A/N: REGIONALS! Last fluffy chapter for a while... This is a drama/angst story right? Haha :P

PLEASE enjoy, favorite, follow and REVIEW!
The rest of winter break wasn't highly eventful. Santana and Dani snuck away to have their new years kiss together, and Santana knew she had never felt more special from a single kiss than from that one. She was in so deep, falling so fast and hard that she knew soon she would hit it. She would soon be in love with Dani Taylor.
But she wasn't ready to tell her girlfriend that yet. They'd only officially been together for a month and a half, known each other for two and a half months. It was too soon for love.
It was real though, Santana knew that now. When she did tell Dani that she loved her, whenever it was, she would tell her that as well. It worked, Dani convinced Santana that love was indeed real. If, in fact, that was what she was feeling for this blue-haired beauty.
School started up again at the beginning of January, and nothing really felt different except for her feelings for Dani, which were even still increasing. Santana had a feeling that they wouldn't ever stop increasing either.
Everyone in Glee was getting hyped up for Regionals, which were toward the end of January. Santana and Dani didn't have a duet this time, but they did get their own verses to sing in the big group number. Rachel, of course, got the solo, and then there was a girls only number that each girl got to feature in.
While working on their weekly Glee lessons, everyone also spent a ton of time rehearsing for Regionals. They were going to win it this year. They were going to beat their competition, those preppy Dalton Academy Warblers, and the Oral Intensity group that had beat them at second place at their regionals last year. Honestly, everyone was happy to save the competition with Vocal Adrenaline for last, since they would be the hardest competition. Of course, there were also forty-eight other show choirs at nationals besides the New Directions and Vocal Adrenaline, so there was all sorts of scenarios that could play out.
It wasn't time for Nationals yet, though, so everyone stayed focused for Regionals.
When the day for Regionals finally came, Santana found herself overjoyed. They were driving further than before, to Columbus, Ohio, for the competition. And this time around, Santana and Dani were in a good place, a great one actually, and that helped a lot.
"Is everyone here?" Shue called in front of the bus, where they were all standing clumped together and waiting to climb on the big yellow bus.
"All here, Mr. Shue!" Rachel piped up helpfully.
"Great, c'mon everyone, get on the bus!" he shouted, and everyone squeezed into the bus, claiming their seats. Dani and Santana took one to their self of course, but everyone else spread throughout the twenty seats. There were, after all, not even twenty of them total.
It occurred to Santana that people might wonder why they sat together, but no one questioned it, so she tried not to worry. Everyone knew that Dani and Santana were good friends.
However as the bus ride started, Dani did move over to the seat across from Santana just so that they could have more space. Santana was kind of disappointed at the loss of closeness between them, but she planned to secretly hold her hand through the competition's performances.
"We should sing something you guys!" Rachel exclaimed.
"The wheels on the bus go round and round!" Tina sang out, before cutting off and laughing with everyone.
"I wish we could've sang Don't Stop Believing for Regionals like we did last year," Artie commented.
"You guys did Don't Stop last year?" Dani asked with a frown. "Man, I love that song."
Rachel smiled slyly around the bus, and everyone suddenly broke out in "da, da, da"s. Dani grinned when she heard it, and Santana flashed her a wide smile as well.
They sang it in the same order as they had for Regionals, with everyone keeping their same parts. Santana remembered feeling so proud that she'd gotten her own part in the song.
They got to the end though, and Dani finally joined in.
"Don't stop believing!
Hold on to that feeling!
Street lights, people!
Don't stop!"
Everyone cheered and clapped, grinning from ear to ear. It was no lie that they had all become like a family over that song. "Maybe we can do it again for Nationals," Mercedes suggested. "I had some pretty killer high notes in that song."
"You should've heard us last year at Regionals, Dani. We did a Journey medley. Faithfully, a mash up of Anyway You Want It and Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin, and then Don't Stop Believing," Santana told her girlfriend.
"Man, I love Journey. They're like my guilty pleasure," she commented with a bashful shrug.
The bus ride continued, full of chatter and singing for the whole ride to Columbus. When they got there, they grabbed their things and rushed into the building. They had ten minutes to be in the auditorium to watch the first two groups perform, and then there was an intermission during which they would get ready to sing their songs. They had drawn the last slot. They would be the freshest on the judges minds when they went into discussion.
Oral Intensity, the group that had beat them last year, did some song about Jesus that Santana thought was totally lame. They were practically bribing the judges with it. Plus, one of the judges was a nun, so it was obvious that they were tipped off. Santana had a good time grumbling about that one.
During the second performance, the Warblers sang some a capella love song, and while it wasn't winning material in Santana's opinion, it was a nice song. She found herself grabbing Dani's hand in the middle of it, knowing that no one would see in the dark auditorium.
After the Warblers performed, and everyone was clapping, an announcer came over the speakers and said, "We will now have a fifteen minute intermission before our final group! Concessions are available out the doors and to your left! Half of the proceeds will be donated to the 'Save A Fish Foundation'!"
Santana ignored that confusing charity as the New Directions stood and rushed out of the auditorium and toward their green room. She found herself getting a little nervous, which was weird since she didn't even have a solo in this competition.
"Alright guys, I know that we can do this," Mr. Shue told them when they were all gathered in a group in the green room. "Last year, we fell short a little bit, but Oral Intensity was just trying to bribe the judges. The Warblers were good, but they don't have what it takes to get to Nationals."
"We got this, Mr. Shue," Mercedes agreed with a nod. "We're going to go out there and make it clear to those judges that we got what it takes to go to Nationals."
"That's the kind of attitude I wanna hear! Okay, let's do some runs before we go out there," Shue suggested, moving to the piano and playing the middle c key.
"La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la!"
They ran through a bunch of different runs and warm ups, and then they gathered in another circle. "We're ready." Everyone put their hands in the middle, and chanted, "New Directions!", just before the lights above them flashed and a dinging noise could be heard. Their cue.
Rachel grabbed her mic as they walked onto the backstage. Everyone bid her good luck as she stepped out onto stage and began to sing.
The next number was the girls' number, so they all gathered and made sure everyone knew their part. Santana felt just a little nervous now. She knew that they had it in the bag.
When Rachel finished, everyone cheered and gave her, of course, a standing ovation. Then they all heard her voice saying, "Ladies and gentlemen! The New Directions!"
The rest of the girls started in from the sides, singing the first part of their song as they did so.
"Ahh, ahh, ahh!"
Quinn started first.
"I wore red 'cause you liked that.
You're like hey, let me get that.
But when I text, you don't text back.
No you didn't 'cause you didn't care."
Tina sang after her.
"Well the game makes me crazy,
It's like yes, no, maybe.
And you're calling me baby.
When I know that you just don't care."
Rachel.
"Whoa, oh oh!
Saying that I'll quit but it's just not true,
Like whoa, oh oh!
I say I don't like it but you know I do 'cause!"
All the girls, meeting at the middle of the stage and forming in their lines.
"You make me feel so right!
Even if it's so wrong!
I wanna scream out loud, boy,
But I just bite my tongue!"
Santana.
"This one's for the girls,
Messing with the boys!
Dani.
"Like, he's the melody,
And she's background noise!"
Everyone again.
"Baby why can't you see?
It feels so good,
But you're so bad for me!
Oh, oh!
Feels so good,
But you're so bad for me!
Oh, oh!
Feels so good,
But you're so bad for me!"
Mercedes.
"Always want what I can't have!
Give it all, never get half!
You're like girl where you been at?
And I really wanna just not care!"
Rachel, with Mercedes belting out in harmony notes in the background.
"But, whoa, oh oh!
Saying that I'll quit but it's just not true!
Like whoa, oh oh!
I say I don't like it but you know I do 'cause!"
Everyone.
"You make me feel so right!
Even if it's so wrong!
I wanna scream out loud, boy,
But I just bite my tongue!"
Santana.
"This one's for the girls,
Messing with the boys!"
Dani.
"Like, he's the melody,
And she's background noise!"
Everyone.
"Baby why can't you see?
It feels so good,
But you're so bad for me!
Oh, oh!
Feels so good,
But you're so bad for me!
Oh, oh!
Feels so good,
But you're so bad for me!"
Quinn and Tina together.
"I'm dying tonight,
Trying to hide!
Hide what I'm feeling, I'm feeling,
Like I'm dying tonight,
To keep it inside!
When I say hello should be saying goodbye!"
They finished off the last chorus together, Dani and Santana taking their individual parts again, and Mercedes belting out the highest background notes, and making them sound a billion times better. By the time they ended, the entire audience was on their feet cheering.
The girls all flashed each other grins, and then hopped up onto the riser steps at the back of the stage. The lights dimmed as the boys entered from the wings and joined the girls in their correct spot.
The music started, the lights slowly turning brighter as it played. Santana absolutely loved this song, and it's intro music especially.
Artie started with his shout/singing.
"Yeah, ya'll know what it is! New Directions! Uh-huh! Let's rain!"
The guys started louder, with the girls echoing behind them, which gave the song a different feel, since it was a Katy Perry song.
"I knew you were,
You were gonna come to me.
And here you are,
But you better choose carefully.
'Cause I,
I'm capable of anything,
Of anything,
And everything."
The girls stepped forward in the group, walk/dancing through their routine as they started singing the next part.
"Make me your Aphrodite,
Make me your one and only,
But don't make me,
Your enemy,
Your enemy,
Your enemy..."
The guys.
"So you wanna play with magic?
Girl you should know what you're falling for!
Baby do you dare do this!
'Cause I'm coming at you like a dark horse!"
The girls.
"Are you ready for,
Ready for,
A perfect storm,
Perfect storm?
'Cause once you're mine,
Once you're mine!"
The guys.
"There's no goin back!"
They went back to the girls in the background with the guys singing lead.
"Mark my words,
This love with make you levitate,
Like a bird,
Like a bird without a cage,
We're down to earth,
If you choose to walk away,
Don't walk away."
The girls.
"It's in the palm of your hand now baby,
It's a yes or a no, not maybe,
So just be sure,
Before you give it up to me,
Up to me,
Give it up to me!"
The boys.
"So you wanna play with magic?
Girl you should know what you're falling for!
Baby do you dare do this?
'Cause I'm coming at you like a dark horse!"
The girls, the guys shouting "hey"s in the background.
"Are you ready for,
Ready for,
A perfect storm,
Perfect storm,
'Cause once you're mine,
Once you're mine!"
The guys.
"There's no goin back!"
Artie rapped next, with Puck, Sam, Finn, Kurt and Mike all giving him backup.
"She's a beast,
I call her karma.
She eat your heart out,
Like Jeffrey Dahmer,
Be careful,
Try not to lead her on,
Shawty's heart was on steroids,
'Cause her love was so strong!
You may fall in love when you meet her!
If you get the chance,
You better keep her!
She swears by it but if you break her heart,
She turn cold as a freezer!
That fairy tale ending with a knight in shining armor,
She can be my Sleeping Beauty,
I'ma put her in a coma!"
Puck.
"Woo!
Damn, I think I love her,
Shawty so bad I'm sprung and I don't care,
She got me like a roller coaster,
Turn the bedroom into a fair!
Her love is like a drug,
I was tryna hit and quit it,
But lil' mama so dope,
I messed around and got addicted!"
They finished with the last chorus of this song as well, and got yet another standing ovation. The New Directions were on a roll. Santana knew as they all grabbed each other in hugs that they had this. No way was anyone going to beat them.
Just a few minutes later, they were standing to the left of the stage, with Oral Intensity and the Warblers standing clumped over to their right. One of the judges walked out on stage, holding three cards.
"Wow, I think we all had a great night listening to these great performances! But now it's time to announce our winners!"
Everyone grabbed each other's hands, and Santana squeezed Dani's tightly. Her girlfriend gave her a soothing smile, and Santana couldn't help but want to kiss her so badly. She would save for later, when they were sure to have some sort of private victory party.
"In third place, Oral Intensity!" the judge announced. Groans came from the center of the stage as the Oral Intensity coach grabbed their small trophy and they all left the stage. The remaining two groups scooted in, and everyone in the entire auditorium seemed to be holding their breath.
"Now, in first place... from William McKinley High, The New Directions!" the judge announced.
Confetti fell in abundance over them as they screamed and cheered and grabbed each other in hugs. Santana actually found herself kissing Dani for a brief second, before she pulled away quickly and blushed. Dani laughed at her. No one had seen them, they were all too caught up in their own hugs and cheers.
They ran off stage cheering. "We did it you guys! We're going to Nationals in New York!"
