I do not own Fire emblem, or any of it's characters.
Dear Readers: If you've read my Fin Chapter, than I really must apologize. After the events that transpired over the past few months, I found myself unable to continue as Ace. But now, after the previous events lately, I can finally continue my writing process. TO everybody, I bid you welcome. While I was gone, my writing has improved considerably. Thank you for your patience, and judge me fairly. Now, I hope you enjoy the story. To Metal-Over, I will start writing in second person view soon, but during this story, I ought to finish it with first person view.
Of course, we got lost at the first second. Keep going forward she said, we'll know when we go back she said, honestly, I'm going to stop listening to that princess. The quest for Ragnell is going to take much longer than I thought. It frustrated me how The maze seemed to go on and on, every corridor leading to another. I tried leaving markers, such different coins, or coins with different brands. Of course, it bothers me that I was wasting money, but life was definitely better than money.
"Lucina, are you sure this is the right way?" I asked, sighing as we came to another solid stone corridor.
"Of course I do." The women answered. I wasn't about to contradict her, because I know that she would hit me if I did. It was always hard to break her spirit.
"You said hours ago." I complained. "I think we can all agree you have no sense of direction whatsoever."
"Shut up!" Lucina Retorted harshly. She gave a small scoff, and walked faster, her luscious blue hair, floating in the wind. I couldn't help but stare. What am I thinking, I need to focus. Just remember, your dead if you even try to touch her. If not by Lucina, than by he father. I shuddered thinking of what might happen if another awkward thing would happen between Lucina and I. He would have my head on a stick faster than you can say, It was worth it!
As we began to march, a certain noise prickled my senses. It was a certain trickle, like drops of water slowly pouring into a lake. Each drop drove fear into my heart. It could have been anything. Like blood dripping off the fangs of a monsters, or maybe poison, slowly dripping on the stone floor. Or maybe something worse...
As we continued through the maze, we found something that shouldn't have been there. A lake! It was both what we need, and my greatest fear. That trickling was getting more and more frequent.
The lakes rising?!
Of course it had to be rising. The one thing I was afraid, and it had to be rising. But at the rate it was rising, it would envelope the entire maze... killing everyone of us. Fear struck my heart at thinking what my team could be going through. They could be in a worse situation than Lucina and I. Some of them may even be dead...
No, I can't think like that. Ike's strong enough to get past anything. Marth's tactics should help him out. Roy and Kai could bare a little swim on their own, but could I.
"I don't think that water is clean." Lucina stated.
"I don't think so either, but either way, we have to go, now." I said, hiding my panic. Lucina gave me a curious, penetrating gaze, that put me in an awkward position.
"What is it?" I asked.
"... Are you scared of water?" Lucina asked.
Hiding it wouldn't get us out of this mess. I might as well come clean.
"Yes, unfortunately." I answered in a mumble. " I felt a familiar insignificance inside me. Me, a supposed leader, scared of water. I might as well stick a sword in my own back.
"That's not so bad." Lucina said reassuringly.
"That's easy for you to say. " I huffed. "You feel a stab of fear every-time you hear a drop of water." Honestly, I had no idea why I was so afraid of water. I consume it everyday, and usually have no problems with it. Maybe it had something to do with my childhood.
"Look, Robin." Lucina said softly. "Being afraid of something isn't that bad, it just makes you human."
I stared into her piercing blue eyes. It was one of the few times I could just see how beautiful she was. The kind of beauty you'd defend with your life. Oh, I forgot, am defending her with my life. I would have kept staring at her if I hadn't noticed the water droplets getting more and more frequent. I turned, and saw that the whole where the water was leaking from was cracking, and getting bigger. The smell of freshwater was getting stronger with each drop. I knew what was going to happen, and I didn't want to be there when it happened.
"Lucina, we have to go, now!" I cried. I gripped her hand, and tugged her my way, and We began running again through the corridors. I didn't care how endless the halls seemed, I just wanted to get out of there.
"What is it?" She asked, somewhat flustered.
Before I could answer, a loud crack echoed through the halls. The entire ceiling above the lake exploded, and shattered. Water instantly flooded the corridor behind us, and water began running at our shoes. I didn't have to even look behind me to know that there was a small tidal wave behind us that took up the entire hall. Fear gripped me more than anything else. The one thing I was afraid of is currently about to envelope the entire maze, and probably kill the lot of us.
"Grima dammit, why does it have to be water?!" I yelled. The water came faster and faster at our heels, more and more water creeping up to the corners. We turned a corner, and instant shock came to my heart. It was a dead end. The water was instantly at our knees, and already steadily rising to the bottom of our hips. Panic gripped me fast.
"Back-track! Now!" I yelled. And we sprinted our way back. Unfortunately, it was more like trudging than sprinting. The water grew heavier and heavier with each step, and every inch sent more panic through me. "Lucina, hurry!" Corridor through corridor, we kept running into more halls and dead ends. As we trudged our way through, I could hear the crackling of the roof above my head.
"Robin, watch out!" Lucina yelled, giving me a hard shove. I fell face first into the water, and panicked immediately. I began to thrash about, and finally surfaced to the top. Coughing, and gasping for breath, I glanced around to find Lucina, but she wasn't anywhere in sight.
"Lucina? Hey, Lucina." I called. There was no answer. Did she push me and ran, no she wouldn't do that. The only place she would be was underwater... oh crap. I steeled my nerves, held my breath, and submerged myself under the murky, brown water. At first, I saw nothing, then Lucina came into my line off vision. She was unconscious, with a large, bleeding bump on her head. It looked like she got hit with falling rock. That must have been what she saved me from. Slowly, and carefully, I picked her up, and emerged. The water was at least up to our necks, and steadily rising. Walking through the water was hard enough. Now, balancing Lucina on my shoulder, while keeping her aloft on the water, was almost impossible. Sweat poured down my brow.
I could hear another rock rain down. I could have dodged nimbly, yet I couldn't let the rock his Lucina. Nimbly, I dodged to the left, taking Lucina with me. I right in course of another falling rock. Tilting my back, I let the rock strike my chest, and sent me down again. My back hit the bottom hard, and the air flew out of my lungs. Tossing the rock off me, I grasped the floating Lucina, and tried to emerge. As I raised my hand to touch the ceiling, all I could feel was solid wall.
The water is fully at the top... no...
I felt my body begin to give up on me instantly. I didn't get a single bit of air before I got sent down to the bottom. At first I began to aimlessly swim, but found my hope begin to drain away with my air. I couldn't believe it, I had lost the will to fight. I let my body go limp, and begin to float aimlessly. My vision blurred, and the last thing I saw was Lucina, floating away from me, before my vision blurred away.
There was no feeling, nothing at all. Is this what death feels like? Suddenly, I started coughing rapidly, struggling for breath.
Wait, breath, aren't I underwater? My eyes flapped open, revealing a stone ceiling. My myrmidon gear was soaked through and through, and my hair was practically plastered to my face. A sword suddenly came at my neck, hovering above my temple.
"Hello Robin, nice to see you again..." The voice was sickeningly familiar. "Yes little Robin, we meet again."
And that is it for now... just leaving a small cliffhanger there...
I really like this chapter, mostly because I could play with robins fears. I hope you enjoyed, see you next week, or maybe more depending on my time.
