"Fear can control some for a short time, but hope can control all forever."

Katniss Pov:

It is becoming blatantly obvious that I do not have Coin's favor. She was overjoyed when Peeta was brought in, believing that he should be the face of the revolution, while having a reaction to that of a yawn when I came in. I don't exactly blame her for that logic, Peeta has charisma, I do not.

However, everyone else seems to believe that I'm the Mockingjay. Therefore, I'm the face of the revolution.

Since then, my and Coin's relationship has soured. I have noticed that she views me as a threat, as she glares at me whenever I start talking. It is Snow all over again.

I was worried that Boggs was a lapdog for Coin until he gave me the heads up that Coin didn't want me to be protected during the propos. She instead wanted Boggs to lead me on a suicide mission, thus giving the others no choice but to completely follow Coin since I as the competition would have been removed.

"But that's not going to happen under my watch, Soldier Everdeen. I'm planning for you to have a long life. Because you've earned it." Boggs pledges boldly. He has to know that this would be considered an act of treason, but he doesn't seem to care.

Peeta, according to what Boggs said was Coin's plan, is not supposed to be here until after I die. That way, he can become the new face by bringing hope after I died. However, Haymitch got wind of it and convinced Coin that it would be prudent to have Peeta come sooner.

So here I am, standing between Peeta and Finnick, as the propo shoot begins.

Things were going well initially, until Boggs accidentally hit a mislabeled pod. I tried doing whatever I could to save him, trying to remember what my mother would have done in a situation like this. But Boggs calmly tells us to move into one of the apartments nearby in order to hide out from the black wave.

"Fuck! This girl has been nothing but trouble since we brought her in! Coin was right, this monster has got to go." A squad member named Mitchell yells while charging at me with his gun.

What the hell? Why would Mitchell snap? It was only a few minutes ago that he was pledging to keep me safe from Snow, now he himself is trying to kill me.

I have little to no time to react, so I just pray that my death is quick.

However, right before Mitchell reaches me, someone steps in between us and charges at Mitchell. The impact causes Mitchell to be thrown into another mislabeled pod that kills him instantly.

It takes me a moment to get over my shock from everything that just happened, but a familiar voice shakes me from my thoughts.

"You okay Katniss?" Peeta asks while quickly checking to make sure that I am not wounded.

I blink several times to regain my focus before I ask, "Did you just save me Peeta?"

He answers with a soft smile and a nod.

"Thank you Peeta. I owe you so much." I whisper while I throw myself towards him in a hug.

The hug is short lived, as Finnick regains our attention.

"Guys, I don't think that Boggs is going to make it. We got to move to a safe location to regroup and plan our next move."

We quickly regain focus on Boggs, who appears to be fading fast, and carry him as quickly as possible to the apartment.

We reach the inside of the apartment quickly and lay Boggs on the floor of the apartment. Boggs doesn't seem to realize that he is in his dying moments, as he seems almost entranced by the Holo.

Before I can ask why he is so enamored by it, he quickly tells me that I am in charge now and gives me the Holo. Before he dies, he gives me four quick orders,

"Don't trust them, don't go back. Kill Peeta. Do what you came to do."

Once he says this, he lets out one last breath before his eyes slowly shut for the last time.

I know that I have to think fast, as Jackson begins to shout orders that we should return to 13 in order to regroup. I don't blame her. After all, she was Boggs' number 2.

I quickly shout, "No! My orders were to kill President Snow. These orders came directly from Coin. I know my orders. Now you don't have to stay, but don't get in my way."

Cressida, the director of the propos, quickly backs up my claim. She states that Plutarch wants the assassination to be televised, thus prompting a quick end to the war.

Although Jackson gives me a suspicious look, she knows that she is outnumbered and I had the Holo. The remaining members agree and we move to another abandoned apartment, since we gave away our position after Mitchell snapped.

As soon as we reach the apartment, the sound of bombs take up all the sound as it appears that the Capitol has attacked our former position. Although the bombs give off an earthquake effect on the area surrounding us, the apartment withstands the beating.

Once silence returns, I quietly ask, "Everyone okay?"

"Yeah…"

"Yes."

"Affirmative."

"We're good."

Before I can say anything however, the television automatically turns on to inform us that we have died by Capitol bombs.

I look over to my squad mates and they give me the same confused look I imagine myself giving them.

They believed we died?

*AN: Again, sorry for the long delay. I have been very busy lately and have hit a bit of writer's block. Hope everyone enjoyed it and sorry if it is bad. I'm still in a bit of a funk.*
