To all that still want to read:

I am so sorry about the ridiculous amount of time it has taken me to update. This semester has been crazy and now that it is officially over I can start updating again! I promise it will be much more frequently than every couple months because I felt so bad leaving you guys hanging!

Hopefully I still have readers who are interested in this story and if so, I can't wait to continue it.

Thanks for reading and being patient with me as always.

Enjoy:

Brooke backed up until she felt the back of her legs touch the bed. She laid back and scooted herself down to the pillows as she continued to kiss Lucas passionately.

Between kisses she spoke, "I missed you so much today babe."

"I know but we're finally alone right?" Lucas asked looking down at Brooke and running his fingers through his hair.

Just as Lucas said that soft cries started from down the hall and then grew louder over the baby monitor sitting on the nightstand next to Brooke and Lucas's desk.

"You spoke too soon Broody." Brooke said sighing as she pushed up on Lucas's chest to move him out of the way so she could go get the baby.

"Are you coming back?" Lucas asked desperately for a night alone with his wife.

Brooke just smiled and winked at him as she walked out the door and down the hall towards the nursery.

"Hey Luke, by the time I came back in last night you were sleeping." Brooke said half-smiling as she screwed the lid on to her coffee mug.

"I know I'm sorry babe. I've just been so exhausted with all this writing. And I figured if Soph wasn't going to get any sleep, at least I should." Lucas said before taking a few bites of his cereal.

"Well what about me?!" Brooke shouted annoyed. I was up swaying Sophia for a good few hours. I now I have to go into work!"

"Well do you want to leave the baby here?" Lucas said rubbing Sophia's arm who was sitting contently in her high chair.

"No that's okay. I want you to be able to get some writing done here while it's quiet. Plus, I would miss her too much. Isn't that right baby girl?" Brooke cooed to her daughter as she lifted her out of the high chair and placed her in her car-seat.

"I'll see my two favorite ladies tonight for dinner?" Lucas asked as he got up to give Brooke a kiss goodbye.

"Of course my love. I can't wait." Brooke leaned in and gave Lucas a quick kiss on the lips.

And with that she was out the door and off to work, leaving Lucas alone to write.

"Ma'am I think the black one looks perfect on you. It really excentuates your figure."

It was late morning and Brooke was working in Clothes over Bros helping some customer try on some of her most unique pieces. She had Sophia on her hip and she was swaying side to side as she was giving her feedback to the kind ladies who were shopping that day in her store.

Just then, Brooke heard the bell ding in the front of the store, meaning a new customer had just walked in.

"One moment ladies, I'll be right back. Everything looks awesome so far." Brooke assured her customers and walked from the changing rooms in the back of the store, to the front to greet her new customer.

"Hi! Welcome to Clothes over Bros. How can I help.." Brooke stopped in her tracks when she realized who the woman was who walked into her store.

It was Naomi.

"Oh hello Brooke. I hope this is a good time." Naomi approached Brooke who now was moving to stand behind the counter.

"A good time for what? Shopping? Of course, my store is open as you can see." Brooke said. She was confused as to why Naomi would come by, but also why she was asking such a weird question. Could she be here for another reason other than trying on meaningless outfits?

"Well actually, I'm not here to shop. Naomi responded nonchalantly. "I'm here to apply for a job."

Brooke couldn't believe what she was hearing. A job? Wasn't Naomi an editor of books? Why in the hell would she want to work in retail for?

"A job?" Brooke repeated out loud. Don't you have a job?" Brooke realized after she had said this how rude her tone sounded.

"Technically I'm not employed at the moment. I don't work with one single agency and since we moved out of our area for my husband's job I'd thought it would be good for me to get a part time job to keep myself busy." Naomi explained.

Brooke found trouble finding the words to reply.

"I'm sorry but I just saw the help wanted sign in the window and I've always been interest in fashion so I thought it would be a good fit." Naomi stuttered locking eyes with Brooke.

Brooke did not know how to respond. She didn't want to work so closely with this woman she was threatened by, but at the same time she promised Lucas she would give her a chance in helping with his second book. She couldn't risk ruing their business relationship by not offering Naomi the job. That would crush Luke and potentially hurt his second novel which she knew how much he wanted to publish.

"I can apply right? I mean it would be against the law to refuse my application." Naomi said, a smirk creeping onto her face.

Brooke was floored. Was this woman serious? She was just put into the worst position possible. But she had to swallow her pride and do what was right, no matter the circumstances.

"Our applications our right over here."

I PROMISE TO UPDATE ASAP. Comments and feedback are greatly appreciated!
