A/N: Happy Friday and welcome to "A Crazy Journey Across Torgé," I finally accomplished updating on time and I hope you guys enjoy it. Calvin, disclaimers please!

Shadé: Calvin is currently… a little tied up so he sent me to do it. PokéFan102 does not own Pokémon. He only owns the plot and the region as well as several OCs. Zara, Mystic, and Ashley is owned by AlwaysSearching2012, 1029384753, and TheCandyCup respectively. Now here is chapter thirteen.

Icy Roads Ahead

I woke up the next day chirpier than ever. Having four badges down and four more to go was a wonderful feeling. Although I still couldn't shake the loss of Tirtouga.

As much as I don't want to admit it, Tirtouga was my powerhouse. Well, second to Beldum. Tirtouga may have no listen to me but I won so many badges because of him. Hopefully Zachary can do a better job at raising him then I could.

"Chim... Chimchar!" My chimp Pokémon yawned as he rose up.

"Morning sleepy head," I giggled.

"Chim... Chim!" He stretched and looked me with those big eyes.

"Come on let's go!" I said.

Chimchar leaped into my arms as I carried him. I opened the door to see Calvin, Kenny, and Jerry impatiently waiting for me so we can leave. Calvin seem the most impatient of them all as he stood there tapping his foot.

"Come on let's go already. My next ribbon is going to win itself!" He huffed.

I glared at him for rushing me and brushed passed him. I would've been more understanding if he was in such a hurry. I'm not in a rush to sit through a stupid contest anyway.

"Actually lets do some before we go!" Kenny said.

"Like what?" Jerry asked in a bored tone.

"There is a Safari Zone, I wanted to go to," Kenny piped.

"Actually that sounds like a good idea," I agreed.

I could use some more Pokémon, especially after Tirtouga is undergoing some person training. I could use a couple of additions to my team.

"Fine but only because I've never been to one!" Calvin huffed.

-xXx-

The Safari Zone was a lot different from what I expected. It's such a nice change from the swamp area that was all over Sinnoh before. This Safari Zone was separated into three different sections. A forest that was filled with Bug Pokémon, a lakeside with regular Swamp-native Pokémon and I mountain type area.

We decided to go in pairs and unfortunately I was stuck with Jerry. Of all the people around me and I had to get stuck with him. His stick in the mud attitude wasn't helping anyway.

"We should hurry, we don't have much time," he grumbled.

"Well excuse me for trying to be adventurous!" I snapped.

We just glared at each other until the bushes started to rumble. Out of the bush popped a little mushroom Pokémon and it was looking skeptical.

"What's that Pokémon?" I asked.

"It's a Shroomish. They're kind of weak but they evolve into a really powerful fighting type," Jerry shrugged.

"Well I'm going to go catch it!" I declared.

"Fine suit yourself, I'll wait until your done," Jerry struggled again.

I quickly grabbed some food and tossed it at Shroomish. Everybody likes food so catching it should be very easy. I unclipped my Safari Ball and waited for Shroomish to finish eating.

Suddenly a Safari Ball was thrown and Shroomish was sucked inside. I looked to my side to find Jerry with a smug look on his face. The ball stopped juggling and the ball dinged, signally the success of his capture.

"You jerk!" I screeched.

Jerry shrugged his shoulders and continued to walk away. I can't believe he just caught the Shroomish that I wanted so badly. The nerve of that guy. And everybody wonders why he gets on my nerves.

"Finders keepers! I'm done with this anyway. I have what I wanted," Jerry shrugged and walked away.

Well this really sucks. I was looking forward to having a new Pokémon. I'll just have to keep looking some more if I really want one.

I walked deeper into the forest, by myself, to find a horde of Bug Pokémon. All these Pokémon were fighting each other but nothing stood out like the Heracross and Pinsir going toe to toe.

I watched in amazement as the two Bug Pokémon was going at it. Horns and pincers was crashing into each other until they both grew tired. I advanced slowly towards the fight but Pinsir saw me and flew away.

I wasn't going to give up on not catching a strong Pokémon so I threw my Poké Ball at Heracross. The Poké Ball wiggled and wiggled until it finally dinged, signaling my success.

"Well that was easy," I said out loud.

The bushes rattled again and Kenny and Calvin popped out. I was relieved that I didn't have to walk down this road by myself. The Safari Zone is kind of big and I was starting to get scared.

"Hey Shadé, where is Jer?" Calvin asked.

"That jerk caught a Shroomish then left me by myself," I huffed.

"We were suppose to stick together!" Calvin growled.

"Doesn't matter, I don't need that jerk anyway!" I shrugged.

Calvin signed as rubbed his temples. I know he wants Jerry and I to get along but it's pointless. We've been like water and oil since we were little. Years later and that hasn't changed. He needs to just accept it.

Which brings me to my next point. I need a little bit more time and maybe one more Pokémon. Heracross is great and all but I need one more to fall back on.

Just when I thought I lost all hope, I heard a rustle in the bushes. I inches closer until lighting branch out and I swiftly moved back. An agitated sheep looking Pokémon popped out that I've seen several of back home.

The Mareep look at me with a bored tone before going back into the bushes. I quickly unclipped my PokéBall and tossed it right at it. The ball hit and it wiggled and couple of times before signaling the catch was a success.

"Yeah that two in a row!" I cheered.

"Time is up! Thank you for participating in the Safari Zone. All participates please move to the main lobby. Thank you and have a great day," the intercom yelled.

"Well I guess that is it. And you even manage to snag two new Pokemon," Kenny chirped.

Yeah I guess he was right however that didn't stop the emptiness that I felt without Tirtouga. Sure he was stubborn but I never really had a chance to bond with him.

-xXx-

"Well since we are official done here how about we hit the road and head towards Lapshire City. My new ribbon is calling my name and I can feel it," Calvin chimed.

I rolled my eyes and his suddenly enthusiasm and stiffened a giggle. I've been ready to leave. The faster we go through the stupid contest the sooner we get to my fifth gym badge.

I continued to glare at Jerry as he shrugged at the idea. I'm still mad at the stupid prick for leaving me in the Safari Zone. The bastard has yet to apologize so I'm going to ignore his existence.

The four of use finally got up to leave the Pokémon Center when three familiar faces appeared. Entering was none other than Ashley, Zara, and Mystic. They immediate perked up when they saw us approaching them.

"Hey guys, what are you doing here," Ashley beamed.

"We're about to leave. Our next destination is Lapshire City!" Kenny answered.

"Oh that's cool. We're here to actually challenge the gym. Was it hard," Zara asked looking at me.

"It was pretty tuff but I managed to snag a new badge," I said with pride, pulling out my badge case.

"That's so cool!" Zara exclaimed while observing the badge.

I only smirked in surprise before I put the badge away. Zara had a glint in her eye but she hesitated to say something. I shrugged it off as nothing and gave them a small smile.

"Well we have to get going. See you around," Jerry dismissed and kept on walking.

Calvin and Kenny waves goodbye before following there league. I looked back at them before smiling brightly and giving them the thumbs up before I headed away myself.

Once we were outside I was hit with the chilling autumn wind. I forgot that I've been on the road for so long that the seasons changed significantly. When we left it was the beginning of summer and look how the seasons changed.

"Hey Shadé!" I heard.

I turned around to find Zara with the same twinkle in here eye that she had before. I raised an eyebrow and await for her question.

"Let's have a battle!" She smiled.

I nodded accepting here challenge. I could use the battle as a means to training since I won't have a gun battle for a while. She better bring her best game because I am not holding back.

Zara walked to the other side of me while our friends watched in anticipation. Calvin volunteered to be our referee while gulping in fear. Zara had a look of determination on her face and I smirked with pride. This might be a piece of cake.

"This battle is a three on three battle with no substitutions from either side. The best two out of three is determined the winner. Let the battle begin!" Calvin said

"Espeon I choose you," Zara said.

Hmm, an Espeon. I know that it's a powerful psychic type Pokémon and it looks pretty powerful. I know I'm taking a gamble with my choice but oh well.

"Heracross, battle dance!" I called.

My new bipedal Bug-Type Pokémon looked around in confusion. I could tell she was a girl from the heart shape on the end of her horn. Let's see what we can do.

"Let the battle begin!" Calvin said.

"Espeon use Hidden Power!" Zara shouted.

"Heracross dodge then use Horn Attack!" I said.

Espeon was surrounded by an array of brown bubble and then launched then towards Heracross. Heracross used it wings to fly away and swat the Hidden Power away with its horns. It then continued to sway her horns on Espeon causing a lot of damage.

"Espeon suspend Heracross in the air with Psychic then use Calm Mind!" Zara yelled.

I watched as Heracross struggled to break free from the psychic hold on her. I didn't have any idea what to do since most of Heracross's moves were physical. Then an idea struck me.

"Heracross use Stone-Edge!" I yelled.

Heracross was surrounded by multiple silver rings before they morphed into stones. She then used her horn to launch the stones at Espeon creating more damage.

"Espeon use Shadow Ball!" Zara said.

"Heracross slap it back with Horn Attack!" I said.

Espeon created a large sphere of shadowy energy then launched it at Heracross. Heracross smiled happily before smashing her horn and launching the Shadow Ball right back at Espeon. The Shadow Ball knocked Espeon back and caused her faint.

"Espeon is unable to battle. Shadé wins the first round," Calvin said.

"Great job Heracr..." I said but was interrupted by Heracross tackling me. She licked me in affection before I returned her to her PokéBall.

"That was a good battle but my next Pokémon won't be so easy. Come on out Zangoose!" Zara yelled.

"Leafeon, battle dance!" I said.

Out from Zara's PokéBall came a menacing look Pokémon. It was all white with a red strip across its torso and razor sharp claws to match. I pulled out my PokéDex to scan the menacing Pokémon.

"Zangoose, the Cat Ferret Pokémon. Zangoose can stand on its hind legs when angered. It has been having a long feud with Seviper for years and is rumored to dodge nose enemy attacks," my PokéDex said.

Looks like we're going to have to match speed with speed. Zara is pulling out any more cards I see. She is using her big guns and I must be on high alert.

"Zangoose, start off with Crush Claw!" Zara said.

"Leafeon dodge it then use Energy Ball!" I said.

smirked then sprinted on all fours while white static radiated off its claw. It then struck down on Leafeon but she somersaulted around it and fired a green sphere of energy at it.

Zangoose smirked again and cut the energy ball in half before striking Leafeon without a command. I gritted my teeth as I watched Leafeon struggle to get up. Zangoose is both powerful and fast and I must be careful.

"Leafeon jumped into the air and use Aerial Ace!" I shouted.

"Zangoose, counter with Quick Attack!" Zara shouted as well!

Zangoose was faster and harshly tackled Leafeon before she had a chance to Attack. Leafeon struggled to get up and Zara yelled a command as she saw Leafeon struggle.

"Swords Dance!"

"Sunny Day!"

If Zara is going for the kill maybe one last Solarbeam can slow her down. Then I'll finish up with a Leaf Blade of my own.

"Zangoose use Shadow Claw!"

"Leafeon use Solarbeam!"

Leafeon charged a sphere before releasing a huge blast of energy towards Zangoose. Zangoose then leaped over the beam and smirked at Leafeon. It's claw was coated in ghostly energy before it slashed down and knocked Leafeon out.

"Zangoose is declared the winner. The next trainer to win this battle is declared the winner," Calvin said.

"Great job Zangoose! You take a nice long rest!" Zara cheered.

I've never saw somebody take down Leafeon so quickly. Usually it takes a lot but Zangoose did it so swiftly it left me mesmerized. However, Zara doesn't have a chance against my next Pokémon.

"Chimchar, battle dance!" I shouted.

Chimchar gave me a timid look before he left from behind my leg and slowly walked to the battlefield. I winced as I forgot how timid Chimchar is around new and unfamiliar people.

"I choose you, Treecko!" Zara said.

Out of her PokéBall, a very family green gecko Pokémon appeared. I could easily tell it was a girl by the way it posed and battered its eyelashes. It doesn't matter because Chimchar has the advantage.

"Treecko, start off with Bullet Seed!" Zara said.

"Chimchar you counter with Ember," I said calmly.

Treecko was clearly the faster if the two and unleashed a barrage of glowing yellow seeds. Chimchar inhaled and exhaled a large barrage of fireballs that easily penetrated the Bullet Seed and burned Treecko.

"That's a very power Ember attack but not powerful enough. Treecko use Hidden Power!" Zara said.

"Chimchar use Flame Wheel!" I said.

Chimchar rolled into a ball of flames before rolling towards Treecko. Treecko surrounded herself with brown bubbles and launched them at Chimchar. Chimchar penetrated the bubbles and tackled into Treecko with the powerful super effective attack.

"Treecko is unable to battle! Shadé is declared the winner!" Calvin said.

I smiled as Chimchae leaped back into my arms and I swung him around in joy. Zara smiled sheepishly before returning Treecko back to her PokéBall.

"Zara don't feel too bad. With that Zangoose of yours the Tough-Guts badge is practically yours. Good luck!" I praised as we begin to head to Route 409. I hope this is an hard trip to Lapshire City because I need the training.

-xXx-

I take that back. Route 409 is blazing hot. All of the sand is making me dizzy and agitated as the heat blazes on me. Chimchar seemed to be unaffected and was happily smiling. I guess most Fire-Types love the heat.

I looked over and Calvin and Kenny are sluggishly falling behind. Togetic was so agitated that she willingly went back into her PokéBall. Piplup wasn't too thrilled but decided to suffer with his trainer.

"Come on guys pick up the pace. We should be there before nightfall!" Jerry sassed.

This kid is really starting to get on my nerves. All he does is whine and complain about everything that we are doing wrong. Maybe he should carry us if we were too much baggage.

"Can we take a break?" Calvin whined.

"No," Jerry muttered.

"Why not?" Calvin whined again.

And that's how the whole Route 409 with. Calvin complaining about everything and Jerry ignoring him or replying rudely. If it wasn't so hot then I would tell them both to shut up but that's not too likely at the moment.

Hours past and they were still arguing. I was getting so fed up with it that I didn't even notice that the environment was changing. How the hell it goes from being blazing hot to freshly powdering snow? And it doesn't help that I'm wearing this mini skirt and jean jacket.

"Wow it's freezing out here!" Kenny said.

"No it's blazing hot," Jerry added sarcastically.

"Hey guys what's that?" Calvin asked.

"It looks like a lake," Kenny observed.

Indeed it was a lake. In the middle it look likes a big island with a coven in it. All around the lake was Ice-Type Pokémon. Some recognizable ones are Froslass, Snovers, and Sneasel. Seel and Cloyster were floating around in the water freely.

"Whoa, this is wicked cool!" Kenny exclaimed.

"This surely interesting!" Calvin said.

Calvin has a point. What is a frozen lake doing in the middle of the desert. I know this is farfetched but something isn't adding up.

"What is that helicopter doing here?" Jerry asked.

I looked over and there was a black helicopter with a very familiar logo on there. My face paled as I notice the logo to be Team Shadow's. Kenny, Jerry, and Calvin noticed the same thing as a bunch of grunts came out of no where.

"Well what do we have here?" A sinister voice asked.

Chimchar cringed and sank deeper into my body and he hid his face. I glared at the the lady who seemed familiar as well with her cold blue hair and her slicked back black hair.

"Lady Ninja, what should we do with these children?" A grunt asked.

"Dispose of them. Dump them in the river. We can't have them interfering with our plans any more," Lady Ninja said and pulled out a PokéBall as she walked to the water edge.

"What are we suppose to do?" Kenny harshly whispered as the grunts tried to close in on us.

"It's four of us and six of them. Fight back! Piplup use Ice Beam!" Calvin said.

"I couldn't agree more! Tailow use Aerial Ace!" Jerry said.

"Cosmic use Thunder Wave!" Kenny said throwing his own PokéBall.

"Go Chimchar, use Ember!" I shouted.

Attacks was flying towards the oblivious grunts and they didn't have a chance to defend themselves. This is kind of insulting to our intelligence because they expected us not to fight back. Luckily it wasn't that many to begin with.

"Now we have to follow Lady Ninja but how are we suppose to get across the lake?" Kenny asked.

"Leave that to me," a new voice said.
