A/N: Hello everybody. For not posting a chapter in a while, I decided to update another just to make up for it. Regular updates should be every Friday or every other Friday (depending on if I finish writing). With me finishing High School it is kind of hard to find time for writing but don't worry, I'll try my best. This one hasn't really been proofread too much so please excuse some grammatical errors. Without further ado, Calvin please read the disclaimers.

Calvin: I don't feel like it Shadé.

Shadé: PokéFan does not own Pokémon. Pokémon is owned by Satoshi Tajiri however the region and concept of Torgé is owned by PokéFan102. He also owns certain OC's and the plotline. Please enjoy!

Rock N Roll

"How come Jerry gets to go first? Has anybody ever heard of ladies first?" I exclaimed.

"Shadé take this as a chance to study Zachary and his battling style," Kenny chided.

"Yeah and Zachary did this for a reason," Kelli piped.

Kenny, Calvin, Kelli, Luc, and I were sitting in the bleachers as my arrogant cousin gets to battle Zachary. After yesterday events, Luc and Kelli found us at the edge of the canyon.

And like always Calvin finds a way to argue with Luc even though Luc didn't do anything. It's nice to see my brother in a better place but this is getting annoying. Like right now they're arguing over better strategies.

"Okay!" I yelled, "Can you two pay attention to the battle!"

They both looked at me sheepishly before turning back to the battle. Right now Jerry is at the advantage since Swampert is a water and ground type versus Zachary's Sodowoodo.

"Swampert use Hammer Arm!" Jerry said.

"Sodowoodo counter with Wood Hammer!" Zachary said.

Swampert's arm starting to glow blue as Sodowoodo's arms glowed a faint green. Arms were swinging back and forth as they exchanged blows for blows. This four on four battle is going to be forever.

Both Pokémon collapse from exhaustion but Swampert stood victorious. Jerry withdrew Swampert and tossed out Bagon's Poké Ball. Zachary chooses to go with his Corsala.

"A dragon type!" Zachary said in amazed.

"Yes and he's strong!" Jerry smirked.

"Corsala start off with Bubblebeam!"

"Bagon counter with Dragonbreath!" Jerry said.

Both attacks collided in the middle, not doing a lot of damage. Dragon type moves don't really have an effect on rock types but then again I don't care what Jerry does.

"For the last time Luc, leave me alone!" Calvin seethed.

"I'm just saying with all this strategies you have, why didn't you enter!" Luc said.

"Something told me not too but don't worry. After this I'll be heading to Lapshire City and then you'll get to see my performance!" Calvin said smugly.

"Whatever princess," Luc muttered.

Calvin growled under his breath but Togetic landed on his head, instantly calming him down. Calvin smiled and patted his Happiness Pokémon on her head. Even as a Togetic, she still refuses to go into her Poké Ball.

I hope Jerry finishes so I can battle soon. I didn't have a grand opportunity to show Zachary what I could do but I wasn't in the best circumstances.

Early I woke up with nightmares about how I couldn't save Regirock. I wasn't entirely bothered but I didn't expect Team Shadow to be that strong. Battling then in Lyndale City was easier than this.

I turned my attention back to the battle to see that Jerry was having the upper hand with Bagon. I just hope that he would hurry up so that I can get my badge. The faster out of Capital, the faster I can help Chimchar.

Chimchar was easily resting in my arm looking at the battle intensely. I was still amazed at the power that Chimchar displayed yesterday. I know something was off about him with this PokéVirus going around but I would have never expected it to amplify his power like it did.

As much as I want to help Chimchar so he can be free, I want to make him my own. I got attached to the little guy and he would make a great addition to my team.

I never told anybody this but I always wanted a Chimchar as a partner. Before I had a chance to I found Eevee and rescued her, I was going to go to Professor Rowan and get one. It was like déjà vú all over again finding him injured in the forest. I was drawn to him just like I was to Leafeon.

"Bagon finish this with Dragonbreath!" Jerry said.

Bagon opened his mouth a huge beam of green energy that fired right into Corsala and knocked her out. I probably should've been paying attention but I'll worry about a strategy later.

"Corsala is unable to battle. Gym Leader, choose your next Pokémon," the ref said.

"You're much stronger than I anticipated. Time to lay on the heavy ones, Rampardos lets go!" Zachary said.

"Bagon, job well done," Jerry said returning him, "Umbreon, victory stance!"

Umbreon popped out of his Poké Ball in boredom. He then looked back and waited for Jerry's command. I don't know why he doesn't use Swampert because that's an easy victory.

"Rampardos start off with Stone-Edge!" Zachary said.

"Umbreon use Double Team!" Jerry said.

Two rings of light surrounded Rampardos before it morphed into stone. The stones were launched at Umbreon but to Rampardos's dismay, Umbreon made several copies of himself around the battlefield.

"Rampardos use Outrage!" Zachary said.

"Umbreon use Feint Attack to dodge then strike him when he least expect it," Jerry said coolly.

Rampardos's eyes raged and he then charged towards the Umbreon copies. The copies started to disappear but then Umbreon disappeared. Rampardos looked confused again before running into a wall. Umbreon appeared above him and slammed his tail onto the top of his head.

"Umbreon wrap this up with Iron Tail!" Jerry shouted.

Umbreon's tail glowed once more before he violently slammed his tail on Rampardos's back. The attack quickly knocked him out and left Umbreon the victor.

"Rampardos is unable to battle. Gym Leader, choose your next Pokémon," the ref said.

"Rampardos you take a nice long rest. Tyranitar rock him!" Zachary said.

Out from his Poké Ball emerged a large green Pokémon with a lot of spikes. I've seen a lot of Pokémon before but I've never seen this one before and it looked very powerful. I took out my PokéDex to scan it.

"Tyranitar, the Armor Pokémon and the evolved form of Pupitar. When enrages, Tyranitar has the power to knock down mountains and bury rivers. Maps must be redrawn afterwards," the PokéDex said.

Of all the times I watched my dad battle, I've never seen him battle a Tyranitar. This will be an interesting battle and I need to pay close attention. I might have to battle this thing next.

"Return Umbreon. Pupitar, victory stance!" Jerry said.

Is he crazy? Having Pupitar going against his evolved form is like suicide. Zachary is an rock specialist so wouldn't he know how to fight a Pupitar. Jerry is in way over his head.

"Tyranitar start off with Stone-Edge!"

"Pupitar counter with your own Stone-Edge!"

Both Pokémon formed rings around their selves. The rings morphed into rocks and they smashed into each other canceling them out. Pupitar was having an intense stare down before Jerry threw another command.

"Pupitar use Pay Back!"

"Tyranitar counter with Foul Play!"

Pupitar glowed a faint purple and a ball formed in front of him. The ball unleashed an energy beam that didn't seem to faze Tyranitar at all. Tyranitar ran through the energy beam after being outline in a black aura. He then slammed Pupitar into a wall.

"End this with Hyperbeam!" Zachary said.

Tyranitar charged an orange bean before unleashing its massive power. The beam stroke Pupitar and knocked him out. Tyranitar is a pure powerhouse. Jerry better think of something quick before he loses another gym battle.

"You did a great job Pupitar. Umbreon let's end this!" Jerry said.

Umbreon emerged on the battlefield and took a stance. Compared to Tyranitar, Umbreon couldn't possibly put a dent on it. Jerry should have used Swampert but he's too stubborn to use common sense.

"Umbreon use Double Team then Iron Tail!" Jerry commanded.

Umbreon made many copies of himself before they sprinted towards Tyranitar. Then his tail glowed silver and he slammed into Tyranitar's legs. Tyranitar dropped to his knees in pain.

"Another Iron Tail!"

"Crunch!"

Umbreon jumped into another back flip and his tail came crushing down on Tyranitar. However, Tyranitar quickly recovered and grabbed Umbreon. It then bit down hard on his side and Umbreon winced in pain.

"Switch to Thunder Fang!" Zachary said.

Tyranitar's mouth became electrified and Umbreon winced in more pain than before. Tyranitar then tossed Umbreon aside like he was nothing.

Umbreon winced as electricity was coated all over his fur. I knew that Umbreon was paralyzed and now was going to suffer the same fate as Pupitar.

Suddenly, Tyranitar was covered in electricity as well. Zachary raised an eyebrow in confusion as Jerry smirked.

"Umbreon's ability is called Synchronize. Any status effect the opponent caused shall suffer the same fate. Umbreon finish this with Iron Tail!" Jerry said.

"Hyperbeam!" Zachary called.

Umbreon's tail glowed again and charges at Tyranitar. However, he suddenly stopped because of the paralysis that left an opening. Tyranitar took this as a chance to unleash his powerful attack that also knocked Umbreon out as well.

"Umbreon is unable to battle. Challenger send out your next Pokémon," the ref called.

"Swampert end this!" Jerry said.

"Battle begin!" The ref called.

"Swampert use Surf!" Jerry said.

"Tyranitar use Stone-Edge!" Zachary said.

Two rings surrounded Tyranitar and they morphed into rocks. The rocks then launched towards Swampert but was blocked by a swirl of water. Swampert then used the swirl to create a tidal wave to ride on. The tidal waved crashed down on Tyranitar causing a lot of damage.

"Finish this with Hammer Arm!" Jerry said.

While Swampert was close, he drew his arms back and smashed them down onto Tyranitar. When he lifted his hands, Tyranitar was knocked out and Jerry won the battle.

"Tyranitar is unable to battle leading Jerry Tucker to be the victor of this battle," the ref said.

Calvin jumped up in excitement and praised our cousin on his victory. Big deal, I could win my badge too. I'm glad he won so he couldn't whine and complain about how and why he lost. As long as I win, that's all that matters.

"Alright kid, here is the Tough-Guts badge signifying your victory at the Capital City gym," Zachary said giving Jerry his badge.

The badge itself was a blue fist crushing a gray rock. It was one of the coolest badges I've seen since the Relic Badge.

"Now little lady, it's your turn!" Zachary said while looking at me.

About time! I've been itching to battle since watching Tyranitar. It's now my time to shine.

-xXx-

"The battle between Shadé Scott and Gym Leader Zachary Jones is about to begin. Each side will use four Pokémon and only the challenger may substitute. Trainers choose your Pokémon!" The ref said.

I can't let yesterday effect me. I couldn't save Regirock but I will make up for it today. Zach better not under estimate me. I let Ronald slide but I won't let him.

"Mr. Mime, battle dance!" I called.

"Gravelor, rock them!" Zachary called.

"Let the battle begin!" The ref said.

"Mime Jr. start off with Hypnosis!" I said.

"Gravelor dodge it!" Zachary said.

Mr. Mime waved his hands and a cyclone of waves was unleashed on the battlefield. Gravelor was too slow and was hit instantly, making him fall asleep. This was the perfect time to strike.

"Mr. Mime now use Confusion and toss him into the wall!" I said.

Mr. Mime's eyes glowed blue and Gravelor was outlined in blue. Mr. Mime waved his hand to the side and Gravelor was smashed into the wall. Gravelor quickly opened his eyes and shook the away like the attack did nothing.

"You're going to have to do more than that little girl. Gravelor use Stone-Edge!" Zachary said.

Gravelor was surrounded by blue rings until they morphed into rocks. Gravelor flung his hands and the rocks was coming straight for Mr. Mime. I didn't expect him to retaliate so quickly but I have a trick up my sleeve.

"Mr. Mime use Confusion on the rocks!" I said.

Mr. Mime's eyes was glowing again and the rocks stopped in place. My dad always taught me to be on alert and be aware of your opponent.

"While he's concentrating, Gravelor use Roll-Out!" Zachary said.

I didn't even see that coming. Gravelor rolled into a ball and plumbed into Mr. Mime at full speed. Looks like I'm going to have to be on offense.

"Mr. Mime use Reflect! Then use Hypnosis again!" I said.

"Gravelor use Defense Curl!" Zachary said.

Gravelor rolled into a ball while Mr. Mime put up an golden box. Mr. Mime released psychic waves that bounce off of Gravelor. This isn't going to work. I need to finish this.

"Mr. Mime use Confusion then switch to Magical Leaf!" I said.

Zachary eyes widen but before he could call a command, Mr. Mime was already controlling Gravelor. Mr. Mime then spun in a circle and razor sharp light green leaves appeared and smashed into Gravelor. When the attack was over, Gravelor was knocked out.

"Gravelor is unable to battle. Gym leader, select your next Pokémon." The ref said.

"You got lucky kid," Zachary smirked, "but you won't get any further. Sodowoodo, I choose you!"

Great! Another Pokémon that I'm familiar with. I'm so glad I watched all of dad's battle since I was a little kid. I got this in the bag.

"Mr. Mime, great job!" I said as I returned my Mime Pokémon.

I need a Pokémon that is speedy and agile and I know just who should do it.

"Leafeon, battle dance!" I called.

There is nobody I trust better than my starter Pokémon. Leafeon is both speedy and agile plus she has a type advantage. Sodowoodo, you're going down!"

"Leafeon start off with Energy Ball!" I said.

"Sodowoodo use Protect, then Fake Tears!" Zachary smirked.

Leafeon opened her mouth and a green sphere launched at Sodowoodo only to crash into a green shield. Sodowoodo then started crying and flailing all over the place. Being the nice Pokémon she is, Leafeon rushed over to comfort her.

"Leafeon, it's a trap!" I yelled.

"Sodowoodo use Stone-Edge!" Zachary said.

Blue rings surrounded Sodowoodo until it morphed into rocks. The rocks then launched towards Leafeon, causing more damage than I expected. I need to think outside of the box.

"Leafeon use Sunny Day!" I said.

"Sodowoodo stand guarded!" Zachary commanded.

Leafeon opened her mouth a flame sphere appeared in front of her. She then tossed the sphere in the air and the sun intensified through the sunroof. This gave me a little more of an advantage.

"Leafeon use Leaf Blade!"

"Sodowoodo use Wood Hammer!"

Leafeon's leaf on her head expanded and glowed a light green. Sodowoodo's arms did the same thing and it rushed towards Leafeon. Leafeon charged as well and the two Pokémon was exchanging blows. Since Sodowoodo is close, here is my chance.

"Leafeon use Solarbeam!" I said.

Zachary's face paled as Leafeon charges a light green sphere. Soon after the sphere turned into a beam and crashed into Sodowoodo at close range. When the attack was over, Sodowoodo suffered the same fate as Gravelor.

"Sodowoodo is unable to battle. Gym leader choose your next Pokémon!" The ref said.

"Hm, I underestimated you. Now I'm going to really get you now, Corsala rock them!" Zachary said.

Aha, I've been waiting for Corsala. I saw the damage that she can do but with one Solarbeam she can be out too since she is a water and rock type. This is a piece of cake.

"Leafeon use Solarbeam once more!" I said.

Leafeon charged and launched another beam right at Corsala. Zachary smirked and commanded, "Mirror Coat!"

My face fell as Corsala was outlined in pink. As soon as the Solarbeam hit her, it was reflected back at Leafeon and crashes into her. The worst part is that Mirror Coat does double the damage.

"Leafeon can you still battle?" I asked.

Leafeon weakly stood up and stumbled a little. I didn't know the intensity of the Solarbeam. I'm not going to take any chance so I recalled Leafeon before any more damage was done.

"Tirtouga, you're up next! Battle dance!" I called.

One again, Tirtouga popped out if his Poké Ball and instantly feel asleep. What is wrong with him! He doesn't listen to a word I say and he does whatever he wanted to. I should've token my chances with Beldum or Happiny.

"Tirtouga use Water Gun!" I said hopefully.

"Corsala, counter with Bubblebeam!" Zachary said.

Tirtouga opened his eyes and look confused to be on the battlefield. He then glares at me before going back to sleep. I face palmed myself because one again Tirtouga refuses to listen. Corsala took the chance and sputtered a barrage of bubbles that woke Tirtouga out of his sleep.

"Corsala attack again with Head Smash!" Zachary said.

"Tirtouga use Attract!" I said.

Tirtouga rolled his eyes and coated himself in water. He then launched himself towards Corsala. Corsala glowed a light blue and was surrounded in blue energy. She then launched towards Tirtouga until they smashed into each other. They both struggled to overpower each other but it looked as Corsala was winning.

"Tirtouga switch to Water Gun!" I said.

"Corsala switch to Mirror Coat!" Zachary said.

Tirtouga opened his mouth and a silver ball formed. Tirtouga launched the silver ball at Corsala. Corsala glowed light pink and the ancient power was reflect back at Tirtouga.

"Tirtouga you have to listen to me!" I screamed in frustration.

Tirtouga launched a water gun to my face before he surrounded himself in water again. He launched himself at Corsala again and smashed into her.

"Tirtouga that's enough!" I called out.

However, Tirtouga wasn't going to listen. Tirtouga opened his mouth and an orange sphere formed.

"Corsala use Spike Cannon. Max power!" Zachary said calmly.

Tirtouga launched his attack but it was pulverized by the barrage of spikes that shot out of Corsala coral. The barrage hit Tirtouga dead on and instantly knocked him out.

"I wish you weren't so hardheaded!" I scolded as I recalled him.

"Your Tirtouga holds a lot of power but he needs discipline!" Zachary said.

I grumbled to myself before deciding my next Pokémon. Leafeon still is weak from the damage she took and Beldum and Happiny aren't good choices either. That just leaves Mr. Mime but I need to go around the mirror coat.

"Mr. Mime, battle dance!" I called.

"Corsala stay sharp!" Zachary ordered.

"Mr. Mime use Reflect!" I said.

"Corsala use Rock Blast!" Zachary said.

Mr. Mime waves his hands and danced around and a golden box surrounded him again. Corsala was surrounded by three rings of blue light that morphed into rocks. Corsala then launched the rocks.

"Mr. Mime, use Confusion on the rocks. Raise them above Corsala then drop them," I commanded.

Mr. Mime stopped the rocks with his psychic powers. He then launched it above Corsala and the rocks were free falling. I hope he does what I think he's going to do.

"Corsala use Mirror Coat!" Zachary said.

"Mr. Mime use Hypnosis!" I smirked.

Corsala was outlined in pink and the rocks bounced off of her in every direction. Mr. Mime waved his hands and psychic waves hit Corsala and she instantly feel asleep. Here is my chance to finish this.

"Mr. Mime use Magical Leaf!" I yelled.

Mr. Mime waved around and light green crescent shaped leaves smashed into Corsala and knocked her out. I jumped up and down to praise Mr. Mime before Zachary recalled Corsala. Only one Pokémon left.

"I must admit Shadé, you put up a good fight but you can't handle my final Pokémon. Steelix, I choose you!" Zachary said.

Zachary unleashed a giant snake made completely out of steel. I'm guessing this is his acceptation Pokémon and I must admit I'm a little intimidated. Chimchar cowered behind my leg and I pat his head in comfort.

"Don't worry Chimchar, I'll win this battle!" I winked.

"Let the battle begin!" The ref said.

"Mr. Mime use Confusion and lift him!" I said.

"Steelix, stand by!" Zachary smirked.

Mr. Mime's eyes glowed blue and he tried to lift Steelix up. He barely got him off the ground before he was panting from exhaustion. I don't think the attack barely had an effect.

"Steelix use Iron Tail!" Zachary smirked.

Steelix's tail glowed a faint silver and he slammed it down on Mr. Mime. The reflect cut the attack in half but it still was enough to overpower Mr. Mime and knocked him out.

"Mr. Mime is unable to battle! Challenger choose your next Pokémon," the ref said.

"Great job buddy," I praised Mr. Mime.

"Leafeon, battle dance!" I called out.

"Steelix use Rock Tomb!" Zachary said.

"Leafeon get close and use Energy Ball!" I said.

Steelix slammed his tail to the ground and pillars of stone surrounded Leafeon. However, Leafeon sprinted upon the rocks to holster herself up and launched a green sphere at Steelix. Maybe I can wrap this up in one Solarbeam.

"Leafeon use Sunny Day!" I said.

Zachary smirked as Leafeon launched a flaming sphere in the air to intensify the sunlight. Steelix was close to Leafeon and Zachary called his next attack.

"Steelix use Fire Fang!" He said.

Steelix wrapped Leafeon up before biting down on her. His mouth then burst into flames and covered Leafeon in fire. It didn't help that the Sunny Day boost fire type attacks so I was surprise when Leafeon was knocked out.

"Leafeon is unable to battle. Challenger, call out your next Pokémon," the ref said.

All I have left is Happiny and Beldum. Beldum isn't going to work because Take-Down is its only attack and Fire Fang is super effective. Happiny is too small and only have offensive attacks.

Chimchar tugged my leg to pull me out of my thoughts. Then he surprised me when he jumped on the battlefield with a determined face. I don't understand because Chimchar barely likes to battle and he seems scared of Steelix.

"Let the battle begin," the ref called.

"Steelix use Sandstorm!" Zachary said.

Before I could protest. Steelix bit the end of its tail and spun around. As he was spinning he created a cyclone of sand that was heading right for Chimchar. My intuition kicked and I commanded Chimchar to dodge.

"Chimchar retaliate," I said.

I didn't know all of Chimchar's moves. The only ones I can remember is Ember and Fire Spin. I couldn't scan him with my PokéDex because he wasn't my Pokémon.

Chimchar opened his mouth and a barrage of fireballs smashed into Steelix that weakened him. Steelix went crashing down on the ground.

"Steelix you have to get up again," Zachary said.

"Chimchar retaliate again!" I said.

Chimchar rolled himself in a ball of fire and then headed straight for Steelix. I recognized this move as Flame Wheel. Chimchar repeatedly ran into Steelix until he started getting tired.

"Steelix is unable to battle! The winner is challenger Shadé Scott," the ref said.

My friends were cheering very loudly from the sidelines. I quickly scooped Chimchar in my arms and gave him a bone crushing hug. I couldn't have won this battle without him.

Chimchar leaped out of my arms and went to my Poké Ball belt. He tapped the empty Poké Ball and it trapped him inside until the ball stopped shaking. I was just as surprised as everybody else that Chimchar decided that I should be his trainer.

-xXx-

"I would like to present to you the Tough-Guts badge," Zachary said.

He placed the badge in my hand and I added it to my three previous badges. Four down and only four more to go. I will admit that it was hard but I knew I could win it.

"Now I would like to talk to you about your Tirtouga. During our battle, I couldn't help but notice that Tirtouga doesn't listen to you. Why?" Zachary asked.

"I have idea," I admitted quietly, "He's been like that ever since I caught him. He always does what he wants."

"I could help you. As a rock-type specialist, I would like to personally train your Tirtouga," Zachary offered.

I was stunned. I could have trained him on my own but I'm not too sure of myself. Zachary could possible make Tirtouga listen. As much as I don't want to, I'll admit it's for the best. I grabbed Tirtouga's Poké Ball and withdrew him.

"Tirtouga, I think you should train with Zachary. It might benefit you in the end," I said.

Tirtouga's reply was a water gun to my face and he went back to sleep. I sighed and gave Zachary his Poké Ball.

"Don't worry, he'll be different by the time I'm done," Zachary smirked.

I sure hope so. I may have gained a new Pokémon but I doesn't help that I still lost one. I've got a long way to go if I want to be a Pokémon master.

A/N: And that was chapter twelve. It is so hard to write this from another point of view but I think I am getting the hang of this. Thank you all for reading and until next time.

Announcers: Next time on, "A Crazy Journey Across Torgé," our heroes go on an adventure to the Safari Zone. Then later Shadé has a run in with an old rival. And what's the deal at the Lake of Frost? Will our heroes prevail over obstacles or shall they fall too. Find out next time on "Icy Roads ahead!"

Shadé: I guess this is my job now. Thank you all for reading. It means a lot to the other. Please review so we can get some type of feedback.
