I rarely write KC anymore, I've kind of lost inspiration for it, but I missed these two and I'm also working on a new piece for my 'Show Me' KC Verse so be sure to check that out too, here's just a little something, enjoy : )

Destined Future One Shot #1

"This place just doesn't change it? Like every time we come here, even after all of this time, it's always the same, quiet, beautiful-"

"Yes beautiful-"

Caroline smiled into her plastic cup before taking a sip and flexed her free hand, her left hand, wiggling her fingers out in the air, the glint of the newly acquired piece of jewellery shimmered brightly even in the slightly darkening shades of the red and purple sunset. She smiled wider, feeling light and free and happier than ever.

"I cant believe you did that-"

"What proposed to you? It shouldn't have come as much of a surprise love, there really wasn't going to be any other ending to our story-"

She grinned and giggled lightly, placing her cup down inside the picnic hamper and leaning back against a broad clothed chest, she tilted her head up and to the side slightly to see those deep blue eyes alight with reverence, dishevelled hand ruffled hair and light scruff lining a strong jaw.

"No, well yes I mean I certainly didn't expect it, not now, sitting at our favourite spot-"

"Where we shared our first date many, many years ago-"

"It wasn't that long ago-"

"Long enough, you made me wait too long, I'm surprised I lasted this long-"

"Hey aren't you glad I've graduated college and all successful like, I'm not going to be some trophy, stay at home wife you know-" She felt a deep rumble, vibrate through back and peeked up smiling.

Klaus was looking down on her intently, grinning, his eyes sparkling, "You've always been a prize to me Caroline-"

"Well you never had to work to that hard-"

"The beauty of Destined Soul Mates my dear, it does all of the hard work for you-" He laughed and caught her hand as she tried to swat him in the chest, he brought her hand up to his lips, kissed her knuckles gently, her fingers, the diamond of the platinum ring looked stark and beautiful against the creamy smooth pale of her skin and his veins sang with pride, that he put it there.

His soul mark, Caroline's name permanently etched into his hand, tickled pleasantly and his heart thumped faster, desperately trying to match the rhythm of Caroline's own heartbeat, and he could feel her reaction also, could feel her own delight and excitement swim though his blood as his own screamed her name, the sign of perfectly happy, bonded and newly engaged soul mates.

He bent down slightly and placed a kiss to her forehead before looking back out at the lake in front of them, the shimmer of the waters surface rippled slightly with the light, cool evening breeze, as swans lazily made their way by in twos and small families. Above them birds tweeted and called to each other, circling and looking for nests and trees to accommodate them. The twinkly lights strewn all around them, started to light up and glow brightly as the sun made its way lower beneath the distant lush green rolling hills and mountain peaks.

This was the exact spot where they had had came on their first date, even the picnic blanket and the hamper were the same, back when everything was new and terrifying and exciting and Caroline was too scared to tell anybody about her mark, but now she couldn't bare the thought of nobody knowing who she belonged to, who she was destined to be with, who heart beat for and only for.

"So what's the rule then, with this stuff, you know soul mates and engagement and stuff, you were of thought it was just a given anyway-" Her voice was quiet and calm, lazy and relaxed, Klaus wrapped his arms tighter around her, brought his knees up slightly on either side of her body, she was completely cocooned within his embrace and his chest puffed out a little all on it's own, a sense of achievement and pride at what he had, what was his, only his, always. He smiled into her hair, breathing in deeply, he could never get enough.

"If I'd known you thought that I would have saved myself the trouble of the ring and just marched you down the aisle right away-" She giggled and brushed a finger over the silver band delicately, turning it this way and that, the sparkle of the diamond glowing each way it faced.

"You're never getting this back, never-"

"I'd never accept it back, and no love I don't think there are rules or requirements, just the same as before, you listen to me and only me-" This time he didn't move out of the way of her elbow poking him in the ribs, he was teasing and she knew it. Caroline was always a strong willed soul mate, she always had her own mind and he had to get used to it, sometimes they had to be parted for whatever reason and their marks called out for each other achingly so, but he would never get in the way of her life and future and dreams, he'd always be there right along side of her.

They grew silent, happy and comfortable, there was no rush, not tonight, not ever, they had each other always, there was always going to be time, Destiny was not going anywhere.
