"Don't leave," Santana begged, tightening her arms around Dani, who had just said that she should probably be getting ready. They had only just woken up, but she had to leave relatively early in the day if she wanted to get home in decent time. She'd actually convinced her mom to let her leave on Saturday instead of Friday, because it would actually take about thirty hours to drive all the way to LA. She wouldn't be getting home until late Sunday night.

"You know I don't want to, babe, but I have to," Dani whispered out, giving Santana a soft kiss. "We will face time everyday, and we can call each other when exciting things happen, or if we're bored, and we can obviously text each other whenever. It's going to be as if we're right next to each other."

Santana frowned. "I hope you're right."

"Do you love me?" Dani asked.

"Of course," Santana answered, furrowing her eyebrows.

"Then everything is going to be fine. Because I love you, and you love me, and that's all that matters... okay?" Dani asked. Santana nodded that she understood. "C'mon, you can help me get ready."

"Does that mean I get to take a shower with you?" Santana asked, her eyes darkening.

"I don't think we have time for a shower that long," Dani admitted, but she placed a kiss on her girlfriend's lips before Santana could frown. "Please don't act too sad. I'm already barely keeping it together."

Santana nodded. "Okay."

Santana went to make sure all of Dani's stuff was packed while Dani got changed and brushed her teeth and hair. When she was done, she sighed and stared at herself in the mirror for a second. She really, really wished that she didn't have to leave Santana behind again.

At least this time, she was only physically leaving her behind.

She walked back into the bedroom from the bathroom and saw Santana pulling one of Dani's sweat shirts out of her suitcase. "What are you doing?" Dani asked as she approached the Latina.

"It smells like you," is all Santana said.

Dani gave a small smile. "You can keep it, if you want. I have plenty of sweatshirts."

Santana looked up with sparkling eyes. "I can?"

"Of course. Plus, you look hot in my clothes," Dani replied, leaning toward her girlfriend to place a quick kiss on her lips. "I should probably get going, though."

Santana frowned and sighed, giving in an nodding. She walked Dani downstairs. "You have money for gas and food, right?" Santana asked, concerned.

Dani nodded, trying to force a smile. "Yep."

Santana hesitated, and then she grabbed Dani in a tight hug, which Dani returned just as tightly. "I love you so much, Dani. I'm so glad we made up."

"Me too, Santana. I love you more than I've ever loved anyone else," Dani promised. They pulled apart and Dani gave her girlfriend a final kiss. "I'll see you soon?"

Santana gave a weak smile and nodded. Dani squeezed her hand, and then they walked outside and down to Dani's car. The blonde stuffed her bag into the back and then made her way to the drivers side.

"I'll text you at my first stop, alright?" Dani said to her girlfriend, who gave another weak smile and nodded. "We're going to be okay, Santana. I'm never letting you go again."

"And I'm not letting you go again either," Santana agreed. "Drive safely, babe."

"I will," Dani promised, getting into the car. Before the door closed, Santana rushed to steal one last kiss. Dani kissed her back firmly, and then gave her an encouraging smile before closing the door and starting her car. As she finally started driving, she grinned in the mirror at her girlfriend, who was blowing kisses and waving like the dork she was.

Dani sure was going to miss being with her all the time, but she and Santana would make this work.

Thirty hours in a car is like hell. Especially when you only stop for a two hour rest in a rest stop, and eat only twice. She did have to stop multiple times to go to the bathroom, though, and she texted both her mom and her girlfriend to let them both know that she was still fine and dandy.

She finally made it back to LA on Sunday night. As she parked in her driveway, she pulled out her phone to text her girlfriend.

To Santana- Home! Already missing you so much!

From Santana- Glad you're home safe! I'm about to head to bed, I love you!

To Santana- Love you too!

Dani got out of the car, grabbed her bag from the back, and went into her house.

"Danielle!" her mom exclaimed happily upon seeing she'd just came inside. "I take it everything went well?"

Dani gave her mom a smile. "Better than I thought it would, that's for sure."

"Well... since I'm trying to do this right," her mom started, looking as though she was gathering her thoughts. "What happened?"

Dani tried not to chuckle at her mom. It was really nice that she was finally trying to be in on Dani's love life and situation. The blonde really appreciated it actually, so she didn't hesitate to talk to her mom. What was the worst that could happen, anyway? Her mom had already said that she was going to try her best to accept her.

"We talked for a while, and we forgave each other, and she forgave me. Her parents approved of us getting back together, and so did her friends," Dani answered.

"So, you two are... back together?" her mom asked slowly.

Dani tried again not to laugh and nodded. "Yeah, we are. She uh— she's probably going to come down at the end of the school year for a week. The week of my prom and graduation."

"I'm guessing she's going to be your date?" her mom asked with a hint of a smile. Dani smiled proudly and nodded. "So what about after high school?"

Whoops. She hadn't told her mom about her plan yet. "Oh," Dani said, caught off guard by the question. She quickly regained her composure and told her mother, "I have to prove to Santana that I won't leave her again. She and I already planned this out. I'm going to go to the Lima Community College to get my basics done while she's finishing high school, and we're both going to go somewhere together after we're both done."

Her mom opened her mouth to say something, but then closed it a few seconds later.

"I'm sorry I didn't talk to you about it," Dani apologized, but she wasn't really sorry. It was her decision.

"No, don't be sorry. Have the application deadlines ended, though?" her mom wondered, concerned.

"No, I looked it up. Since it's a community school, they accept late applications. I'm going to send mine in tomorrow after school I think," Dani replied. "Right now, though, I think I need to go get some sleep. Thirty hour drives are not my thing."

"Alright, dear. Goodnight, Danielle." Her mom smiled, and Dani returned it, grabbing her bag and making her way upstairs.

She got ready for bed and then finally curled under blankets to fall asleep. But she did send a quick text to her girlfriend.

To Santana- I know you're already sleeping, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for giving us another chance. I won't ever let you down, my love. Goodnight, baby!
