A/N: Fanfiction changed their Copy And Paste uploading process and I am freaking annoyed as hell at it. I'm going to try to upload this via the "file attachment" uploading, and hopefully it will work. Otherwise, it appears that there is no way to italicize or bold or anything. I'm a little pissed at this situation and will be emailing Fanfiction support or something about this. Lol.

Santana groaned as she rolled over in her bed. She started when she didn't bump into anyone. Her eyes opened instantly. That hadn't all been some crazy dream, had it? She sat up and looked around urgently. "Dani?"
"I'm in here," her voice came from the bathroom. Santana sighed, relieved, and fell against her pillow.
A minute later, Dani crawled back under the covers next to Santana. "Sorry, I was only gone for a minute," Dani apologized.
"It's okay," Santana replied, curling into the blonde. For someone that had hurt her so badly, Dani made Santana feel pretty amazing.
Dani wrapped her arms around the Latina, who sighed happily. "You know, you're really beautiful when you sleep."
Santana felt her cheeks flushing dark red, and she buried her face into Dani's neck shyly. "When do you have to leave, again?"
"Saturday," Dani replied softly. She began to stroke Santana's hair, and the Latina practically melted in the blonde's arms. She felt so save. Safer than she'd ever felt, and it was amazing.
"So we're going to have to make the best of the next four days, huh?" Santana asked.
"Mmhmm," Dani answered. "What do you think we should do?"
There was suddenly a knock on the door. "Girls, we're leaving for the hospital. I made some pancakes and they're keeping warm in the oven!" came her Mami's voice.
"Gracias, Mami! Have a good day," Santana called back. They heard the older Latina walking back downstairs, and Santana inhaled Dani's scent deeply. "We should start by going to get some pancakes."
"Sounds good to me," Dani replied with a chuckle. "But I really don't wanna get up."
"Me either," Santana agreed, but then she pulled away from the blonde and placed a chaste kiss on her lips. "C'mon."
She stood up and extended a hand down to Dani, who took it gratefully and stood up as well.
Downstairs, they each ate a couple pancakes while they talked about what they should do for the day. They tossed ideas back and forth, but none of them really sounded appealing or special. And Santana really wanted these four days that she had with Dani to be special, since she would be going back to LA afterward.
"Oh, I have an idea," she piped up. Dani looked at her expectantly. "We should go get ice cream. At the one little ice cream shop that we went to when we ditched class that one time."
"Sounds good to me," Dani agreed. Santana grinned, and they went back upstairs to get changed and fix their hair and makeup a little bit. As they left the house and headed down to Dani's car, the blonde said quietly, "Maybe after we can go see Quinn and Rachel. I really don't want them to hate me forever."
"If you want to," Santana agreed. "So, my parents said they're going to finally buy me a car this summer."
Dani flashed Santana a grin. "Awesome. What kind?"
"I don't know yet. I really like your car," Santana admitted. Dani smiled.
"Well, as long as you can get around, right?" Dani asked with a chuckle. "I'm not a big car person."
"Me either," Santana agreed. "So, did everyone in LA miss you a lot?"
"Some people did. Anna, mainly. They still probably miss me. I didn't get out of the house much except for school when I got back," Dani admitted.
Santana nodded slowly. "So, when do I get to meet Anna?"
"Whenever you want," Dani replied. "You just have to come down to LA."
"What day is your graduation?"
"The last day of May, I think," Dani answered.
"Ten days after your birthday?" Santana asked. May 21st. That was a date that Santana wouldn't ever forget. Dani's birthday.
"Mmhmm."
Santana thought for a moment. "So, when's your prom?"
Dani smiled slightly. "Why? Do you wanna go to prom with me?"
Santana felt herself blushing for whatever reason. "Don't you want to go to prom with me?"
"Of course," Dani answered with a chuckle. "I think it's the Saturday before graduation."
"So, if I wanted to go to both of those things, I'd pretty much have to skip out on a week of school," Santana stated.
"You don't have to—"
"But I want to," Santana insisted. "I don't want you to go to your senior prom by yourself, or not at all. And what kind of girlfriend would I be if I wasn't at your graduation?"
Santana blushed right after she realized what she said, and Dani blushed as well. Girlfriend. It felt like they still were. As if nothing had happened between them. "Well, if you and your parents are cool with you skipping school for a week, it would be kind of awesome to have you there for that long."
"They'll understand," Santana insisted, although she was a little upset that Dani had just brushed off Santana's slip up. Why was she upset, though? She was the one that needed to be taking this slow. Rebuild up trust and everything, right?
The problem was that she trusted Dani so much, even after what happened.
"Dani...?" Santana asked carefully, looking over at the blonde as they parked in front of the ice cream shop.
"Yeah?" Dani answered, looking at the Latina.
"I-I know I said I wanted to take this all slower, or whatever... and like date unofficially or whatever... b-but I dunno... I already trust you more than I probably should..." Santana took a deep breath. "Basically what I'm saying is that I really want you to be my girlfriend again."
Dani locked eyes with the Latina. "A-are you sure? I don't want to push you any faster than you want to go."
"I'm sure, Dani," Santana answered. "I love you too much to have us not be officially together."
"Well, if you're sure, then I'd love to be your girlfriend again, Santana," Dani replied, biting her lower lip and then leaning forward to peck Santana's lips. However, when the blonde tried to pull back, Santana just followed her movement to keep their lips together for a few seconds longer.
When she pulled away, they were both grinning. "Okay, so let's go get some ice cream." They went inside the shop, ordered their ice cream, sat down and began to eat it. "Maybe we can meet Rach and Q at Breadstix or something."
"Okay," Dani answered. Then she chuckled. "We probably won't be very hungry, though. We just had pancakes and now we're having ice cream."
"Well, we can just munch on breadsticks then," Santana suggested, smiling widely.
"Sounds like a plan!"
DDD
"Oh hey," Santana said as she took out her phone. "There's, uh, a party on Friday. It's a Glee party, and really, only Glee members are invited... but everyone really misses you, and maybe you could come with? I already promised everyone I'd go, and it wouldn't be very nice of me to leave you all alone anyway."
Dani smiled at her girlfriend. Santana was literally the cutest person that Dani had ever seen. "Sure, as long as they don't all hate me."
Santana rolled her eyes. "Well, here's the test run. If we can calm Rachel and Quinn, then everyone else at the party will be a piece of cake."
Dani swallowed thickly and nodded. She was kind of scared about Rachel. Even though Quinn was always labeled as Santana's best friend, Rachel had been the one to know about Dani and Santana from the start. Therefore, she was probably much more angry with the blonde than Quinn.
"Well, they both agreed to meet us at Breadstix in an hour, so that's a start," Santana said, setting down her phone and giving Dani an reassuring smile. "Dani, they know how much I love you, and they know how much you love me. They'll find it in their hearts to forgive you, I know it."
Dani sighed, and then smiled and nodded. Santana was right, of course. Quinn and Rachel would forgive her. They'd understand.
They got to Breadstix right when they were supposed to, and got seated at a table for four. Just minutes after, Rachel came storming over to them after she entered the restaurant. "Danielle Taylor, you have some explaining to do."
"Rachel, I already told you everything yesterday," Dani insisted. "I thought I was doing the right thing, but I know now that I wasn't. And I know it was a damn big mistake, but everyone makes mistakes. Santana and I are okay now, and you hating me isn't going to change that."
Quinn approached them before anything else could be said. "Well, I see Rachel is fuming once again."
"Well excuse me for being a little protective over Santana," Rachel snapped at Quinn, who rolled her eyes and moved past Rachel to sit in the empty booth opposite of Dani and Santana. Rachel, still scowling, sat next to her.
"I seriously don't see the big problem," Quinn admitted. "Dani made a mistake. I never saw Santana happier than she was last January. Not even when she was with Brittany. Alright, if that doesn't show something, then I don't know what will. If you two want to be together again, I'm all for it. Honestly, you make a pretty cute couple."
"Thank you, Quinn," Santana said to the blonde with a genuine smile. Under the table, she took Dani's hand in her own. Dani felt herself relax a lot from the touch.
Rachel was looking between them carefully. "So... you guys are still unofficial?"
"U-uh," Dani stuttered out, looking at Santana.
"Seriously? One day you've been talking, and you're already girlfriends again?" Rachel demanded.
"Rachel, you don't get it!" Santana snapped. "I trust Dani, even though she made a mistake. I made plenty of mistakes at the end of last year when we were just getting together. She stuck with me through all of them. Why shouldn't I forgive her for the one mistake she made with me? She apologized, and I'm still so in love with her. It's just not possible for us to be unofficial or not exclusive. We all know that we weren't going to go date anyone else anyway."
"I'll say it again, Rachel," Dani piped up, "I love Santana. I love her so much that it scares me, okay? I was scared of holding her back. I figured that once I came back to LA, she would just move on with her life or meet someone new, and I'd be holding her back. And please keep in mind that I didn't know that she loved me when that all happened."
"I still don't see how Santana can trust that you won't let her go again," Rachel muttered.
"I came back to Lima with no real expectations. In fact, there was even a part of me that thought that she'd start beating me up or something. It's all her call for trusting me again, but I can assure you that I will do everything I can to assure her that she can trust me. I'm coming back here in June, and I'm not leaving until she graduates. I swear."
Rachel stared at Dani without falter. Dani was actually almost scared at how intensely the brunette was staring at her, but she held her ground and just stared right back. "Fine. I guess I can give you another chance."
Dani sighed happily. "Then can you stop referring to me as 'Danielle Taylor'?"
They all laughed at that, and the waiter came to see if they wanted anything to eat. While Quinn and Rachel ordered some food, Dani and Santana stole a triumphant kiss from one another.
Just another big step in the right direction.
The word fuming makes me think of steam coming out of people's ears, so now I'm picturing Rachel with steam coming out of her ears.
What.
