Half Zauberbiest and Portland police captain Sean Renard considered himself a man who didn't scare easily. It took a lot to surprise him; Juliette becoming a Hexenbiest was one surprise, Nick's reaction to the news was another.

Seated at his desk, doing actual police work for a change, Sean looked up abruptly when Nick came banging through his office door.

His heart began to beat faster when he heard the lock click.

The Grimm glinting in his eye, Nick glared at his boss. The power he was exuding made Sean flinch, though he tried not to show it. Royal or not, he was still just Wesen to the Grimm that lived inside Burkhardt. Nick could kill him if he wanted to, and in the big picture, his death wouldn't matter very much.

Nick smiled, but it was predatory, almost cruel. "She came to you first," he spat, leaning over the desk in a classic imitation pose. While Sean was not intimidated by it, he was more worried about what he was seeing in Nick's eyes.

The Grimm inside him was barely being held in check. If Nick didn't get a handle on it, the station could erupt into chaos.

"Nick," Sean said, a pleading note in his voice as he tried to reason with him. "Don't lose control. Not here."

The next thing he knew, Nick had him by his shirt, holding him up against the wall. Even though Sean was taller than Nick, the Grimm was angry enough to actually lift him off the floor.

"Nick, please put me down," said Sean, trying not to show how unnerved he was.

The Grimm snarled, slamming him down onto the floor, and when he spoke, true terror struck Sean's heart, because it was then he realized Nick had let go.

The Grimm was loose.

"How do we help her?" The Grimm demanded, and a foot was suddenly at Sean's throat. Clutching it, he tried not to choke at the slight pressure.

"Juliette?" He managed to gasp. The Grimm nodded. "Did you go to Henrietta?" Another short nod. "What about Adalind?"

The abrupt increase in pressure on his poor throat let Sean know he'd hit a very raw nerve. For a moment, he was afraid he was going to die, but then the pressure eased, just a bit.

"K-kill her," Sean gasped. "She started this, her death is the only way to end it!"

The Grimm took a couple steps back, his expression one of intense disgust. "Where is she?"

The growled question made Sean flinch again but he gave Nick the address and was very relieved to see him go.

Rubbing his throat, he watched as the Grimm strode across the bullpen and out the door, frightened people moving quickly out of his way.

Sean felt sorry for Adalind.

Almost.
