Chapter 3.
He knew something was off the moment he heard the alarm. He was one of the few truly forgotten souls, hidden deep within the Arkham walls, condemned to the loneliness of it's darkest corridors, never really given an opportunity to escape. Never actually becomming the great villain he wanted to be, he didn't really have anything to aspire to, and since they knew he wasn't truly insane, he was mostly left alone.
A sudden noice disturbed his silent train of thought and he glanced up towards the ventilation shaft. A lone rat, small and dirty brown animal has been sniffing behind the bars, and for a short while, the sight of it brought a smile to his weary face.
He was fine with the fact that the rats were his only companions in this damned place, it was always that way. Although, lately, their numbers started to decrease since they started using stronger rat poisons to get rid of them. It angered him greatly, but there was nothing he could do about it.
Suddenly, the rat screeched a scurried into the vent, as a loud noices of running feet and gunshot sounded from somewhere within the building. He closed his eyes and sighed deeply with dissapointment. If there was a breakout, it was highly unlikely that someone would even remember he was even here.
And so it was very surprising for him when he heard soft footsteps entering the very corridor his cell was in, and he got up and carefully stepped to the small glass window in the heavy metal door.
He couldn't see anything, but as was trying to catch a glimpse of whoever was outside, the lock suddenly clicked, and he took a step back, as the door slowly opened with a loud, screeching noice.
"Hi." a voice came from outside, and he looked out of the door to see a person standing there. Dressed in a partially leather and partially metal costume, she was clearly a woman. Her face hidden behind a mask, her custume was obviously made not only for protection, but mostly to conceal her identity. Her could only see her eyes, a deep shade of blue that stared right at him as if to confirm he was truly the one she was looking for.
"There you are." she said gently, and although he couldn't see her face, he kind of sensed she was smiling. "Alright, I don't have much time to speak, so I'll make it short." she said, and he stared at her, listening.
"I have created this mess as a distraction, for now and for the future days as well. I've come to offer you a job, a little favor I need you to do for me. Come with me, I'll get you out. Let's go before somebody catches us." She said and gestured towards the door with her gloved hand. After a slight hesitation, he moved to follow her and she led him through the asylum, when suddenly, they stopped as they arrived to a huge hole in a wall. She stared at the gaping hole with fascinated curiosity. It could have been a bomb, but the stone looked more like if it was ripped out of the wall.
Carefully, she peeked outside, and after this quick check, they fled, running across the asylum grounds, jumping inside her car so quickly, they didn't even notice the mass of muscle and dark green scales watching them from afar.
