While Rachel was out on stage, Santana found herself getting nervous. They were singing a Kesha song, one of Brittany's favorites, and Brittany was actually going to be there for it. It was a little bit nerve racking honestly. Not to mention that she was also performing in front of Dani, and Dani had usually been up here with them, at least this year.

"You okay, S?" Quinn asked, her hand landing gently on her best friend's wrist.

Santana looked up at the blonde and nodded quickly. "I'm fine. Just nervous."

"Don't be. We got this, remember?" Quinn asked with a smile. Santana returned it and nodded.

"It's just... I dunno. We're performing in front of both of them," Santana muttered.

Quinn frowned. "Santana, you shouldn't be nervous to perform in front of either of them."

Santana took a deep breath, facing away from the blonde. "Yeah, I know, but I am."

"Look, don't think about Dani, don't think about Brittany. Think about the music, think about the smiles that will be on all of our faces when we win, think about the rush of performing. You can't let anything stray your thoughts, okay?" Quinn asked. "Because if you mess up, Rachel will never forgive you."

The last part was a joke, and Santana laughed as she should, but it still made her feel pressured. If she screwed this up, everyone would hate her forever. She had to pull herself together and do her best... or better yet, she had to do better than her best. She had to be winning material. She had to make sure that the New Directions beat the forty-nine other show choirs. They had to beat Vocal Adrenaline.

Rachel ended her song, and the noise of the applause and cheers were clearly coming from a standing crowd.

"Girls! You all are up!" Shue yelled over the noise. Their microphones flickered on, and they all gave each other reassuring looks.

Rachel started from where she was already standing in the middle of the stage.

"Hello. Wherever you are.

Are you dancing on the dance floor,

Or drinking by the bar?

Tonight we do it big,

And shine like stars,

And we don't give a what,

'Cause that's just who we are."

The rest of the girls walked on the stage, singing the next part as Rachel went up to join the line that they'd formed.

"And we are,

We are we are,

We are we are,

The crazy kids,

Them crazy, them crazy kids,

And we are,

We are we are,

We are we are,

The crazy kids,

We are the,

We are the crazy people."

Tina took the next part, stepping forward as she sang.

"I see you in the club,

Showing Kesha's love,

Trippin on them bitches,

That be hating,

Catch a dub, chuckin' deuces,

Ya'll hatin's useless,

It's such a nuisance."

Santana took the next part, stepping up in the front and walking across the stage as the rest of the girls sang background. She did her best to block out the fact that Dani and Brittany were watching her from different parts of the audience. Oh, and Dani's mom, too, she remembered.

"Y'all chickens keep your two cents,

And keep your dollars, keep your loot,

I'm fresher than that Gucci,

Them boys they want my coochie,

I say nope, I'm no hoochie,

Your homegirl hating,

I say who she?"

Quinn sang next, taking Santana's place in front of the other girls.

"Kesha don't give two whats,

I came to start the ruckus,

And you wanna party with us,

'Cause we crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy!"

Mercedes went next, taking the part that Rachel had started out singing.

"Hello. Wherever you are.

Are you dancing on the dance floor,

Or drinking by the bar?

Tonight we do it big,

And shine like stars,

And we don't give a what,

'Cause that's just who we are."

All the girls.

"And we are,

We are we are,

We are we are,

The crazy kids,

Them crazy, them crazy kids,

And we are,

We are we are,

We are we are,

The crazy kids,

We are the..."

The song had been cut short, so they skipped straight to the bridge after that. That was Santana's favorite part of the song, and Brittany's, she remembered. No, don't think about Brittany or Dani or anyone, Santana.

Rachel started the bridge.

"This is all we got and then it's gone,

You call us the crazy ones!"

Tina and Quinn together.

"But we gon' keep on dancing till the dawn..."

Rachel.

"Cause you know the party never ends!"

Quinn.

"And tomorrow we're gonna do it again!"

Tina.

"We're the ones that play hard—"

Rachel.

"We live hard—"

Santana.

"We love hard—"

Mercedes.

"We light up the dark!"

Quinn.

"Hello. Wherever you are.

Are you dancing on the dance floor,

Or drinking by the bar?

Tonight we do it big,

And shine like stars,

And we don't give a what,

'Cause that's just who we are."

All the girls.

"And we are,

We are we are,

We are we are,

The crazy kids,

Them crazy, them crazy kids,

And we are,

We are we are,

We are we are,

The crazy kids,

We are the crazy people."

The lights turned off instantly on stage, leaving the dramatic of the song perfectly. The boys rushed on stage as the audience screamed and cheered and applauded. Santana swore that she could hear Dani cheering, and she smiled at that.

They finished with another Kesha song, and then they gave a bow and headed off stage, grabbing each other in hugs as they did so. "We so got this!" Puck exclaimed.

They audience had been so packed with people that none of the groups performing could go sit down to watch after their performance, so the group went back to their green room.

"I can't believe we're going to be finding out if we won in just another hour or so," Quinn said, grinning.

"We've worked so hard. If we don't get this, I'll probably cry into my pillow all summer," Tina muttered.

"Don't worry, I know we're going to win this," Artie insisted.

Finn added, "And even if we didn't, for whatever reason, we all still have next year for sure."

"True," Mike nodded.

"But even if that's true, we still have to be confident," Sam reminded everyone.

"We should go around and talk about memories from this year," Rachel piped up, sitting up straighter in her chair.

"Let's do it," Kurt agreed.

"I'll go first," Tina suggested. "I loved the duets competition we had."

Santana hardly even remembered it. They did it right after school started, to kick off the year with a friendly competition. She'd done a duet with Mercedes for it, and it'd been pretty amazing. However, Quinn and Sam had won, even though they were so not as good as Santana and Mercedes. That was right after Sam had joined Glee club.

"Me and Santana sounded pretty fierce in that competition," Mercedes remembered with a laugh. "I loved regionals. We rocked that place, and told the world that just because we lost once, doesn't mean that we'd lose again."

"I liked Dani and Santana's duet at sectionals," Puck piped up. "They're voices went amazing together."

Santana smiled at the memory. She was actually busy daydreaming about it as everyone else spoke about their favorite parts of the past year of Glee. "Santana? What about you?" Quinn asked, snapping in front of the Latina's face.

Santana blinked. "I don't know. There's been a lot of good parts of this school year, surprisingly."

"I bet I can sum up the best parts of your year into one word," Rachel piped up. Santana looked at her, raising an eyebrow.

Everyone at once answered with, "Dani."

Santana laughed and found herself blushing. "Maybe."

"I'd have to agree that Dani was one of the best parts of this year," Rachel admitted. "Without her, I wouldn't even be friends with you Santana."

"Aw, don't get all mushy on me, Berry," Santana teased with a wink.

"No, I have to agree," Quinn answered. "Santana and I might never have gotten so close if it weren't for everything that happened with Dani."

"She's like an angel that swooped in to save everything and then fly back out," Artie commented.

"She's coming back," Santana said. When a few people gave her confused looks, it occurred to her that she hadn't told them all about Dani coming back after high school.

"She's uh, going to do her first year of college here, while I'm finishing high school," Santana told them.

"Really? Wow," Puck commented. Santana just nodded in agreement. From one viewpoint, it was kind of a sacrifice on Dani's behalf. From another viewpoint, though, it wasn't a sacrifice at all. They would only have to spend a couple of months apart rather than a year.

They continued talking about the school year until a voice came through the intercom that wasn't show choirs singing. "And now! We will be calling the final three of the fifty show choirs to the stage for final judging! Please welcome back to the stage..."

Everyone stood, grabbing each other's hands and hoping that they would be called.

"From Carmel High, Vocal Adrenaline!"

A pause, while Vocal Adrenaline likely rushed and strutted onto stage.

"From Rosewood High, the Pretty Little Liars!"

A pause, while whatever that group was hurried onto stage. What kind of show choir name was Pretty Little Liars?

"And last, but not least, from William McKinley High, the New Directions!"

Everyone let out the breath they were holding and rushed out of the green room and toward the backstage. Within about thirty seconds, they were clumped on stage next to the other two groups.

The guy standing on stage, who was announcing the winners, dramatically produced two envelopes. He opened one of them slowly. "In third place... the Pretty Little Liars! And then it also says... from A? Alright then."

The Pretty Little Liars sighed and trudged off of stage.

"Now, for first place..."

Santana took Quinn's hand, squeezing it tightly. She wished that she could be squeezing Dani's hand, but this would have to do. Looking out into the crowd, Santana found herself locking eyes with her girlfriend. She was standing next to her mom, who was brunette and looked a lot like Dani. Dani grinned at Santana and gave her a reassuring thumbs up.

"From William McKinley High, The New Directions!"

Confetti started to fall over them, and it took Santana full ten seconds to realize what had happened. She blinked out of her daze and saw that all of her friends were jumping around her and hugging and cheering. She grinned and grabbed Quinn in a huge hug, followed by Rachel and Kurt and Puck, too. She looked out in the crowd and saw Dani cheering loudly.

Santana felt happy tears falling from her eyes. She wiped them away quickly. This year really had been amazing. As she looked into the audience, she caught Brittany's eye as well. The blonde was cheering as well, and gave her a smile. Santana returned it with a small one.

Somehow, they all ended up at the front of the auditorium meeting up with their families and getting ready to go to their victory party.
