Chapter 21
Belinda's Pov
I woke up to the sound of two little girls in a giggling fit. I turned over and slightly opened my eye; I saw a figure in the bushes but couldn't make which of the three boys it was. I nudged Arno but he didn't budge just groaned and turned over, I heard rustling behind us.
"Would you hurry up Asgeir?" I heard Bae whisper
"I would but Asher isn't back yet." Asgeir snapped I heard more rustling
"Boys stop it!" Ariadne hissed lowly I heard Peggy giggle once again and I felt the urge not to laugh at her. "Peggy be quiet."
"I can't it's too funny." Peggy whispered I could hear Ariadne rolling her eyes at the younger girl "Ary guess what today is." She said
"What Pegs?" Ariadne asked
"My birthday!" She screamed I felt Arno jolt up and I covered my ears
"Peggy!" Bae, Asgeir, and Ariadne whined I turned to see Asher running with a bucket in his hands,
"Guy's I'm back!" He loudly whispered I watched as he tripped on a stump and water surged onto me and Arno, I gasped and glared at Asher.
"ASHER!" Arno yelled Asher winced
"Oops...sorry!" He cried out, from the corner of my eye I saw Bae and Asgeir creeping away.
"Don't. You. Move. Another. Inch." I tensely snapped I saw as everyone froze and I turned to look at Bae and Asgeir "whose idea was this?" I calmly asked everyone pointed to Peggy.
"Hey no fair!" Peggy grumbled as she folded her arms and stomped on the ground; Arno slowly walked over to Peggy and bent down to her height.
"Was this your idea?" Arno asked she bit down on her lip and let her head hang.
"Peggy?" I asked
"Technically... yes but the big kids had a fair share in it too!" She whined I hid a smile and looked at Arno
"It's her birthday." I mouthed he nodded and gave her a little poke
"True." Arno smiled while eyeing the other children "How about you and me go to the village and get some breakfast?"
"Yeah!" She smiled "Can Bae come?"
"Sure C'mon bay bay." He laughed Bae hated that nickname some random kid gave it to him while we were in the village and Arno never let him forget it, Asher and Asgeir went somewhere and Ariadne sat down beside me while we looked at the mountains.
"I'm going to tell you something and you have to swear to hear me out." Ariadne confronted
"Ok..." I trailed She turned to look at me
"We need to get back to earth. Now before you start saying it's too dangerous and all that good stuff, I'm tired of sitting here and doing nothing. I want to be like my parents and I can't do that while being here. I was in the village and I overheard some people talking...I found these." She handed me what looked like copper "It's a mixture of Copper, Bronze, Brass, Carbide and Silver." I looked at her completely lost I knew what somewhere but I didn't understand how these were important
"If I work hard enough I can make this conduct enough power like the tesseract and we can get home...there's just one thing I need." She said looking at me
"What?" I asked feeling the air get tenser
"I need a really really big storm." She emphasized I realized what she was asking
"Ary..." I started
"Look I can conduct the heat and the time problem...I just need you to make the wind go at a certain speed, I'm probably going to need Asher and Asgeir to help with the equations and Bae to make a spell, Arno to keep it cool while I make it burn and Peggy can help with keeping things...dark." Ariadne rambled I saw the wheels in her head started to turn and I wanted to say something "I already talked to Arno...his leaving tonight to kill Thanos." I felt my heart start to beat furiously in my chest.
"Wha...What?" I breathed out
"Bel... we're ageing way too fast, I am a 12 year old in a 9 year olds body. Peggy was a year old last year, now she's 7 that's not normal." Ariadne said I felt like I was the child and she was the parent trying to explain something to me but I couldn't get over the fact that Arno told her he was leaving to kill Thanos and not me.
"He knew you'd say no." Asgeir stated
"You knew too?" I asked both of the twins nodded and I looked at Ariadne
"I'm supposed to be the adult here." I chuckled Ariadne bit back a laugh and hugged me.
"If means anything to you... I was never the naïve kid in this group." Ariadne whispered I laughed because it was the truth
"Hey Bel!" I heard Peggy scream and I laughed and picked her up out of the air nuzzling my nose in her neck.
"Hey Pegs." I whispered I felt her squeeze me closer.
"I love you mommy." I heard Peggy barely whisper my grip loosened on her and I set her down.
"What did you say?" I stammered she hid her beautiful shy smile with her hair
"I said...I love you mommy." She whispered again I looked up at Arno and he bit down on his tongue trying hard to say anything. I nodded to Ariadne to leave and the boys followed her, Bae stood there looking at Peggy in shock.
"Bae." Arno simply stated Bae looked up at him
"You can't...not today." He stammered
"I know." Arno sighed
"Did I say something wrong?" Peggy whimpered I hugged her closer and looked at Arno
"Peggy...why did you calm me mommy?" I asked she twirled with her hair and looked at me through her eye lashes
"Because... you are my mommy." She stated I shook my head
"Sweetie- "Please don't say you're not...I know my real mommy is missing but your my new mommy." She smiled I gave her a kiss on the forehead "No more tears it's my birthday!" I laughed and nodded my head I got off my knees and stood beside Arno.
"Don't forget your promise Uncle Arno." Peggy smiled as she walked away I felt Arno entangle our fingers.
"What did you promise her?" I asked
"A story." He smiled.
Arno's Pov
Everyone was getting ready for bed; Belinda was resting her head on my shoulder. I felt Peggy jump on my lap and I smiled, earlier today she called Belinda her mom. It made me start to wonder what it be like to have kids with Belinda...not that I want any! Yet at least it's just I wonder what they looked like. I looked down to see Peggy looking up at me with those blue eyes and I brushed a stray lock from her face.
"Ready?" I asked
"Ready." She confirmed. I kissed the top of Belinda's head and got up.
"Alright tonight's story is actually your family's history." I smiled at the kids Asgeir rolled his eyes and I decided to make sure I told a good story about Uncle Thor tonight. I wondered what I should tell them this time and I realized I hadn't told them about how all our parents met. I smiled and looked at Belinda "I think I need help tonight actually."
"Oh this must be a good one." Bel whispered in my ear I winked at her and smiled
"Ok...this starts around World War II when Steve Rogers met Howard Stark." Ariadne and Peggy looked at each other and smiled "See Steve was twig and Howard turned him into Captain America, the very first avenger." I smiled and watched as I drew the kids into the story...
Third Person's Pov
As Arno told the story of the Avengers and their adventures, the kids got quiet trying to remember every little detail that Belinda and Arno told them. This story to the kids was a way to actually know who their parents were, Belinda looked at Arno as he used big hand jesters to show how something seemed, He used his magic to show a memory on an occasion of some parts of the story, Arno's eye's seemed brighter as he told the kids about their parents. Bae and Peggy had scooted closer hoping that something magical would happen. After the story everyone went to go react the story except Ariadne she needed to get back to earth more now more than ever. Arno had told them what he was going to do; he had heard some of the village people talking that Laufey and Thanos were looking in the woods.
"How's it coming Ariadne?" Arno asked she looked up at him and smiled
"It's almost done...we should be able to teleport back to earth in a day or so." She smiled
"Hey Belinda." Arno asked
"Yeah?" Belinda responded
"Can you control the storm yet?" He asked Belinda bit down her lip and nodded, the kids came in smiling and laughing
"Hey guys keep it down, don't want Laufey to find us do you?" Arno asked
"No Uncle Arno." Bae said
"Come here bae." Arno smiled Bae ran into his arms and Arno ruffled his hair and kissed the top of his head.
"Uncle Arno when will we see mommy and daddy again?" Peggy asked Ariadne looked at Arno raising an eyebrow, you could see pain flicker in his eyes and he smiled at her.
"Soon Peggy, soon." He smiled at Peggy
"Asgeir...Asher?" Belinda asked
"You know one day...I'm going to see earth's stars again and when I do, I'm going to find mommy in the constellations." Asher smiled Asgeir frowned and looked down.
"Then daddy is the thunder on earth." He murmured Belinda felt a pain in my chest. Ariadne looked at them,
"I can see my parents whenever I make a new invention." She smiled
"I see my daddy when the moon reflects off the ice and the moon is my mommy." Bae laughed
"So romantic." Peggy giggled "I see my daddy when the stars come out and the darkness is my mommy." She laughed
"Creepy." Asgeir murmured
"Well her mom was creepy." Asher smiled
"Shut up she wasn't creepy...grandpa was creepy." Peggy said all of the kids nodded in agreement Belinda and Arno laughed
"How about you guys get ready for bed?" Belinda asked they all got up and raced to the bed except Ariadne "You too."
"But I'm almost 12." She complained
"Almost the key word." Arno countered she got up and stomped all the way to the wherever the bedroom was. Arno scooted next Belinda she rested her head on his shoulder. "You ok?"
"I don't know." She said
"Look at me." He said she looked up at him the sun had set and it was completely dark but Arno's pale skin almost made him look like he was glowing in the dark.
"Dude you seriously need some sun." She laughed he shook his head and laughed
"Look...we will get back home I promise, I will find a way to make everything normal again, I will try my best to find Ella and Calvin...it's no point in trying to find Lux and Tristan their gone...our parents our gone too but we can survive, you will be queen of Asgard if Calvin doesn't want to be king, and I'll well I have to take care my little niece and nephew. And protect Ariadne from Odin." He promised
"I miss them...all of them." She sighed
"I do too, it's not the same, and how are we going to tell Peggy? The other kids already know their parents are gone but she thinks they're on a missing." He asked her she could see the pain in his eyes.
"It wasn't your fault they died." Belinda told him he got up and looked at her
"It was and you know it if I hadn't gone to vanaheim maybe just maybe..." he sighed and turned on his heels and walked into the bushes
Ariadne looked up at the night sky and the stars seemed to shine brighter form their laughter and she laid back letting her mind drift off with time.
She closed her eyes and say a girl with bright blonde hair and icy blue eyes, she looked no older than 5 yrs. Old, she saw an older woman running behind her with the same color hair and she had blue eyes but darker than the younger female.
"C'mon Alythia." The older woman ushered, the toddler waddle closer to the woman.
"Where's daddy?" The little girl whispered the woman who seemed to be her mother whispered something and looked at her daughter.
"He went bye-bye for now." She answered there was a bright light and Ariadne got a better look at the woman's face and she looked very familiar almost too familiar.
"Ella?" Ariadne whispered time seemed to go quicker and all she saw was the little toddler running in the woods, but Ariadne knew these woods it was the woods she and her family ran in the girl tripped and fell and Ariadne snapped out of her trance gasping for air. Ariadne got up and walked around messing around with her scrap trying to make the little cross realm conductor she had in mind. She sat on the edge of the cliff she knew Arno should be back soon. She felt bad after telling Belinda, but she had too if something happened to Arno she would never forgive herself.
"Ary what are you still doing up?" She heard Arno ask her she ran into his arms
"Did you do it?" She whispered
"Yeah...Hemdial is taking care of it now." Arno promised something about the name Hemdial seemed familiar to her like she knew him but Arno had told her she never met him in her life. She opened her eyes to see Icy blue eyes staring back at her she yelped and backed away from Arno.
"What's the matter?" He asked she pointed to the unnerving eyes and walked closer, she could have sworn that it was only dream, but these were getting creep everything she dreamt of now was coming true.
"Ary don't move any closer." Arno warned Ariadne waved him off and moved closer
"It's ok...we won't hurt you." She reassured the ice blue eyed girl walked out and stood nervously in front of Ariadne looking down "Your Alythia aren't you?" the girl nodded
"You know her?" Arno asked
"No...But we know her mother." Ariadne answered Alythia and Arno both looked at her "Go get Belinda, Arno she's going to want meet Alythia." Arno looked back in forth from both girls and then nodded.
"You knew mommy?" Alythia asked
"Yeah, she's my...err...cousin." Ariadne answered
"How do you know who I am? My mommy said only my Godmother and Godfather knew I existed." Alythia pondered
"Big words for such a little girl." Ariadne laughed
"I know...I like words, and books." Alythia smiled dreamily
Ariadne knew for sure that Peggy and Alythia would get along very well; they were God sister's/cousins after all. Ariadne smiled to herself maybe it was a good thing she had these powers. Arno came back with a very tired Belinda in tow; she looked at Ariadne raising an eyebrow.
"What is so important you needed to wake me up from my wonderful sleep?" Belinda asked Ariadne chewed on her cheek debating on how to word this, it wasn't easy you could just bam say it and be done or maybe she could...
"Belinda this is Alythia...your niece." Ariadne said "Alythia this is Belinda...you Aunt." Both girls looked at each other in shock and Arno stepped back looking at the girl in question.
"How?" Arno, Belinda and Alythia asked Ariadne
"I had another dream...about her." Ariadne nodded towards the young girl, "She's...Ella and Calvin's daughter." Ariadne whispered
"What...?" Belinda trailed while staring at the little girl
"You knew my mother and father?" Alythia whispered Arno and Ariadne left two to talk, Belinda stared at the toddler
"How old are you?" Belinda whispered
"My momma said I'll be 6 in 9 months." Alythia answered Belinda did the math and realized that this might possible be Ella and Calvin's daughter
"I don't understand." Belinda murmured
"I was a secret." Alythia answered "Only my godmother and godfather knew I existed...that is before mamma and daddy ran away."
Belinda kept staring at Alythia and the more she stared the more she looked like Calvin and Ella she noticed the leather gloves on Alythia's hand and she looked up at the 5 yr. old "Daddy says I can't touch anyone with my bare hands." Belinda nodded at Alythia
"We...Where is your parents?" Belinda asked Alythia's eye got tearing and she ran into Belinda's arms
"He...got them." She whispered "The man in the golden patch..." Alythia cried Belinda held onto her niece tighter and kissed the top of her head.
"It'll be ok, I got you now." Belinda whispered soothingly
*Sigh* It's officially just the kids... I don't even know how I can sleep night. Well I hope you guys liked it now for the announcement.
So you know how a couple chapters back I said it would be like 6 more chapters then I'm done...I lied...I'M SORRY! It's just that the way this story is going to end it will most likely be 2 more chapters and an epilogue:/I am truly sorry for getting the amount of chapters wrong, and having you think the end of this story is a few months away when really it's a few weeks...I am writing the next two chapters now while I have a little bit of time. The story kind of just started to write itself after awhile. The epilogue has been finished since chapter 2 so I will probably be posting that one the same day I post the last chapter if not then the next day.
Second, this is sort of for glamgirl16 and shakespearequeen72; you guys remember how I said the ending wouldn't be so bad...I'm not spoiling anything but I am just going to say this you may want to hold on to your knickers and pretty please with a cherry on top do not kill me!
