"So, what's up with you?" Omen asked as he and his sister, Angel, looked down at their brother who lay on his bed in Skulduggery's living room.

Scorch sneezed loudly. "Bhat do you bink?" he rubbed his nose. He sneezed again and blew his nose into his paw. The Hellhound looked at it, his eyes widened slightly then he wiped it on the bed.

"Um…." Omen said. "Gross."

"Oh! Oh! I know!" Angel said hopping up and down. "You're sick!"

"Bat beast bumone knows bhats boing bon." Scorch waved his paw in the air then went into a coughing fit and ended up repeating the earlier process.

Omen had taken a small step back, his lip curled slightly in disgust. He hated germs.

"Looks like you have the Hellhound Virus," Angel said, nodding like a scientist would as they came to the conclusion that lightening came from the sky.

Scorch sneezed again. "What?"

"You know," Angel waved her paw airily, eyes roaming. "Where we sneeze and cough and get sore throats then set fire to everything and take out the entire North-West."

Scorch's eyes lit up. "Boh yeah! Bremember ben mom got sick?"

Omen nodded gravely. "Took the mortals months to put out that fire."

Scorch sneezed once again, a jet off flame shot out and would have made the couch burst into flame were it not for the special Protective Plastic Valkyrie and Skulduggery had put up all over the house that made sure nothing would burn.

The three siblings stared for a few moments.

"Uh oh," Angel said.

"No bidding," Scorch said. "My snot is flammable."

The silver Hellhound rolled her eyes. "No, when that starts happening you've passed phase two."

Omen and Scorch looked at her.

She sighed. "Phase one. Chills and fever."

"Had bhat this morning," Scorch nodded.

"Phase two, coughing and runny nose."

"I just had that."

"And now, phase three. Also known as the reason Atlantis is underwater."

Scorch and Omen cocked their heads.

"Your powers go out of control and burn everything."

"Oh."

There was a bit of silence as they siblings took it in.

"How long does this last?" Omen asked, now totally freaked out and beginning to creep towards a window.

"Depends," Angel said shrugging. "Could be two hours, could be a month. It depends on the type of Hellhound and how powerful you are."

Just then Scorch sneezed, another jet of flame shot out and disintegrated Skulduggery's brand new bookcase that they hadn't yet protected yet.

"Oops."

"We need to get you to Nye."

"WHAT?!" Scorch jumped up, the blanket he had draped over himself fluttered to the ground. He landed on his paws, wobbled, then regained his composure and glared at his sister. "No way am I letting that It near me, let alone give me medicine."

"Sorry Scorch," Angel said. "But you need your medicine."

"But medicine tastes icky!" Scorch wailed.

"Well you need to take it."

"NO!" Scorch shot out of the house, breaking the door down in the process. Angel cursed. "Come on Omen! We need to hunt down our brother."

Omen went to dive out the open window, but Angel grabbed his tail in her teeth and drug him out the door.

Twenty Minutes Later…..

Scorch was hiding under Valkyrie's bed, trying his best not to sneeze. 'They'll never find me here,' he thought to himself gleefully.

Just then, the bedroom door opened and two shadows were seen as Angel and Omen walked in.

"Scorch," Angel said. "We know you're there now why don't you just come out and save us all the trouble."

"Angel, how do you even know he's here?" Omen said back, his voice tinged with uneasiness.

"Because," Angel retorted. "Scorch always hides under the bed when he gets stressed. Remember when we were little and mom found out he was the one who broke that new vase? We looked everywhere and couldn't find him and it turned out he was hiding under mom and dad's bed the entire time. Granted, that wasn't the smartest since the one who was hunting him down slept on the bed, bit still."

"Okay, we all agree Scorch is as smart as a door knob but he can't be under Valkyrie's bed. It's so full of junk how would her even fit under there?"

I have my ways, Scorch thought.

"Whatever, let's just look and prove one us wrong."

Scorch panicked when he heard his siblings coming closer so he made a dash for the window.

"Ha! See! I told you!" Angel yelled as she chased her brother all over the room. Omen stood off to the side, looking like he wanted to run too. Then Scorch smashed into him and they both fell out the window.

Scorch felt the air rush out of him. He sat up slowly, than he suddenly cheered. "I'm alive!"

The outburst was interrupted by another coughing fit. A tree went on fire.

"Oopsies," Scorch said.

Angel landed next to them and swore. "See! Scorch, you're getting worse. You need to take your medicine!"

"No I don't," Scorch shook his head.

"Yes you do."

"No I don't."

"Yes you do."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Ugh, guys can you please stop. It's like Shade and Ebony are around." Omen said from where he was still underneath Scorch.

"Right, sorry." Angel looked at Scorch. "Take the medicine."

"No!" Scorch took off running stuff lit on fire as he ran by.

Angel gave chase. "Omen! Get your butt over here and help me hunt down our brother!"

"But I don't like germs!"

"Too bad!"

Omen grudgingly got up and the two chased Scorch all over Haggard and Dublin. By the time they managed to catch him, nearly half of Ireland was engulfed in flames. Scorch was drug by his siblings back to the Sanctuary, which he also set on fire, and was tied to the wall.

Nye came over with the medicine and put it down. "Eat that and you should be better within the hour. Drink only water and no junk food."

Scorch whined. "Do I bave to?"

"Drink it," Angel growled.

Scorch whimpered then lapped up the medicine. "Ew, ew disgusting!"

Omen stood off in the corner, not wanting near the sick Hellhound. "Blech," he mumbled.

After Scorch had taken his medicine, and Nye was sure he wasn't going to set fire to anything unintentionally again, he was released from the Medical Ward. Scorch walked out with his siblings and found Valkyrie, Skulduggery, Tanith, Fletcher and Ghastly all in the Throne Room looking at the TV.

"Breaking News," the reporter said. "Nearly half of Ireland has been engulfed in flames. Luckily, no one has been hurt yet and firefighters are working to stop the blaze. The cause of this sudden phenomenon is unknown, but many security videos have caught these strange creatures appearing as the fire has started. The footage may shock you."

Scorch stared as the scene on the TV changed to a video of him, running around a burning street screaming while Angel chased after him yelling. After a few seconds, they disappeared from view and Omen peeked out from the side, looking around scared.

Angel reemerged and stalked over to him then drug Omen after her.

Skulduggery turned the TV off and they all turned to look at the three Hellhounds.

"That," Scorch said. "Was not me."

Angel groaned. "Scorch, you were on the tape."

"It doesn't have to be. It could be a doppelganger, or a robot."

"Why would it be a robot?"

"I don't know, to start the Robot Invasion." Scorch's eyes suddenly widened. "Oh my gosh; we're all going to die! Robots are invading!"

He hid under the thrones.

Angel rolled her eyes and turned to the others. "Scorch got the Hellhound Virus, which is like a human cold but it makes our powers go out of control. He didn't want to take the medicine so I had to chase him all over, him setting things on fire as a result."

"Seriously?" Valkyrie said. "And no one told me?"

Angel shrugged. "I was kind of busy with trying not to let Scorch expose magic to the world."

"Right."

"Well," Skulduggery said. "At least it's all over now!"

Then Omen sneezed.
