One week into summer, and Santana could hardly sit still. Dani was getting to Lima within the next two hours. She'd been driving for hours in her car, which was stuffed with all of her stuff. Since she was driving, she hadn't been able to text Santana except for right before and after her rest break. Although Santana hated not being able to talk to Dani for over thirty hours, she knew it would be worth it when Dani moved into her new apartment in Lima.

To keep herself from pacing a hole into her house, she went outside to wash her brand new car. Her parents had given it to her just the day before, and although it was shiny and new, it had a layer of dust on it from sitting at the car dealer place, and Santana wanted to wash it to officially declare it as hers.

So she went out onto her driveway with a bucket of soapy water, a hose and a sponge, ready to clean the thing. She turned her phone on to blare music and then tied her tank top up behind her, so that it looked almost like a crop top and showed off her stomach. It was nice and warm, the perfect day for a car wash.

She screamed along with her music as she cleaned her car, and the last hour and a half of being without Dani passed by with her hardly noticing. She'd made Dani promise to come and pick her up at her house before going to the apartment. Santana wanted to help Dani settle in as fast as possible.

What Dani didn't know was that Santana's parents and Santana had pitched in some extra money and bought her a super soft, queen sized mattress. Also, they donated her an old dresser, which Santana had taken the time to re-stain. It wasn't much, but it was two things that Dani didn't already have. The apartment came with a bed frame for a queen sized mattress, as well as all the appliances in the kitchen and the bathroom, but that was really it.

Santana was in the process of drying her car when she suddenly felt a pair of arms snake around her waist from behind. Instinctively, the Latina stiffened, but then she relaxed. She could recognize the feel of Dani's skin no matter how long it'd been since she'd seen her. And it'd only been a couple of weeks.

Dropping the towel, Santana turned around inside Dani's embrace, grinning. "Hey, baby," Dani greeted, leaning her forehead against Santana's.

"You're here," Santana breathed out, ecstatic. She closed the distance in between them, joining their lips and their bodies into one. They fit so perfectly together.

Dani pulled away a little and answered, "Yes, I am."

Santana grinned and pecked her girlfriend's lips again. "Let me grab my phone and we can head to your new apartment."

Dani bit back a grin that would've covered her entire face and she nodded. Santana rushed to where her phone was blaring music and then disconnected it from the speakers.

They got into Dani's car to head to the apartment. Santana still could not sit still. She was so excited to have Dani living just fifteen minutes away from her.

They got to the apartment and grabbed the first two boxes on their first trip up. They set them in the living room and then made a few more trips until all of the boxes were up in the apartment, and both girls were physically exhausted from carrying things.

"Alright, where should we start?" Santana asked, still full of energy despite her exhaustion.

"I just wanna lay down and sleep. Too much driving," Dani groaned.

"Okay, so where are you sheets?"

"I don't have a bed yet, babe," Dani reminded her, chuckling.

Santana smirked. "Are you sure?"

Dani raised an eyebrow, confused, and then got up and went into her new bedroom. She gasped when she saw the dresser, and her eyes bugged when she saw the mattress sitting snugly in its frame. "Did you buy this?"

"Well, my family pitched in for the mattress. The dresser is old, but I stained it. It was messy, but I figured you needed a dresser and we had one, so..." Santana reasoned, walking up to her girlfriend. "So where are the sheets, and we can take a rest?"

Dani smirked. "I really do need to sleep, babe."

"Okay, so get out the sheets, put them on the bed and sleep, and I'll start unpacking things into your dresser," Santana decided. Dani started to object, but Santana shook her head. "I'm a big girl, I won't disorganize your clothes."

Dani laughed and shook her head. She found her sheets and her down comforter, and then she dressed up her bed before crawling in and almost instantly falling asleep.

Santana started unpacking the clothes, but she found herself just staring at her girlfriend a few times. Dani was finally going to be living in Lima again, and she was going to be staying until Santana graduated. The Latina had no idea how she'd gotten so lucky.

After all of Dani's clothes were filed neatly in her dresser, Santana decided to take a break as well. She crawled into Dani's bed and wrapped her arms around the girl. Dani's eyes slowly flickered open. "Mm," she muttered.

"All the clothes are done, and I need a break now, too," Santana whispered. Dani wrapped her arms around Santana and they cuddled each other impossibly closer.

"I can't believe that this is real," Dani mumbled, burying her face into Santana's shoulder.

"Well believe it, babe, because it is," Santana promised, hugging her tighter.

"Never let me go, Santana..."

"I promise that I won't," Santana whispered. "As long as you promise the same to me. Never let me go either, alright?"

"I promise."
