It felt so perfect.
She was more beautiful than ever.
It was then paradise ended after she pulled away from.
"I-I'm-" She stuttered and her eyes formed a sudden stare.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Pinkman." "Gia, it's fine. I liked it."
I reassured her and I touched her shoulders.
"No! It's not fine! This isn't okay!" "Why are you shouting?" "Just leave." She stood up from her chair and began to walk to her front door, assuming I would follow her. "No, Gia! We're not going to forget about this!"
"Yes, we are!" Her hand was placed at the doorknob. "I've seen Lifetime movies, I know how this stuff ends." "What could happen?" I ask her. "You lose your profession and colleges refuse to accept me."
I took a step back and I begin to realize how selfish of me that would be. Gianna worked so hard to be where she is. I can't fuck this up for her. But I was just so attracted to her like a magnet. I was silent for a moment. "Goodbye." She spoke to me. I left and headed back to my house, where I'm myself. I parked in a one-story dump.
Okay, it's not a total dump. I just rarely take care of myself. I lock my vehicle and enter my place. I had a friend before. I think he was my only friend. I guess I could tell you about him for a while even though I said I wouldn't. His name was Walter White. We cooked meth together and made a ton of money.
A lot of shit went down after. Unfortunately, he passed away a while back. I throw my keys on my counter. My lips felt paralyzed after kissing Gia. I just wanted to embrace her again. I find my book safe on the shelf as it said, "HOLY BIBLE." I open it to find my blunt inside. A smile appeared on my face. I used to be worse though. I mostly did weed and meth. I just play with grass now. I lightly held my blunt and sat down on the couch. A lighter was inside my pocket and I lit it up to begin smoking. I had to take my mind off of Gia. But that was not easy.
That was like not eating breakfast in the day or not singing in the shower. I gazed at the clock that read 3:40PM. My house is really simple. You have a plain kitchen, a plain living room, a plain bathroom, and a plain bedroom. There's nothing fun about it. No picture frames or anything.
I should forget about the kiss. But then again I couldn't. Who knew that you could be so attracted to someone else? That upcoming Monday, I had to begin the day with teaching Chemistry as usual. Mondays are the worst. I walk across the hall and greet the teachers. I'm not really into socializing that much but I gotta say, some of the teachers were friendly. As soon as I opened my classroom door, I realized that there would be a new substitute for an English class this year. I arrange my papers to prepare for the day. The sound of knocking the door awakens me from falling asleep. Standing by the doorway was a blond, mid-twenties woman with a shy smile. She looked like one of the girls I dreamt of when I was in high school. "Hello," she greeted, "I didn't mean to bother you but I need some help."
"Are you the new substitute?" I moved closer to her and shook her hand. "Yes," she smiled politely, "I'm Ellie Hamilton." "Jesse Pinkman, I teach Honors Chemistry."
"Sweet. I'm subbing for Mrs. Brody since she's almost due. I'm teaching Honors English II." I didn't know what else to say. "Well, I just needed to have somebody help me around the school since I'm new."
She said as I began to notice the shimmer of her oceanic eyes. "I would love to, we have about 30 minutes until the bell rings anyways." I close my door with a lock and I begin to give her a tour. As perverted this might sound, I couldn't help but to stare at her black skirt. We also begin to share our life stories.
Ellie was also new to Alabama as well. She was raised in Florida and was in an abusive relationship for a long time. She moved to Alabama to get away from everything in Florida. Kind of strange to tell me everything about her quickly but whatever, I guess. As we began to walk the hallways with the teens chit chatting about some hot guys on Vine and guys complaining why they're still virgins, I notice her. Gianna.
She was wearing a burgundy casual dress with a grey sweater and a pair of black converse. You know what's so great about her? She doesn't surfeit her face with makeup to look pretty. She was already beautiful when she woke up. She was talking to her friend and as soon as we shared eye contact, we both looked away.
God damn it, I hate when that happens. Time goes by and it's time for the first class of the day. The day went slow and boring. My last period was with Gianna. She would always raise her hand and asks questions during my lectures, but today she didn't. "All right, so we're gonna watch a video today." All the kids cheered with joy. "… An educational video." And then they groaned. I love my job sometimes. "Come on guys, its not so bad. The video is mainly on how covalent bonds work." A hand rose up that belonged to a junior, Aaron, "Do we have to take notes?"
"Well you guys do have a quiz coming up this week on covalent bonds, so that would be a smart move on your part." Kaya Nolan, a perky cheerleader in the 11th grade, quickly found a black pen and a sheet of paper. As soon as I pressed the play button for the video, my eyes went to Gianna.
Her eyes showed that she was bored and not focused. Usually, she sits in the front to take notes, but today she didn't. "Remember, no texting, tweeting, or whatever you teens do nowadays." I sat down and began to grade their recent tests they took on balancing chemical equations that was over forty questions.
The majority of the class at least had a B. Gianna scored an A, no surprise. A few received C's, but however one got the lowest score, a 58, an F.
That test belonged to Kaya Nolan. I set aside the test papers and the clock stoke the final bell of the day, 2:20 PM. The class hurried themselves with placing their pens and papers into their bags. Before Kaya could leave, I said aloud, "Kaya, could you see me for a few minutes?"
She nodded and as soon as almost everyone left, she walked up to my desk.
"Yes, Mr. Pinkman?" I notice that her skirt was too high up. "Kaya, you were the only student who failed the recent test we took." She frowned, "What was the score?" "58."
I responded. "It was just two points away from a D. I was close."
I sighed. "Kaya, a wise man once told me that there's no "close" in science. There are right answers and there are wrong answers." "C'mon Jesse, can you please make it slide to a D?"
I hate being this type of guy. "Fine, but try harder?"
"I will." She smiled. "I have to go to practice." "Go on." I smiled at her.
She smiled back and turned around, swaying her butt while she left the room.
After she left the classroom, I noticed something under her desk.
It appeared to be a folded lined paper. I grabbed a hold of the paper and unfolded the paper.
It read from two girls' handwritings. I knew whom they belonged to.
Kaya and her friend, Judith, they sit next to each other.
Kaya had red ink writing, "Judy, can I ask you something?"
"What is it?" "Do you think Mr. Pinkman is attractive?"
"He's pretty cute… Ooh you like him!?"
"Don't tell… But he's so hot."
"How old do you think he is?" Judy asked.
"He's probably 25 or something. I think he's hot as hell. I wanna seduce him!" "Yea right!" "I'll tell you the deets."
And that was that.
To be continued…
