Hollykit shuffled as she felt a small paw prod her in the side. "Pigeonkit.." She muttered , annoyed. "Leave me alone.." Pigeonkit flopped down to his belly. "But I wanna play!" He wailed. "Go play with Willowkit!" He hissed, pushing her brother away. She felt Pigeonkit's pawsteps as they padded away. It hadn't been a moon since they were born, and she still hadn't opened her eyes. Pigeonkit opened his the day after, and Willowkit the next. Hollykit just decided, she liked the peace of the darkness. Snowfire checked on her every day, making sure there wasn't anything wrong. She wasn't very concerned. It was Bramblethorn that was concerned.

My father would come to the nursery every day, urging me to get up and open my eyes. When he came in today, I fluffed up my fur and hissed. "I'll get up when I want to!". He hasn't bothered me since. I perked my ears, listening for Pigeonkit and Willowkit. I could hear their loud mewling. "Okay, I'll be the warrior and you be the Pigeon." "But YOUR name is Pigeonkit. Why don't YOU be the Pigeon!" "Because, I'm stronger, and Bramblethorn has showed me how to hunt! So I get to be the warrior!" Hollykits ears perked. Warrior? Was that what her father was? Was she a warrior? She thought to herself as Snowfire padded into the den. "Hello, Hollykit. How are you feeling today?" She mewed in a soft tone. "Fine.." Hollykit murmured. Snowfire licked Hollykits ear. "Can you please get up for me? It's been almost a moon. Don't you want to meet the clan? Explore the camp?" Hollykit's heart bounced. Explore the camp? I want to explore the territory! Hollykit turned to Snowfire, leaping to her paws as she opened her eyes. Snowfire let out a gasp and beckoned her mother with her tail. She let out a gasp and squealed. "Oh, what beautiful green eyes you have!" Huh? Hollykit thought. Why can't I see my mother, and Snowfire, Pigeonkit and Willowkit too! Maybe I haven't learned my senses well enough, or my eyesight hasn't kicked in yet. "Oh, Hollykit! Your just too perfect! Bramblethorn will be squealing with joy!" She squealed. She heard Snowfire whisper something to her mother, and her let out a gasp. Then Snowfire whisked out of the den. "Hollykit, Come here.." She murmured softly. Hollykit walked towards her voice. "Now, go towards the den wall.." Hollykit flicked her ear, and sniffed the air. "No no, Just, walk.." Hollykit scrunched her face and walked forward. Soon, she crashed into the wall. Her mother let out a wail. "Oh, Hollykit! Your blind!"
