Lucas walked up to the front door of Haley and Nathan's 7,000 square foot home. He moved his legs up the front stoop slowly and sighed as he rang the doorbell.

It was fairly early in the morning. Brooke was still sleeping when he left to go pick up Sophia from Nathan and Haley's house.

The door opened and Lucas saw Nathan standing on the other side.

"Hey man come on in. I was just on my way out to my morning workout. Haley's in the kitchen with the baby." Nathan lead Lucas into the kitchen where Haley was swaying with a slightly fussy Sophia. Jamie was sitting at the counter eating cereal in his pajamas. His hair was was tousled from the night of sleep.

"Hey Hales." Lucas waved to Haley and she turned to face Lucas.

"Oh hey Luke." Haley smiled."I didn't realize you were taking this cutie back so fast."

"Yes I am. Don't think you're stealing her away from us." Lucas laughed as he took Sophia out of Haley's arms and brought her into his chest.

"Good thing we have one coming soon right Nate?" Haley said as she glanced over at Nathan and smiled.

Lucas just looked at Haley after she said that and then turned to look at Nathan who was standing behind him in the kitchen. He too had a big smile on his face.

"Hales you're pregnant?!" Lucas asked.

Haley shook her head gleefully, "Yup I just found out last night!"

Lucas hugged his best friend with his free arm that wasn't holding Sophia and then shook Nathan's hand.

"Congratulations little brother!" Lucas shouted excitedly. "Jamie what do you think about your mom having another baby?"

"Cool I guess." Jamie said shrugging his shoulders continuing to eat his cereal.

"Isn't he just so enthusiastic?" Haley said sarcastically.

"He's 5 what do you expect?" Nathan answered. He'll get used to the idea eventually."

"Yeah I know. Listen Luke don't tell Brooke yet. I want to tell her myself." Haley said.

"I don't think you have to worry about me telling her before you do. We're not exactly talking right now" Lucas explained as he started to put Sophia into her carseat. After the baby was buckled in, Lucas put a pacifier in her mouth and covered her with a blanket.

"I'm guessing dinner didn't go well huh?" Haley asked. "What happened?"

"I thought she was being incredibly rude to Naomi. And when I confronted her about it afterwards she told me that she thinks Naomi has a thing for me. Can you believe that?" Lucas said shaking his head.

"Well maybe she does Luke..Brooke usually has good intuitions doesn't she?" Haley said. "You have to cut her some slack. She's been through a lot in the past especially when it comes to you."

Lucas started shaking his head. "Oh come on don't give me that Haley. We're married now all that high school bullshit should be in the past. Sorry about all the cursing Jim Jam.."

Jamie put down his spoon pushed his cereal bowl away from himself. "I'm just going to go play video games. I don't understand all this grownup stuff."

Haley, Lucas, and Nathan just laughed.

"All I'm saying Luke is that Brooke's your wife and you need to reassure her that you love her and your her biggest supporter. Just listen to what she has to say. Don't shut her out."

Lucas knew Haley was right. He had to go home and make things right with Brooke.

"You always know what to say Hales." Lucas said picking up Sophia's carseat and beginning to walk out the door.

"She's a keeper isn't she?" Nathan said smiling opening the front door for Lucas.

"She sure is. Hey guys thanks again for watching Soph. I hope she wasn't too much trouble." Lucas said making his way out the door.

"Of course not. She's a perfect little angel and we're happy to have her anytime." Haley assured Lucas smiling. "Tell Brooke to give me a call."

"I will as soon as I get home but I have to make a few stops first."

Brooke stood above the sink in the kitchen of her home. She was drying dishes still pissed about her fight last night with Lucas. The story was always the same with their relationship: Lucas had a hard time putting Brooke before other people.

Just as she stacked the last clean plate in one of the cabinets she heard the front door open.

Lucas walked in holding Sophia's carseat in on hand and a bouquet of red roses in his other.

"Before you say anything - I know last night didn't really go as planned and I'm sorry that I didn't listen to your feelings. I know I should hear you out always and hold you above everyone else." Lucas said.

Lucas put the baby's carseat up on the kitchen counter so she was at eye level with her parents.

"Soph helped me pick these out." Lucas added pointing to the flowers.

"Oh Lucas they're absolutely gorgeous but I have to say that I'm more excited to see this one." Brooke said as she lifted Sophia out and into her arms. The baby immediately put her head on Brooke's shoulder.

"I'm sorry again Brooke I really am." Lucas said.

"Thank you Luke. For everything really. It's too hard staying mad at you." Brooke responded laughing.

"That's because I'm just so handsome." Lucas said taking Brooke's free hand that wasn't holding the baby and pulling in her for a kiss.

"You're right about that." Brooke said kissing Lucas again on the lips.

Sophia started fussing from where she was between Brooke and Lucas.

"Aw what's the matter baby girl?" Brooke asked starting to sway with the almost 3 month old. "Too much time with daddy?"

"Very funny." Lucas said shaking his head.

"Listen Lucas maybe I was wrong about Naomi. If she can help you with your second book then you should work with her. I want that for you." Brooke said looking at Lucas and rubbing Sophia's back.

"Thank you pretty girl." Lucas smiled back at his wife.

"Hales you're pregnant?!" OH MY GOD!" Brooke shouted at her best friend who had come over to tell Brooke the good news.

"Yeah I took three tests last night and they were all positive." Haley said smiling.

"We're going to have little babies together! This is going to be so fun." Brooke said beaming. "I hope it's a girl so they can be best friends."

"Nathan and I would love to have a little girl but Jamie really wants to have a brother." Haley explained.

"I bet. Two little boys would be a challenge." Brooke proposed.

"Yeah it sure would be. I think we're planning on finding out the gender as soon as possible. You know me; I hate surprises and I like to plan as much as I can in advance." Haley said.

"I'm so excited! The wait is going to be brutal." Brooke beamed.

"How do I look with a baby?" Haley asked cradling Sophia. "It's been a while."

"Fantastic. Especially with a little one dressed in all pink. Girls are so fun Hales."

"But it's going to be hard to top Sophia isn't it? She's the most fabulous baby ever. She has her parents to thank for that." Haley said looking down at Sophia and then up at Brooke. "Luke told me about last night. I'm glad you guys could work it out."

"It was sweet of him to apologize. And I know I was wrong too. I could have handled it better but Luke and I just need to be on the same page. Marriage is hard." Brooke said sighing.

"Tell me about it. It's hard to imagine being pregnant while Nathan's away at training camp in August. This baby is going to be born right in the heat of the basketball season." Haley said with a worried look on her face. "Not the best timing on our parts."

"You'll guys will get through it. You always do." Brooke assured. "Plus you'll have Lucas and I to help you out when Nate's on the road."

Sophia began to cry so Brooke took her from Haley.

"What's the matter sweetie? I should probably try to put her down Haley. I'm so excited for you and Nate. Thanks for coming over to tell me." Brooke and Haley hugged goodbye.

"I'm going to bring Jamie by the store tomorrow is that okay?" Haley asked.

"Yeah bring him by. I'll probably have Soph with me. She usually doesn't go to daycare on Mondays."

"Alright see you then. Bye Sophia!" Haley shouted as she walked out the door.
