Flynn eventually got to the point that his shoulder was aching too much and his arm felt like dead weight, so he gently settled Yuri into a different position and slinked off to the kitchen to get a drink and more painkillers. Judith had said to take it a little easier, as taking too many could affect his immune system - and thus make him more susceptible to things like superbugs - but sometimes it just hurt too much to properly ignore.

When he came back out, Yuri was sitting up, looking around blearily. He seemed rather confused, though his expression became hesitant when he noticed Flynn.

"You should have woken me up, I could have gotten you a drink," he said with a grin, trying to be lighthearted.

Flynn frowned. "You don't remember?"

"Remember what?"

"You know..the conversation we had with Judith earlier."

Yuri blinked. "Wait..that was real? I thought it was some weird dream.."

"No, it was real. Though she did say you might still be half asleep."

"Oh...Um, sorry.."

"Jeez Yuri, stop apologising. I've heard you apologise more today than I've heard anyone else in one week. It's not like you at all."

Yuri shrugged. Flynn glanced at him, then sighed before taking a seat. "Look, I know I've been a bit awkward around you for the last week or so, but I had a reason; a stupid reason, though."

"Huh?"

Flynn bit his lip, trying to figure out how to word it. "You know when I let you sleep in my bed with me?"

"Yeah.."

"Okay, well, when I woke up, we were kinda...cuddling."

"Yeah, I know."

"Right. Well, um...I kinda...realised that I like you."

Yuri looked confused for a minute. "Huh? Well, I'd hope so, I mean..."

"No, not like that. I mean...ugh...fancy you."

Yuri blinked, then grinned. "You fancy me?"

"...Yes.."

"So why were you avoiding me?"

"Because I thought if I told you, you might freak out a little."

"Wow...You really can be stupid sometimes, huh."

Flynn looked at him angrily. "Well excuse me for being worried about-"

He was cut off as Yuri's lips touched his, and for a moment he could only stare. Yuri pulled back slightly, grinning.

"I thought you'd realised...I guess not, huh?"

"Wait..what? Huh?"

Yuri laughed, leaning back. "While you're off worrying about whether I'd think you're a weirdo for liking me, I'm sitting over here wondering how the hell I'm supposed to tell you I like you. I suppose it would have been easier if we just said it."

"Eh?"

"I was gonna tell you a little while back, but then Judith interrupted us, so I was waiting for a better time."

Flynn blinked as he suuddenly understood. "Wait..you mean, you.."

"Man oh man you're getting dumb these days! I kiss you and you still don't get it?"

Flynn frowned at him. "You're getting ruder, too."

"Sorry," Yuri apologised, shrugging.

"Look...I'm sorry that I was acting weird. I didn't mean to..make you think I hate you or anything," Flynn said quietly.

Yuri shrugged. "It doesn't really matter now, does it? We both know it was a really complicated misunderstanding, so there's no need to worry anymore."

"But.."

"I'll kiss you again if you don't stop talking."

Flynn blinked then smirked. "That's a bad thing?" he asked innocently.

Yuri raised an eyebrow then moved over to him, grinning. "Well, you asked for it," he said.

The next few weeks passed without incident. Flynn's rib healed within four weeks, and by then he was itching to be allowed to do things again. He seemed almost excited, practically skipping beside Yuri as they walked to school.

"Do you really like it that much?" asked Yuri, confused.

"I like doing work. Just sitting around really gets on my nerves."

"Huh. I thought people liked just sitting around doing nothing."

"Well...I guess a lot of people do, to an extent, but we can't just do something forever. We take breaks to do other things. And then we might just stop for a little while before going back to it. Except I've not been allowed to do anything for nearly four weeks."

"That's a lie. Judith let you move around after the third week."

"Yes. Because I was allowed to do so much."

"Look, you wouldn't like it if you were still injured right now, would you? So stop complaining," Yuri sighed.

Flynn shrugged, then glanced at him. "Speaking of, why are you carrying my bag? It seems kind of unnecessary now.."

"What, I can't be polite?"

"Of course you can. It just seems like an odd reason?"

"Meh. I just felt like it, really."

Flynn shrugged again, glancing around. "I wonder how everyone is...We're probably going to get a lot more attention now, too."

"Well, no one really knows anything unless Sodia told them. And they've probably gotten over it by now, anyway. So we should be fine," Yuri said nonchalantly.

Flynn looked over at him. "Are we going to tell people that we're dating now?"

"Only if you want to. I don't see the point in advertising it, though. If someone asks, then we'll answer. Otherwise, no point."

Flynn nodded. "Fair enough," he agreed.

"You guys are dating? That's adorable," a voice said behind them, and Flynn jumped, turning in surprise. Yuri raised an eyebrow at the girl now walking between them, her hands behind her head.

"And you are..?"

"Rita Mordio, at your service," she said.

"Oh! Estelle's friend, right?"

"Yeah."

"You came up to me that one time too, right? Asking why I fell off the roof?"

"Yeah, that was me. Estelle was a little worried but she didn't want to ask Flynn and she was too shy to ask you," Rita explained with a shrug. Then she raised an eyebrow. "But at least then you were only off for a week. You guys haven't been at school for a month already. You were barely back before you were off again."

"Well, this guy was an idiot and broke his rib, so he had to stay off, and I was deemed his baby sitter," Yuri said, nodding at Flynn. Flynn frowned.

"I didn't just break my rib, Yuri. It was broken by someone else."

"Eh, details. So, nobody actually knows why we were off?"

"No...Though there were some weirdos saying you had eloped."

Flynn snorted, then coughed, covering his mouth and looking away. The other two looked at him with matching expressions, a little confused.

"He's really not as uptight as everyone says, is he," Rita realised, looking at Yuri.

"Well, it's taken me a little while, but no. He is now not as uptight as everyone says."

"You managed to get him to loosen up? Good job. I've heard he's the most stubborn person in school."

"I'm more stubborn, so I won."

"Guys, I am right here," Flynn said.

"Did someone say something?" asked Rita, looking around in mock confusion.

"I didn't hear anything," Yuri replied, smirking as Flynn gave a sigh.

"Rita!" a voice called, and they looked forward as a familiar pink-haired girl ran up, waving. She paused as she saw Yuri and Flynn, then smiled. "Ah, are you feeling better now, Flynn?" she asked, slipping beside him and settling into walking with them.

"Yes, thank you."

"You knew?" asked Rita.

"I guessed. I already knew his rib was fractured, and when Sodia said he was attacked, I thought his rib might have broken."

"Sodia didn't tell anyone else, did she?" asked Flynn.

"No, only me. And that was only because I knew what was going on in the first place." She looked over at Rita. "But Rita, I didn't know you knew Yuri and Flynn too. Have you been friends long?"

"Yeah, about ten minutes," Rita replied, rolling her eyes. Then she looked over at Yuri. "So, I hear you have scars?"

"...Okay, that is a really random topic change. And how do you know?"

"You know Karol?"

"Yeah..."

"Adopted little brother."

"Ohh. Is one of your parents a police officer or something then?"

"Nope. Our mum is a journalist and our dad works in a supermarket. Karol's trying to become a journalist like Mum, and applied at the police station to help with things like taking photographs. Like, that is his actual job."

"Guess he doesn't get much work then."

"Nope."

"Well, tell the little guy I said hi," Yuri said, shrugging.

Estelle looked at Flynn. "They seem to get along well," she said with a giggle.

"Yes...I suppose their personalities are a bit similar," Flynn mused.

"How are you now then, Flynn?"

"Fully healed and eager to get back to work."

"I'm glad to hear it. We've been splitting your work evenly between us all, but I don't know how you manage to do all of it in such a short time all by yourself. There's so much."

"Practice, mostly. I did give bits of it to other people when I first started, I admit, but then I got used to it."

"It's still rather impressive. Especially with schoolwork and homework on top."

They soon reached the school gates, the boys watching as the two girls hurried off to their first lesson before Yuri turned to Flynn.

"Tell me if any trouble starts, okay? Please be careful this time," he murmured.

Flynn chuckled. "Alright," he replied, giving him a quick peck before heading off. Yuri watched him go, then shrugged before wandering towards his next lesson.

A/N: Forgot to mention, but whenever I mentioned how to help heal broken ribs, that's actually true. Obviously, talk to a GP, but that's just a little bit of reference for anyone who needs it.
