A/N Yes, I've changed the way it's written: it's now first person present rather than third person past. If you want me to change it back, or change previous chapters to this, PM/review. Thanks :)
Disclaimer: no. Just no. It's cruel to suggest the possibility.
Angelina's POV
We (me, Alicia, and Katie) stretch, and straighten out our sleeping bags one last time before settling down - apart from Alicia, who pushes herself up and pads silently over to the light switch near the door. Just as she presses it, suddenly the door opens and Fred, George, and Lee come in, along with a sudden burst of bright light.
"Fred!" I shout in annoyance. "What the hell are you doing?"
Fred grins, "Angel, much as I love you screaming my name-"
The boys all grin and I cringe. Why does he have to be so... flirty? Filthy? Especially in front of everyone, dammit! If we were alone... And my mind begins to travel along well worn lines. Before I think: Whoa! Angelina freaking Johnson shut the hell up! You do not think that when the guy's two metres away from you!
And that's when I realise everyone's staring at me strangely, Oh dear god can I not just have said that out loud...
"Said what out loud?" Lee asked with an evil look on his face, and Alicia adds:
"Yeah, Ange, said what? Fred was only talking about you screaming his name!"
"Alicia! I thought you were my friend!" She does the best innocent expression in the whole damn world, anyone would think she didn't know the - implications - of that statement. At least Katie's still on my side-
"That's right Angelina, if you got dirty connotations from that, it's your mind, not Fred's." Okay, ignore that last comment. And she sits back, watching the effect she's caused. Lots of people think that if you're black, you can't blush. Let me testify to the opposite. Okay, maybe not red, but I'm pretty obvious. Okay, very obvious.
"Katie, I was not thinking anything dirty, if you thought that, that's your mind!" I attempt weakly. Nobody looks convinced... Oh well, I didn't really expect it to work.
And now George is stepping in, with a smirk that only means trouble: "But Angelina, if it was nothing dirty, then surely you wouldn't mind sharing?"
I open and shut my mouth, desperately hoping this is the point where my guardian angel comes down and performs obliviate on everyone? No? No. But then the angel comes, in the from of Alicia Spinnet:
"C'mon everyone, stop teasing Ange - we all already know she's thinking about Fred." Scratch the 'angel' part of that. But everyone's stopping, looking disappointed... until she leans over and whispers in George's ear. I can't hear what she said, but I'm sure it means nothing good for me, as George's annoyed face vanishes, being replaced by a look of complete evil as he glances at me.
Katie immediately leans over to them, looking like an excited 13 year old: "What? Whaaaat? Tell me! Please! I'm begging you! I won't tell Ange!"
I roll my eyes as Alicia shoves her away, saying "Tell you in a minute." Katie looks satisfied.
George leans over to Alicia again, and they're back whispering away. Their heads are literally touching. Now, what's so unfair, is that if Fred and I were doing that, I'd never hear the end of it... But Alicia and George look like a complete couple and no one says anything!
"Get a room!" I laugh - there, that's got everyone else noticing, and Alicia's pulling away from George and blushing really hard. Looks like she's only just realised she was, like, one centimetre away from her crush... Ha, Alicia! Tables turned!
George winks at her and sits back... it must be a Weasley twin thing: try to embarrass the girl who's got a crush on you. Wait, did I just say that? Stop, brain. I don't have a crush on Fred. It's only Alicia, who has a crush on George. Oh, I bet I just said that out loud too... no. Phew!
Now, onto their plan. I need to find out what it is. "Alicia," I murmur, "what were you talking to George about?"
"Nothing." She replies.
"Aliiiciaaaa?"
"Nothing."
"Well, if your not gonna tell me, I'll assume it's something dirty."
"Nothing." She says, stubbornly.
"I'm assuming..."
"Assume all you like."
"Ok, George has told you not to tell, hasn't he?" I guess.
"Maybe." She replies.
"Aww, that's so sweet!"
"What is?"
"You and George..." I whisper, raising my eyebrows.
"You can talk, Angelina Johnson! What about you and Fred?" She replies, raising her voice.
"Shhh!" I whisper desperately, but the damage is done. Everyone looks over at us questioning - or in most cases, as though they're planning more embarrassment of me. Damn. Right, quick, change the subject.
"So," I interrupt quickly, before anyone says anything, "as I asked before, what are you boys doing in here anyway?"
"Can't we come and talk to our friends?" says Lee, looking mock hurt.
I roll my eyes, "Sure, you can talk to us, but that wasn't the only reason you came in, was it? You probably had some evil plan-"
"You wound me!" Fred cries dramatically.
"-and even if you didn't, knock before coming in! We mightn't have been- like - dressed or anything!"
"Yeah, that was kind of the point..." George trails off, with a look at Alicia. I roll my eyes again - what is it with the twins and dirty comments? None of their brothers do it, and their parents are very nice, well-mannered people.
"Oh, forget it. Change the subject. So, um, whatcha all want to do?" And as Katie opens her mouth to speak, I add: "Other that annoy and embarrass Angelina." Katie shuts her mouth again, looking disappointed.
"I can't believe none of you have thought of anything!" I say. And it's true, I can't believe it. Usually they're all chock-full of ideas - often dirty, in the boys' case - but still ideas.
George looks as though he's about to suggest something, but Alicia chucks her pillows at him and starts mouthing really fast. He shuts his mouth again. Is this part of their plan? Am I walking straight into it?
"How about a game or something?" I ask.
Alicia looks at me. "Like what?"
"Say... truth or dare?" I say. "'Shag, marry, kill'? 'Would you rather'?"
"Okay!" Says Katie enthusiastically.
Lee adds: "Which are we going to do first?"
"Why not start at the beginning - go in chronological order of what Ange said?" Alicia suggests.
George nods: "Yeah, so that'd be... Truth or dare? Everyone okay with that?"
I begin to suspect something - since when has George been so obliging to everyone? Usually he'd just decide, and make everyone play. But I nod. Everyone else agrees too.
The moment everyone nods, George and Alicia seem to completely lose their previous self-control (which I had wondered about): Alicia squeals, George punches the air, and they high-five. Everyone else is just staring at them in bewilderment - they're now jumping on Alicia's bed, cheering - apart from Fred, who's just grinning. It would be Fred!
"Fred!" I - don't yell this time, I learned from last time - say loudly. "Do you know what they're going on about?"
"Why would I?" He asks innocently, when at the same time that Lee says:
"Why're you asking Fred? Why not me or Katie?"
I glare at them both: "Because Fred was looking more like he knew what was going on. Lee, you just looked confused."
"But I always look confused!" Lee defends himself. "More to the point, why were you looking at Fred, to know what he looked like? Shouldn't you have been looking at George and Alicia?"
Katie grins, entering into the conversation with vigour. "Unless..." she glances at me evilly, "She was already looking at him?"
I blush (for about the hundredth time this evening) and glare at Katie. "Shut up Katie, or I'll start talking about your relationship with Lee."
"I don't have a relationship!" She protests.
"Exactly." I say. "Your lack of relationship - even though you obviously like him..."
Both she and Lee blush. Everyone's blushing today, its only the twins who haven't. And it's unlikely they will, nothing ever fazes or embarrasses them... Lucky for them, I guess, as I assume they have the Weasley blush that Ron has. They probably got rid of it on purpose.
Just then, Alicia and George come back to the ground. George opens his mouth to speak, when we hear footsteps coming from the landing. The boys hurl themselves into hiding places: Lee flings himself behind the door; George dives into the wardrobe (none of us girls have the time to protest); and Fred, as all the other hiding places are gone, disappears into my bed. My bloody bed! If that's his mum... no, she's not here. It'll be Bill, then. Help! Well, at least I'm not in it too...
We hear the door open, and two people walk in, looking shocked at the light in the room: Bill, and a pregnant Fleur. "What's going on?" Bill asks, looking surprised to find me out of bed. Thanks, Fred!
"Um, I was just, um, going to the loo. Yeah, and that's why the light's on. Sorry if I disturbed you."
Bill nods, looking as though he believes this. Yes! He turns to go, when Fleur says:
"Angelina, your bed - eet is very untidy. I'll tidy eet for you."
Noooooo! "It's okay," I manage to say, "Don't worry."
"No, eet is not a problem, really eet is not."
"Please..." I shut my eyes and leave the room as fast as I can - 'go to the loo'.
When I return, Bill is still in full tirade at Fred. "Frederick Gideon Weasley! I ALLOW YOU TO HAVE GUESTS, FEMALE GUESTS, AND THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT THEM! I KNOW FULL WELL" (As Fred attempts to protest) "THAT SHE IS NOT YOUR GIRLFRIEND! NOT EVEN YOUR GIRLFRIEND! AND I FIND YOU IN HER BED! I AM OWLING YOUR MOTHER THIS INSTANT!"
I think I need to step in, to prevent Fred dying (although he's blushing, ha. I need to remember to tease him about that.). "Bill..." I venture nervously. "Um, can I explain?"
"WHAT?!" Bill yells, before clearly remembering I'm not a member of the family so he can't shout at me. "Yes?" He says, more calmly.
"Um, it wasn't actually Fred's fault."
("'It takes two', she means," I hear Alicia giggle quietly to Katie, who grins. I will get them back for that.)
I continue, heedless. "You see, me, Alicia, and Katie are all best friends with Fred, George, and Lee, so the boys came in to talk to us." I feel justified revealing George and Lee, as it's both to protect Fred, and because they were teasing me before. "Then we heard you coming, so they all hid, Fred was last, so he had to... y'know."
Bill looks resigned, more than angry, now; and I can see Fleur is trying to hide a smile. "Alright." He says. "But, Fredrick Weasley, no more girls beds." And he leaves. Yes!
Fred still looks a bit embarrassed as George and Lee come tumbling out of their hiding places. Alicia spins to face George, who just came out our wardrobe. I repeat, wardrobe. I.e., where we keep our clothes. I hope she tells him off properly. Oh yes, here we go.
"George Weasley, out of all the places in the room! The wardrobe! That has our clothes in it! Which are bloody private, for your information!"
He doesn't look fazed, though: "Would you rather I'd hidden in your bed, Alicia? No? Well then. And," he smirks, "nice underwear, by the way."
Katie, Alicia and I all glare at George. "You've been looking at our underwear?!" Katie asks, in a tone of controlled anger.
"No!" Says George, looking mock-hurt. "I wasn't looking at your underwear Katie-"
"Good." Katie lies back on her bed.
"I was only looking at Alicia's," He finishes, causing Alicia to glare and look disgusted - but also, I can tell, mildly pleased and embarrassed.
The whole room 'ooh's simultaneously.
Lee stretches, glancing at the clock. "Much as I love to hear about Alicia and George's... weird fetishes for each other's underwear,"
Alicia and George stick their tongues out at him. Alicia blushes; George doesn't (damn!).
"It's about 10.00 at night. I'm not-" as everyone stares, "-suggesting we go to sleep, but couldn't we boys go get dressed and grab our sleeping bags, and come back? Then if your brother Bill comes along again, he doesn't find Fred in Angelina's bed."
I blush, but accept his idea and nod. Everyone else seems to see the validity of his point, and the boys drag themselves up and trail out the room.
Once the door is shut behind them, Katie squeals: "Girl talk time!"
I groan, but submit.
Alicia immediately chips in: "Let's start with talking about Fred Weasley and our very own Angelina!"
"What is there to talk about?" I glare at her.
"Hmmm..." she frowns in mock concentration. "Other than the fact you've been totally wanting to jump his bones all evening?"
"Jump his bones?" I ask. "What kind of weird expression is that?"
"It means-" Alicia begins.
"I am well aware of what it means, Miss Spinnet, I was simply pointing out it was a strange expression to choose - for something I wasn't thinking." I reply quickly.
Katie just smirks at me. "Admit it Ange, you were. Therefore it's a perfectly appropriate term to use." And as I attempt to protest: "Let's start with the easy questions. Number one: do you like Fred?"
"Umm," I say, "well, um," got it! "Of course I like him. I like all of you lot or I wouldn't be friends with you."
"Not what I meant and you know it." glares Katie. "Now answer the damn question properly."
Alicia chips in 'kindly' (yeah right): "Yeah, don't worry Ange, we are your friends! We won't tell him anything!"
"Yeah, we'll make you tell him," Katie mutters darkly. She has still not forgiven me for that 'of course I like him' getting out of her question.
"No, but seriously," says Alicia, and she's stopped grinning. "If you really don't want us to tell him, we won't. But he does like you. And not-" as I attempt to interrupt "-just in a friendly way. He actually likes you, I know it."
"He likes- you what- how do you know?" I ask suspiciously. "Have you asked him? Did you tell him?"
"God, woman, calm down!" says Katie. "Of course we haven't told him, but Lee and George kinda hinted..."
"And did you 'hint' back!?"
"No, Johnson, calm down already! Although you might want to realise that the amount of obvious you are is more than an elephant riding a broom through the Department of Mysteries."
("That's a new one," says Alicia, interested. "Where'd you get that from"?
"Made it up on the spur of the moment," replies Katie proudly.)
I ask worriedly: "Am I really that obvious? Can he tell?"
"I think," says Alicia thoughtfully, "That he can tell, but doesn't know if you're just flirting or not. Like you didn't know he likes you, although he's always flirting with you."
Great. Just great. Yippee. Sodding effing fantastic. And I'm really hoping you got the sarcasm in that sentence.
"Number two, just to clarify: do you think Fred Weasley is hot?" Katie asks, to lighten the atmosphere (that's what she always says she's doing, when she says something like that).
'Yes', I want to say, 'I think he's sexy as hell and yes, I was wanting to jump his bones'. He is, though. Those years of Quidditch have given him really great muscles, too, and I bet he has a six-pack. I bet. And his hair... he's grown his hair longer, and now it's all shaggy, and so hot. Especially when he looks out from under the fringe and winks at me. Is it sad to say I swoon?
"It's okay, Ange, just ignore us if you want," says Katie in a voice highly laced with sarcasm.
"Yeah," adds Alicia in a loud, clear voice. "Do continue fantasising about Fred Weasley and his - was it six-pack you said?"
"Shit, did I say that out loud?! Alicia, did I say that out loud!"
"No, Ange, I was guessing. Clearly I was right, though..." She grins.
"Right about what?" Says a different, male voice, and I look up to see the same hot guy I was just thinking about.
Alicia says mischievously, "She was talking abou-"
I launch myself at her and clap my hand over her mouth before she can finish that sentence. If she says anything, I'll never hear the end of it.
"Anjinathkursuxy" She gets out.
"What's she talking about?" Fred asks, all innocent. "Let her speak!"
And he looks up at me teasingly and I know he knows what she was trying to say. Kill me now.
Katie glances across at me don't you dare say anything, don't you dare and opens her mouth don't you bloody dare but then she shuts it again and just grins knowingly at me. Well... thanks - I guess?
Now Lee and George have come in and the boys have settled down on the floor. Bloody hell, they look like they're here for the night! I roll my eyes. Are we on a camping trip or what? What with sleeping bags, pillows, water bottles, clocks, jeez we're organised aren't we?
"Right," says Katie excitedly, "let's get started! Angelina, truth or dare?"
Please reveiw! Even if it's just one word (eg. LOL or yay or urgh or cr*p). Thanks!
