Hi.

Well, I am so sorry for not updating in a month. I literally had no inspiration to write anything last month, honestly…

The AC broke again like 2 weeks after we finally got it fixed and I get all sweaty and tired easily… Also, with my crush, he hasn't answered, or ever will answer to my texts. I wished him a happy birthday and o July 4th, I said something he SHOULD have replied to, but didn't. He even read them!

And I'm going on vacation to Disneyworld on August 13th, just to let you know just in case I don't update until then ;)

Okay, so that's it. Let's get on to the story, shall we?

(And you guys have been amazing fans, I can't thank you enough (: )

I do not own Danny Phantom.

A Phantom Story

Chapter 14

I woke up the next day to a bright shining yellow sun. I looked at my clock to see it was six AM. I sighed. I had an half hour to get ready for school and prepare. I yawned as I sat up and stretched my arms and legs. I looked around the room. I had a feeling today was going to be long. I got out of bed, walked in my closet to pick out some clothes, went into the bathroom to take a shower, got dressed, brushed teeth, grabbed bag, and went downstairs to eat. My Aunt Susan and Uncle Fred were sitting at the dining room table talking to Alex and Rebecca. I could tell by my friend's looks, they were faking the nice attitude.

They all jumped out of their conversation and faced me. They formed a smile on their lips, and I smiled back. I sat between Alex and Rebecca seeing a cut up apple on my plate and a glass of orange juice. I gave Rebecca and Alex a weird look.

"You didn't have to do this. I can do it myself," I said. Really, I appreciate this, but that doesn't mean they should've done it. They smiled at me.

"Its your birthday, silly! Of course we did!" Rebecca exclaimed, giving me a side hug. I gasped. I completely forgot my own birthday!

"I totally forgot it was my birthday…" I admitted, putting both of my hands on both sides of my cheeks in surprise.

"Who forgets their 17th birthday?" Alex asked in a jokingly way. I chuckled.

"Me, apparently," I said, still chuckling.

"Well, eat! You don't wanna miss the bus, now don't you!?" Rebecca yelled at me, pointing at my food. I rolled my eyes. That's Rebecca for you. Always being the bossy girl she is.

"Okay ma'am," I said, eating the apple slices like I was ordered to and took a sip of my orange juice.

A few minutes later, I was done. When I looked at the time, it was already 6:27. I had three minutes to get to the bus stop, which was good because the bus was usually late.

"I'll see you after school?" I asked, hopefully to Alex and Rebecca. They nodded and I waved goodbye. I then looked at my Aunt and Uncle who were silent this whole time. They just waved. I waved back, confused at their silence, but I ignored it. I had to get to the bus stop.

I walked out the door and ran to the stop. The bus was nowhere in sight and I sighed in relief. I looked beside me and saw Tucker, glaring at me. I raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

He shook his head. "Nothing. Just can't believe how ugly you are." I gasped and put my hands on my hips.

"Oh yeah? Well maybe you should look in the mirror. Oh wait, you can't," I insulted. My arms now crossed my chest. He narrowed his eyes at me and stuck his pointing finger to my face.

"Never insult me like that!" Tucker yelled.

"Or what?"

"I'll-" He was cut off when the bus pulled up.

"Oops, too late," I said, smirking and climbed on the bus.

When I got to school and opened the Casper High doors, I had a terrible feeling creep into me. Even if it's my birthday, I got a feeling that today was going to be my worse. But I shook it off as paranoia. Yeah… I was just paranoid.

I walked to my locker, and as usual, Danny was there, looking for his books and papers. I rolled my eyes and opened my locker, simply pulled out the books I needed for class, opened my bag to get my homework… which I did in class yesterday… and put my bag in and closed the locker. I turned and saw Danny still trying to find his papers.

"Maybe if you cleaned your locker, you wouldn't have this problem," I said to him. He gave me a glare and scoffed.

"Don't judge me," he hissed. I put my hands up in defense.

"Hey, I'm just saying," I defended myself.

"Whatever," was the last thing he said before turning back to his locker, groaning when he couldn't find what he needed. The bell then rang, making the groan become louder.

"Good luck," I said sarcastically and headed to my first class, ignoring Danny's protests.

I sat down next to Valerie, putting my books down on the desk with a sigh. I turned to her, seeing that she was staring at me. I raised an eyebrow at her.

"What?" I asked. She shook her head.

"Nothing," she replied. "You okay?"

"Yeah fine. Why?"

"No reason. You just seem like you're pissed off right now," Valerie noted. I sighed.

"Sorry, I ran into Tucker at the bus stop and Danny at my locker-" I was cut off by Valerie.

"You talked to Tucker!? How is he!? What did he say!?" I jumped in surprise my her action. I shook my head.

"Yes, and I don't know. But he did say that he noticed how ugly I was and I told him off," I said. Valerie narrowed her eyes.

"HE. DID. WHAT!?" She yelled, loud enough so the whole class could hear. They looked in our direction and we both blushed.

"Go back to your own business people!" I shouted at them. They merely shrugged and went back to whatever they were doing. I sighed. "Yeah, he did. On my birthday." Valerie gasped.

"Its your birthday today!?" Valerie asked in a loud voice again as soon as Danny walked in. "Why didn't you tell me!? I would've gotten you a present!"

"I actually forgot…" I said with a chuckle. Valerie laughed.

"Who forgets their own birthday?" she asked herself, laughing like an idiot. I smiled.

"That's what Alex said…" I mumbled under my breath. She looked at me.

"What was that?" she asked after she stopped laughing.

"Nothing," I said. Mr. Lancer then came in. "Come on, let's actually focus." She laughed.

"Yes ma'am."

Lunch has finally arrived and the bad feeling I had when I walked through the doors this morning came back once I stepped into the cafeteria. I went into the lunch line, and unfortunately for me, Paulina was behind me. I sighed in annoyance. She was going to start bullying me, I knew it.

And I was right.

"Goth Freak," Paulina hissed. "Let me cut you." I turned around to face her, eyebrow raised.

"Excuse me? Do you think your some kind of princess?" I asked insultingly. She smirked.

"I'm the most popular girl in school so that means I am a princess. Now move, witch!" She was going to cut me and I blocked her way.

"Just because you're popular, doesn't mean you're special," I said. She scoffed.

"Uh, yeah it does! Do you see everyone treating me like a queen?"

"They're using you to be popular. They don't really like you," I said, truthfully. She raised an eyebrow.

"Do you think I really give a crap?" she asked in a non-caring voice. I crossed my arms.

"You should because I promise you, the second you graduate high school, those 'friends' you have, won't be contacting you anymore and you'd be on your own with no friends whatsoever," I said. She huffed and ran away from the lunch line to Danny. I rolled my eyes and continued down the lunch line.

Once I got my lunch, I sat across from Valerie. She smiled and I smiled back. I took a bite of my salad and a sip on my water. I looked up to Valerie to see her hand on her chin while her elbow sat on the table. She looking behind my shoulder. I turned around to see it was Tucker, sitting alone. I looked back at her.

"Wanna sit with him?" I asked her. She jerked her head up and smiled.

"Really?" I shrugged.

"Why not?"

We moved our lunch and sat at Tucker's table, with Valerie sitting beside Tucker and I sitting across from them. He looked at us.

"What do you guys want?" he asked harshly. I raised an eyebrow.

"We just came to give you company," I explained, crossing my arms. He groaned.

"Just stay away from me!" he yelled and got up from his seat and stormed off. I looked at Valerie to see her saddened face.

"Its okay, Val. He'll come around," I comforted. She gave me a sad smile. I gave her a smile in return.

"Thanks." But before I could reply, Paulina and her stupid boyfriend (Danny) came up to us. I growled. If they wanted to mess with us again, now was not the time.

"What do you want?" I asked, sounding like Tucker when he said that. Paulina smirked.

"Oh nothing… But I heard that its your birthday, slut." I gave them a confused look.

"How did you-" I was cut off by Danny.

"I heard Valerie say that when I walked into class this morning," he answered, no emotion in his voice.

"Now we're going to make your day living hell," Paulina threatened. I crossed my arms and stood up, facing her.

"How so, shallow witch?" She narrowed her eyes.

"Like this," she said, grabbing someone's tray of spaghetti and throwing it at me. Spaghetti sauce filled my face and shirt and I had my mouth shaped like an 'O', which led to getting sauce and some noodles in my mouth. I spit them out, and when I did, it splattered on Paulina's 'perfect' shirt.

"Oops," I said sarcastically. Her face boiled in anger.

"Oh, its on you little ugly goth freak!" Paulina yelled and slapped me across the face. "You are worthless! Why did you come here at all? Its not like people care about you here! Like you said in the lunch line, they're probably using you! Like Valerie over there. She's just using you so it'll seem like she does have friends, but really doesn't! You are a slut, ugly, loser, and freak of nature that doesn't belong here! Look around you! Do you see anybody you gives a crap about you!? I'm the princess! I'm the queen! And you? You are the ugly fat loser who no one sees because you are invisible to the world! So do us a favor and go kill yourself!"

My heart stopped. I couldn't breathe. I always said that words didn't affect me, but the end of that speech, something hit me. Hard. She maybe wrong, but I had another side of me telling me that she was right. I mean, look at me. I'm no beautiful princess. I'm not lovable like most people are. And its clear on how I don't belong here. Or a matter of fact, anywhere. I now understood the feeling when I first walked in here. And I'd rather have that pain than this pain that's killing me right now.

I saw Valerie stand up. She walked towards Paulina and slapped her in the face. Everyone gasped. Valerie, the girl who was afraid to stand up to Paulina, had slapped her. Paulina narrowed her eyes. She was going to slap back, but Valerie caught her wrists.

"You are a shallow witch. No… the right word for this situation is shallow bitch," Valerie insulted. "You are a cruel, cruel person who has this needy desire to destroy any human being that gets in her way. You think you're perfect. You think you have it all. The looks, the popularity, the hot boys, the 'perfect' friends, a rich family, everything! But what you don't have that is the most important is a heart. Your so called boyfriend here has been drooling all over you since freshman year and the poor kid has been humiliated by you while trying to ask you out. But he still chased you because he even said to me he was falling in love with you. And what do you know? The second he gets a six pack, you ask him on a date and then the next day, you go on and cheat on him with another guy. So don't call Sam a slut, or ugly, or a loser, or a freak of nature. Because all those things describe you," Valerie ended the speech, taking a deep breath.

Paulina was shocked; paralyzed. When she finally registered what she said, tears started forming in her eyes and she ran away. Valerie went over to me and hugged me. I hugged back. After our hug, I looked at Danny. He was staring at me, his eyes filled with guilt and sadness. I looked down to my feet, remembering Paulina's words. They still hurt.

Just then part of the ceiling fell, landing in between Danny and I. I looked up to see a ghost floating through the air. And the ghost wasn't like any other ghosts… It was Vlad.

I panicked. He was here for me. I then started to run for it, but Vlad appeared in front of me, grinning evilly at me. I yelped. He had me trapped.

"Where do you think your going, Miss Manson?" he asked, his voice low and evil.

"None of your business, ghost," I hissed. Then I gasped. This was just like the dream I had. Vlad pushed me to the floor. I groaned. I then looked to see Danny punching him in the side.

"Sam, go! Run!" Danny yelled at me. Vlad got up and blasted Danny with a ghost ray. Even if he's a jerk, I can't leave him!

"No, I won't!" I yelled back. Vlad smirked.

"Well, in that case…" he trailed off and punched me in the stomach, making sure I was too much in pain to run away, and lifted me over his shoulders. Unconscious was overwhelming me. I felt Vlad lift off the floor and I knew we were floating. I took one last look at Danny.

But instead of those baby blue eyes…

His eyes were green.

Haha! Leaving it there! ;)

Well, I hope you liked it! Nice and long… But a little rusty on the writing, don't you think? Eh, I haven't been writing in a while so give me a break xD

Anyway, what will happen? Why were Danny's eyes green? Will Phantom save her?

Find out in Chapter 15! :D
