Chapter 11: Keeping it Secret
Angelina quickly made her way down to the Great Hall, not wanting to be any later than she already was. Making it to the Entrance Hall within five minutes, she quickly straightened her robes and walked in, sitting down next to Alicia, and filling her plate.
"What took you so long?" Katie asked.
"Hmm?" Angelina said, pretending she didn't know what Katie was talking about. "I had a run in with some Slytherins."
"And where's my brother?" asked Fred.
"How should I know?" she said. "It's not my job to keep track of him."
"Right," Fred and Katie smirked at each other.
George chose this moment to come striding into the Great Hall. "Sorry about that," he said, sitting down on the other side of Katie, "had some business to take care of."
"What kind of business, Georgie?" Fred asked, propping his head up on his hands.
"The usual," George replied. "Our products are really catching on even with ol' Toad Face banning them all."
"If you say so," Fred said, turning away.
Angelina was smiling at her plate when she felt a kick to her leg. It wasn't hard at all, just playful. She looked up to see George talking to Fred and Katie, but he looked at her out of the corner of his eye, smirking. Trying not to smile, she turned to Alicia who was going on about some book she'd read. Another kick met her leg, and another, and another. Angelina looked at George out of the corner of her eye. She kicked her leg out and hit him in the shin, hard. Upon his sharp intake of breath, she smiled in satisfaction.
"We better get to class," Alicia said, standing up.
"Yep," Angelina said, standing up as well.
"I would rather work on our products, but since we have to. . ." Fred complained.
"How can you complain?" Alicia asked. "You're only taking three classes!"
"Which means we can't fail those three classes," George replied. "Which means we have to study."
"Exactly," Fred said.
"You're so lucky," Katie said. "I wish I only had to take three classes."
"Katie!" Alicia said, appalled.
"What?" Katie said.
"You need your education," Alicia said. "Especially if you want to get-"
"-a good job at the Ministry and help provide for your family," Katie and Angelina both mimicked.
"Do I really say it that much?" Alicia asked.
"Yes!" they all chorused.
"Well, it's true, that's the point," she said.
Angelina rolled her eyes, but followed Alicia out anyway. Katie parted with them to go to Potions while the others went to Transfiguration. When they got there, Angelina went to sit with Alicia as usual, but Fred grabbed Alicia's arm, redirecting her.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
He whispered something in her ear that Angelina couldn't hear.
"Excuse me?!" Alicia nearly yelled.
Again, he whispered something in her ear and she moved to the other side of the class room.
"Aren't you going to sit with me, 'Lic?" Angelina asked, confused.
"Just switching it up, Angie," Alicia replied. Angelina just shrugged.
"Go sit with Angie," Fred said to George.
"Don't you want me to sit with you?" George asked.
"It's alright," Fred said. "I'll sit with Lee."
George raised an eyebrow, but didn't say anything.
"What was that about?" Angelina asked.
"I have no idea," George said, as McGonagall walked into the room and class started. George pulled out a piece of parchment and started writing on it. He passed it to Angelina.
She looked around before reading it.
'What was that earlier?'
'I have no idea what you're talking about'. She wrote back.
'The kick under that table, that's what I'm talking about.'
'I didn't want anyone to find out about it, that's why. We have to be careful. Fred will know. You are his twin after all.'
'Fred won't know anything and that bloody hurt!'
'It was supposed to. Now can I get back to class? I actually have to pass this class.'
'Go right ahead, love.'
Angelina turned her gaze to McGonagall. Suddenly she felt something on her leg. No, no, no! she thought. Grabbing the parchment, she quickly scribbled down another note. 'Get your hand off my knee this instant! I don't want to get another detention!'
'Oh, relax. It's not like McGonagall's going to come and look under the table.'
'How do you know that? It's not like you can see the future!'
Angelina crossed her legs when he didn't answer her, but that only made George slip his hand up her skirt. Her eyes widened, as he drew patterns on her thigh.
'George, I swear if you don't remove your hand then I will scream.'
'Yeah, sure. What's going to be your excuse? 'You saw a mouse?''
'No, that I was being annoyed by a certain red-head sitting next to me.'
'A good-looking red-head?'
Angelina rolled her eyes smiling. 'Very.'
'Charming?'
'I wouldn't go that far.'
'Don't make me tickle you.'
'You wouldn't tickle me in class.'
'Fine, maybe I wouldn't, but I am charming whether you want to admit it or not.'
'Keep telling yourself that.'
'I will.'
Angelina smiled and turned back to McGonagall. She let George's hand rest on her thigh for the rest of the lesson. Not that she would ever admit it to him, but she quite liked it there. Five minutes before class ended, however, he removed his hand. They were dismissed and packed up their things.
Angelina left the Great Hall early. George hadn't been there. When she asked Fred where he was, he'd said that he didn't know, but not to worry and that he'd be around. Well, Angelina did worry. She hadn't seen him since Potions and it was starting to worry her, more than it should. She made her way to Gryffindor tower and went up to the boy's dormitory. He wasn't there either. Maybe he was back in the Great Hall? she wondered. She started back down to the Great Hall, but half way there she saw a head of red hair, and so made her feet move faster until she was stood right next to him.
"Where have you been?!" she demanded.
"Oh, it's just you, Angie," George said. He didn't seem as cheerful as earlier.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"Nothing," he replied. "What would give you that idea?"
"George," Angelina deadpanned.
"Fine," George said. "I had a detention."
"What for?" Angelina asked.
"Something stupid as usual," he replied.
Angelina grabbed his hand so she could look at it. George had already gotten enough detentions this year. The back of his hand was so scarred that you could barely see the new additions. She looked at the red, bloodied hand. "Oh, George," she sighed. "That awful woman. If I could do something about this. . . ."
Angelina brought his hand to her lips and kissed it. George smiled down at her. "There isn't much you can do, love," he replied.
"Sorry I snapped at you," she said, lacing her fingers with his. "I was just really worried about you."
"It's alright," he said.
"George?" Angelina asked.
"Hmm?" was his reply.
"What are we going to do about her?" she asked.
"We?" he said, trying not to smile.
"You know, Katie, Alicia, Fred, Lee, you and me," she said.
George shrugged. "You and me," he mused. "I like the sound of that."
"George, that's not what we were talking about," she scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"It is now," he said, moving in to kiss her.
Angelina smiled into the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck, just as his tongue ran across her lips. She pulled away. "Not in the hallway," she said, looking around.
"Yeah, whatever you say," he said, his voice muffled as he kissed down her throat.
"George," Angelina snapped, pushing him away.
"I didn't do anything," he said in an innocent voice.
Angelina rolled her eyes and grabbed his hand pulling him down the corridor.
"Watch that hand, Ange," he said.
"Sorry," she said. "Did I hurt you?"
"No, I'm ok," he said.
Angelina pulled him along until they reached an unused classroom. As soon as the door was shut, George grabbed Angelina's waist and pulled her to him. Angelina looped her arms around his neck again and kissed him. Her tongue ran along his lips and he opened his mouth granting her access. They fought for dominance for a while before George moved down her neck.
"George," she moaned, as he nipped, sucked, and licked her neck. He bit down near her collar-bone.
"That's going to leave a mark," she mumbled, leaning against a desk.
"The more people who know you're mine, the better," he said.
Angelina grabbed her wand and performed a silencing charm whilst George's hands slowly slid up her shirt.
"George," Angelina moaned.
Suddenly the door knob was turning. Angelina grabbed her wand and quickly cast a disillusionment charm. They both turned to see Fred and Katie walking into the room.
"You've got to be joking," George mumbled.
"Where do you think they are?" Katie asked.
"Probably somewhere snogging," Fred replied. "Now, can we stop talking about George and Angelina?"
"I suppose," Katie said playfully.
"I don't want to see this," Angelina whispered.
"Neither do I," George whispered back. He picked up an old book that someone had left in the room and threw it so it hit the wall. Angelina stared wide-eyed.
"What was that?!" Katie asked, jolting and pulling away from Fred.
"Peeves, I swear to Merlin, if you don't leave, I will kill you," Fred muttered darkly.
"You can't kill him, Fred," Katie said, rolling her eyes.
"Fred loves Katie," George sing-sang in a voice that sounded a lot like Peeves. Angelina watched to see if Fred would buy it.
"Peeves get out of here!" Fred bellowed, looking around for the poltergeist.
"Fred, let's just go to a different class room," Katie said. "He's not going to leave."
"He'll just follow us!" Fred said.
"Peeves, we're going to a different classroom and if you follow us, we'll get the Bloody Baron," Katie said.
"Fine," George mumbled, smirking to himself. Fred and Katie swiftly left the room. George burst out laughing when they left.
"That was not funny," Angelina said, trying not to laugh herself.
"It was hilarious!" George said.
"Come on, before we get caught again," Angelina said, taking his hand.
George walked up to his room. He sighed as he lay down on his bed, but a smile crept onto his face as he thought about the day. Yes, he'd gotten a detention, but at least he'd gotten to snog Angelina.
The door creaked open. "How's it going with Angelina?" said a familiar voice.
"Bloody brilliant," George answered. "It's amazing, Gin. She's amazing."
"Good, so everything's good between you two?" Ginny asked.
"Better than good," George replied.
"Good," Ginny said smugly. "My work here is done."
George was lying in his bed fast asleep when he suddenly felt cold. "Fred, give back the covers," he mumbled. "It's too early."
"Shh, I don't want to wake the others," a voice whispered in his ear.
"Ange? What are you doing?" he asked, dazed, turning over.
"I came to see you," she said, running her fingers up his chest. "Why do you think I'm here?"
George buried his face into her neck. "Go to sleep," he mumbled, encircling his arms around her waist.
Angelina sighed, stroking his hair. "I'm not tired," she replied, nipping at his ear.
"What about Fred and Lee and everyone else?" George asked, looking up at her through one bleary eye.
"I put a silencing charm around the bed," Angelina purred lasciviously. "You wouldn't think of doing wicked things to me, would you?"
"Maybe," George replied, pulling her on top of him, now much more awake. "Let's find out. . ."
