. The interiors are decorated with Japanese decors while the walls and furniture remains to be Britannish, just to match the outside of the shop. Perhaps it is to suit the way they choose to decorate the shop, they named the shop "Eleventh Britannia".
This shop is always crowded with customers of all ages of all races, especially Elevens and Britannians. The atmosphere of the shop is very magical; legend claims that the shop is enchanted by the Goddess of Peace. It can be caused by the harmonic decoration and design of the mixture of two different cultures. There are a lot of rumors saying that many strangers of Elevens or Britannians encounters each other inside the shop and they will be suddenly connected by a twist of event. When they realize it, they are already happily chatting with each other, walking out of the shop as new friends.
"This is sooooooooo good! Lelouch, I owe you one for introducing me here!"
Milly repeats the same sentence for the 5th time as she leaves her seat for the 6th time to get another cake from the counter. Lelouch has suggested a strawberry sponge cake for her 15 minutes ago while he orders his favorite, Café au lait. He hasn't even touch his coffee yet and the blonde haired woman has already devoured 5 different flavors of cakes in the shop, leaving the last flavor left untasted.
The raven is far too impressed by the girl's sudden love towards Japanese sweets. Well, if she is really addicted to the cakes, then he will have another ace card up in his sleeve to request for her full cooperation on his conquest on Lloyd Aspund.
"The shop makes different cakes every day, total of 7 cakes in a day, but sometimes they will repeat making some of them again the day after, only if the cake got sold out too early on the day." Lelouch explains to her as she greedily eats her new order.
"Oh my god… I am already addicted to these babies! I must have at least one of them a day to be alive!"
"You can."
"Pardon?"
"I said you can."
"Oh Lulu, you know very well I can't." Milly wipes the icing away with a napkin in elegance which she lacks of earlier while Lelouch's frowns at the nickname given by the blonde. Her blue eyes darken with sadness while she gives a numb yet beautiful smile. "Being the only child born in the Ashford family and the only heir, I am not allowed to live outside Britannia."
"You do realize you don't exactly have to immigrate to Japan…or Eleven. You can tell your grandfather that you are going to complete your pre-university course here in Ashford Academy." As soon as the raven finishes his sentence, the smile on the woman's face widens into a huge grin.
"You are absolutely right!" Milly claps her hands in delight. "I am going to suggest this to my grandfather. There is no reason for him to say no!"
"Milly…"
"Well, I should first get a few of these cakes to my grandfather to please him first and then I should convince him to allow me transferred here."
"Milly…" Lelouch tries again but the girl is already gracing her way to the counter.
"Oh my! Look at the time! I better go now. You know how long it takes to reach back to Britannia by a Knightmare**. I should leave now so that I will be able to see him by dinner. It is a real pleasure to see you again, Lelouch. See you again next time. I love you!"
I don't love you! And he regrets choosing her to be his puppet but there is no turning back now, he can't think of a substitute in such a limited time and there is not enough time for him to predict the love progression. Lelouch gives a defeated sigh and takes a sip on his caffeine beverage. His frustration calms down as soon as his tongue savors the delicious taste of his coffee that is made to perfection.
He hits a few game shops after his coffee break. By the time he is sated with his long hours of browsing and large purchases, it is already night time. Lelouch Lamperouge whom has never been outside the house during dark hours, is absolutely awed by the nightlife in the bars, restaurants, clubs and even in the streets.
The fun atmosphere attracts his attention anywhere he goes…and also trouble.
"LELOUCH!"
The raven jumps and stops dead on his tracks when he hears a familiar voice screaming his name, behind his back. Then, the voice is following with the sounds of punching and kicking, then the groaning of pain… The raven turns back and to his surprise, he sees a familiar young brunet surrounding 5 strangers, lying on the ground, moaning in pain and painfully twisting their body, attempting to get up.
"If you fucking dare to touch him again, I will definitely break your limbs."
Lelouch can't see his eyes since he is wearing dark shades. However, his instincts tell him that the brunet is definitely pissed off. More importantly, what is he doing here? The last time they see each other is when the brunet has wishing good luck and farewell to each other. The raven is coming to Japan for studies and "culture exchange". The brunet who is also known as the Knight of Rounds' Knight of Seven, is sent to European Union to revenge on the terrorist attack on the decreased Ashford couple.
"Suzaku…?"

**Lamperouge Residence is actually referring to the entire tall residential building and the highest floor is the home of Lelouch Lamperouge. There are a total of 10 available residential floors while the bottom 5 floors (ground floor not included, and it is being used as the lobby) are rent out to public to be converted to offices, restaurants, gym, and others. By the way, Sayoko is living in one of the apartments on the 2nd highest floor.
**Ashford is one of the oldest family names in Britannia. The oldest record of the family's history is even before Britannia exists. Milly Ashford is possibly the last descendant since her parents has sacrificed themselves to save her in a tragic terrorist activity in the past.
**Yes, Knightmares as in Knightmare Frames in the manga/anime. They are private transportations and as well as weapons in this world. Any Britannian or Honory Britannian (not a member of any knights of honors) whose age is over the age of 18 is legible to go for the trainings. Members of knights of honors are automatically legible to go for the trainings nevertheless of what age he or she is when they are knighted.
