Author's Note:

10 chapters. Wow! I'll make this short and sweet. Thanks to everyone who reads, I appreciate it! This one is a bit longer then most of the recent chapters, so...Enjoy!

Just remember this for the next couple of chapters: Nothing is ever easy for Brallie (More specifically Callie actually)

Brandon's POV:

What is she doing?

"Are you crazy?!" I practically shout at her, startling most of the people at the table. Jude started shaking his head. Jesus, who was checking his Instagram, continued to scroll through the homepage, having no idea that this was happening. Moms and Mariana just sat there, their mouths agape.

Callie looked like she was trying to say something but couldn't get it out. "I-I..." She started

"Stop it!" Jude shouted. I had never seen him so anger. Shocked and completely oblivious, Jesus even stopped looking at his Instagram and looked around with a confused expression. "She's doing this because of you!" He continued.

I stood there, not able to say a word. Callie, getting the courage to speak, said "That is not why I am doing this, Jude."

Everyone knew she was lying, scoffing. This earned a confused look from Callie. "What?!" She said, clearly offended and again very confused.

"You are going to get adopted Callie. Why give up on that when you are so close?" I tell her calmly.

"Because when she was actually in the courtroom, going to be adopted, you ruined it." Jude muttered but just loud enough so everyone could hear it.

"He didn't ruin it..." She trailed off.

"Yes I did." I returned "I completely screwed up your adoption!"

"You didn't screw up my adoption. I did." She said looking down at the floor. She can't possibly be saying this.

"Oh, really? How?!" I questioned angrily

"You were trying to escape my adoption so that it wouldn't be hard for us. You weren't there so that I could get adopted." She tried to explain.

"I was selfish. Instead of sucking it up and being happy for you, I decided to lie to all of you and leave so instead I could be wasted on the sidewalk. You practically had to come after me!" I yelled.

"When I was going to get adopted, I wasn't thinking about how much I was hurting you! That's why I'm getting emancipated!" She cried then she covered her mouth, realizing her slip up but it was too late.

To say the least, Jude was fuming. All heads turned to him. "I knew it." Was all he said. Everyone knew he was infuriated. Mariana and Jesus gave me sympathetic looks. Callie again tried to say something but once again, nothing came out. I was speechless, not wanting to anger the boy anymore, which I don't think is possible.

Third Person POV

Family dinner had taken a turn for the worst and had headed into full-on chaos. And it was the craziest right at the next few moments because no one was saying a word.

The once peaceful table became a battleground of stares, tension and just plain anger. The only noise was the chewing that only came from Stef and Lena. The rest of the Adams Foster Family's appetite was lost in the continuing drama of Callie's announcement.

Stef and Lena eventually stopped, realizing that they were the only ones actually eating.

Brandon's POV

"Come on guys, this is good lasagna!" Mom shouted.

I chuckled in remembrance. "What's so funny?" She asked.

"You said the same thing the night that Callie came here." I stated

No one wanted to eat that night. They were so engrossed in Callie, so full of curiosity that the meal was the last thing on their minds.

I think I was the one who was the most curious. If I were her, I probably would have been weirded out by me. She probably was. I couldn't help it. She was so full of mystery. It was intriguing.

Her comments were a little off-putting, definitely offensive, but it made me even more interested. I knew what she was doing. She was protecting herself in a way from getting hurt.

I knew that anywhere. Sometimes I did that with my dad. I didn't want to get hurt again by his bouts so I would close him off, protect myself from him.

That's what she was doing with us. Which meant she had something interesting, intriguing. It meant she had a story.

I have been taken with her ever since.

"Oh, yeah!" Mariana started "I remember that! Remember what she said about you?"

"If I remember clearly, she said..." Jesus started, putting his hand to chin, pretending to be thinking. Then in his best Callie impression, continued "'Where did you get him? The ninety-nine cent store?'"

The table erupted into laughter at Jesus' awful Callie impression and the remark. "Hey! That does not sound like me!" Callie said defensively. "That was the worst impression!"

"I do really good impressions!" said Jesus. The table laughed at this and Jesus sat there, very offended. "What?"

"Your impressions are awful! Especially your Arnold Schwarzenegger one. All you do is talk in a deep voice."

Jesus, trying to earn back the credit of doing good impressions, tried once again "I am Arnold Schwarzenegger."

The table erupted even more, now everyone was almost crying in laughter. Jesus, giving up, put his plate in the sink and went up to his room.

Callie stood up "In all seriousness, no matter how cheesy, now to me you guys are priceless!" She also put her plate in the sink and retired to her room.

This was the cue for everyone, including me, to wash their plates and go to their rooms.

I hurried up the stairs and into my room. I knew I had to be quick so I hurried into my room and scrambled for a piece of paper. Once I found one, I wrote in my worst handwriting ever imaginable, scribbling all of my thoughts down. Before sealing the envelope, I took fifty dollars from my wallet and stuck it in the envelope. I wrote Callie's name in big letters and sealed it.

I tip-toed to Mariana and Callie's bedroom and carefully slipped the envelope under the door.
