A/N: Hey guys. I know it is Sunday and I was supposed to update last Friday but some other things came up. That is not an excuse on why I didn't upload but that was my reasoning. I feel even worse because this chapter is extremely short. I proofread this to the best. Also special thanks to Y-ko for reviewing. Even though it was criticism it was still a review. Shadé, read the disclaimers please.
Shadé: PokéFan, does not own Pokémon at all. He only own selective characters and the plotline and the idea of Torgé. Here is chapter fourteen.
"Ice Cold Heart"
"I can help with that," a new voice suggested.
Kenny, Calvin, Jerry, and I jumped in surprised as we looked around for the voice.
"Up here," the voice said from above.
We looked up to see a young women peacefully sitting on a branch of a snow covered tree. She leaped from her position and landed gracefully and stood her ground. Now that I see her up close, she was very pretty. She had long red hair that was pushed back with a white headband and vibrant green eyes and her checks was laced in freckles. She wore a white trench coat, scarf, gloves, jeans and snow boats.
"Not to be rude but who are you?" Jerry stuttered.
"Oh," she giggled, "how rude of me. My name is Vivian Sinclair but you can call me ViVi!"
"No way!" Kenny exclaimed.
"What?" I asked.
"It's ViVi Sinclair, the Elite Four Member!" Kenny exclaimed again.
"How do you know?" Jerry asked.
"She's always in the news. She also opened up a Trainer's academy in Lapshire City," Kenny explained.
"Lapshire city is my hometown and I always been drawn to the Lake of Frost since I've been a little girl. That's where I first caught my Pokémon," ViVi said as she took out a PokéBall.
ViVi threw her PokéBall in the air and a Froslass emerged. This Froslass looks just as powerful as Candice's. I don't much about ice types but most of my Pokémon have a weakness to it, excluding Chimchar. I'll stick closely to ViVi during our battle.
"Okay now that we know who you are, how do we get across the lake?" Calvin asked.
ViVi smiles and walked towards the edge where a boat was perched on the land. We quickly ran to the boat because we know we are running out of time. We can't make sure that whatever Team Shadow came here for, they don't leave with it.
"Okay everybody take a paddle and start to row," ViVi said.
We all hop inside the boat and quickly rowed. Chimchar calmly rested on my head as he wasn't effected by the cold weather. Some of the freezing water hit my leg and I tried to clench my teeth but I couldn't help but yelp.
When we were almost clear, I caught two Vulture-looking Pokémon soaring above about to release some shadow balls. ViVi told us to row faster and we narrowly dodge the shadow balls at the barrages at the water. Team Shadow must know that we are nearby because the Vulture Pokémon wouldn't stop attacking. I can't sit here and risk them striking the boat because this water is too cold to swim in.
"Chimchar use Ember!" I commanded.
"Great idea Shadé! Piplup use Bubblebeam!" Calvin said.
"Froslass use Shadow Ball!" ViVi said.
All three attacks successfully landed on the Vulture Pokémon and they came crashing in the water. This made our jobs slightly easier as we made a smooth sail to the dock and successfully land.
The four of us quickly hopped out of the boat and enter the small cavern. We had a barrage of grunts waiting for us and I shook my head in annoyance. It look to be about three or four grunts waiting here so not all of us should stay.
"Calvin, Shadé will handle these grunts. Jerry and Kenny, get inside and try to stop whatever they are doing. We will meet you inside!" ViVi commanded.
"And what about you?" I asked sternly.
"I have a plan but you have to trust me!" ViVi said.
I was skeptical but I obliged. The grunts all sent out Mightyena's and those vulture look Pokémon again. I need to know what those Vulture Pokémon are so I took out my PokéDex to find out.
"Mandibuzz, the Bone Vulture Pokémon. Mandibuzz uses its sharp talons and its beak to pick on weak prey. The use a lot of aerial attacks," my PokéDex said.
Great! The only Pokémon who has an advantage is Mareep. I really hope my brother has my back with this one or we would be dead fish.
"Okay Shadé cover my back. I think we can take all these grunts," Calvin exclaimed.
"Just be careful, alright?" I sternly scold him.
"You'll be lucky if you think you can beat all of us, you foolish children!" One grunt said.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah! Save it for someone who cares!" I said.
"You'll regret it. Mandibuzz, use Air Slash," a grunt said.
"Mightyena use Crunch!" Another grunt said.
"Samurott, come on out and use Razor Shell!"
"Mareep use Thunder Wave!" I said throwing his PokéBall.
Mareep yawned lazily but released a shockwave of electric bolts that paralysis all of the Mandibuzz. Samurott hopped out of his PokéBall and removed his seamiter and slashed all the Mightyena with his attack. The grunts were in shock that most of their Pokémon was easily token out.
"You were saying," I smartly said.
"You got lucky little girl!" A grunt spat.
"Samurott, freeze them with Ice Beam. Piplup you help out too," Calvin commanded.
Samurott and Piplup both released streams of freezing energy that froze the remaining grunts outside of the cavern. Calvin smirked in satisfaction before hopping on Samurott's back. I followed his lead, with Chimchar still attached to my head, and we took off inside the cavern.
The cavern was way bigger than it appeared to be on the outside. I saw Jerry and Kenny fighting alongside Bagon and Banjee as they swooped through a lot of grunts. Lady Ninja was inching towards a cave inside the cavern and I immediately knew that it couldn't be good.
"Calvin we have to follow her!" I shouted.
"Leave her to me," ViVi said from behind.
"Well I'm coming with!" I demanded.
"It is too dangerous!" Calvin said.
Kenny and Jerry was finished with their grunts and they charged towards us.
"How about Shadé, Kenny, and I go and you and ViVi stay out here," Jerry suggested.
Calvin looked very stern before sighing in defeat. He motioned us to go and the three of us sprinted to the small cave that was surrounded my more grunts.
"Everybody come on out!" I heard Calvin shout.
I looked behind me to see an unknown brown Pokémon, Mismaguis, Eevee, Blaziken, and Togetic joining Samurott and Piplup. The brown Pokémon, Piplup, and Samurott all used ice attacks that froze the grunts and allowed us to pass.
"This way!" Kenny shouted.
We ran deeper in the cave to see Lady Ninja injected something into a Snorunt. She cackles before looking back at us and summoned her Ninetales. I grow angrier as I saw the Snorunt fidget in place.
"What did you do?" Jerry asked angrily.
"Don't worry about it little boy. I'm getting tired of you kids interfering with my plans. Ninetales, get rid of the brats," she commanded.
Ninetales growled at us before barking loudly. Lady Ninja cackled and then proceeded to walk deeper into the cave. Kenny, Jerry, and I shared a look and started to panic as Ninetales was getting closer.
"What are we going to do?" Kenny ask.
"Shadé and I will create a distraction. You go after Lady Ninja," Jerry said.
Ninetales leaped into the air and released a powerful flamethrower! We managed to leap out of the way just in time before the attack scorched us. Jerry released Swampert from his PokéBall and Kenny took off in the direction that Lady Ninja sprinted in.
"Swampert us Hydropump!" Jerry commanded.
Ninetales started digging under the ground and it narrowly dodged the Hydropump. I started to panic because Ninetales could reappear anywhere and strike. I felt the ground underneath me shake and I was pushed into the air with Ninetales trailing behind me. It opened its mouth to release another flamethrower but was repeatedly scratched in the face by Chimchar.
"Chimchar, attack again with Fury Swipes!" I said.
Chimchar continued to scratch Ninetales until it bit down and tossed Chimchar to an ice pillar. Ninetales then leaped back underground and continued to hide.
"We are not going through this again! Swampert use Surf!" Jerry commanded.
Swampert made a gigantic wave of water and crashed it down. The water flooded the holes that was made and Ninetales come floating back up. Ninetales growled with anger and started charging a light green beam of energy.
"Not so fast. Chimchar use Flame Charge!" I said.
Chimchar surrounds himself in a ball of fire and speed his way towards Ninetales. He crashed Ninetales to the side and the Solarbeam crashed into the ceiling and rocks started to crash down. Jerry and I quickly moved out of the way and barely missed the falling rocks.
"Now that Ninetales is dealt with, let's go!" Jerry said.
"What about that Snorunt?" I asked.
Jerry signed a throw a PokéBall at Snorunt. The PokéBall wiggled and dinged signally the success of the capture. When I asked, I didn't think that he would catch Snorunt. Plus Lady Ninja did something to that Pokémon.
"Now that that is taking care of let's go!" Jerry said.
Jerry and I sprinted deeper into the cave until we came across a big opening. In the exact middle was Regice and it seemed to be motionless. Lady Ninja was setting little boxes around it and she looked smug. I was so intrigued that I didn't hear the shouting that was coming from the side. I turned around to see Kenny constricted by a Seviper and he was struggling to breath.
"You free Kenny, I'll deal with Lady Ninja!" Jerry said and sprinted to Lady Ninja and Regice.
"Chimchar use Fury Swipes!" I shouted.
Chimchar leaped towards Seviper and furiously swiped Seviper's face. Seviper hissed in pain and unwrapped itself from Kenny and slithered away. Chimchar followed fight back after it and was dodging all of Seviper's attacks.
"Kenny are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah... I'm fi... Fine," Kenny wheezed out.
"What happened?" I asked.
"She tried to get rid of me and then she went right after Regice," Kenny said.
"Jerry already went after her. You and I need to focus on knocking out Seviper," I said.
"It looks like Chimchar is doing a fine job by himself," Kenny said.
"Where is Banjee?" I asked.
Kenny panicked and then pulled out his PokéBall. He then returned Banjee who was laying on the ground unconscious behind me. I never even noticed that she unconscious and I instantly felt guilty.
"Chim!" My Chimchar screamed.
Chimchar was restricted just like Kenny was early. I pulled out Leafeon's PokéBall but Kenny pulled my hand back.
"Go Cosmic!" Kenny shouted.
From his PokéBall, a weird looking Pokémon emerged and took flight. It has two cyan eyes and a third eye on its appendages. It had two wings and a tail that was coated in red, blue, and yellow. I never seen this Pokémon so I pulled out my PokéDex.
"Sigilyph the Avianoid Pokémon. Sigilyph is said to be rumored to hold great psychic power. In ancient times, they were used to guard cities and the people in them," my PokéDex concluded.
"Cosmic use Trickroom!" Kenny shouted.
Cosmic glowed a rainbow color and the whole became disoriented. Chimchar leaped off of Seviper and launched a Fire Spin. Seviper was scorched in the flames and hissed angrily.
"Cosmic use Air Slash!"
"Chimchar use Ember!"
Cosmic flapped its mismatch wings and two swirls of energy formed and launched at Seviper. Seviper hissed and then was bombarded by huge fire balls. Seviper fainted and Kenny and I cheered in excitement.
"Now that Seviper is down, let's help Jerry," I said.
"Indeed," Kenny agreed.
Lady Ninja and Jerry seemed to be going head to head and they looked even. Lady Ninja's Shiftry was started to get tired. Bagon was looking tired but he looked as though he still had some fight left in him. Bagon launched a powerful Ice Beam and Shiftry counter with a powerful Energy Ball. It's time that we intervene.
"Chimchar use Flame Charge!" I shouted.
"Cosmic use Gravity!" Kenny said.
Cosmic was covered in a rainbow colored aura and everybody in the room started to float. Chimchar used this to cover himself in fire and dashed through the air and tackled Shiftry. Shiftry was instantly knocked out by the powerful attack and was returned to its PokéBall.
"Give up Lady Ninja!" Jerry shouted.
"Laser Cage complete. Engage transfer process," a voice said.
"Sorry brats but you are too late. Regice now belongs to Team Shadow!" Lady Ninja cackled.
"Not if I can help it," Kenny said.
Light begun to shower around Regice and it slowly begin to disappear. Kenny ran up to the fading light and pulled out a PokéBall. Kenny threw the PokéBall at Regice and it was sucked inside. It wiggled and then dinged, signaling the success of the capture.
My jaw dropped in shock as that happened. Kenny calmly walked to the PokéBall and put it on his belt. Lady Ninja snapped out her shock and begin to growl.
"You fool! What did you do?" Lady Ninja shouted.
"I honestly didn't think that would work," Kenny said awkwardly.
"Give me the PokéBall!" Lady Ninja said.
"No!" Kenny shouted back.
"You see, I'll have to do this the hard way! Ninetales get him!" Lady Ninja said.
Ninetales leaped out of nowhere and was headed towards Kenny.
"Chimchar use Acrobatic and Fury Swipes!" I said.
"Bagon help out with Dragonbreath!" Jerry said.
Chimchar was faster and he intercepted Ninetales. He pounced on its face and scratched it up pretty badly. He then hoped off of it and Ninetales was consumed by a green beam of energy.
The Gravity was still in effect so Kenny had time to move away from Lady Ninja. Suddenly Cosmic was scorched by a flamethrower and gravity returned to normal. Lady Ninja inched closer as Ninetales was charging a Solarbeam. I can see the Cosmic was knocked out and Chimchar and Bagon was barely holding on.
"Any last word?" Lady Ninja said.
"Yeah, Hydropump!"
A huge torrent of water blasted Lady Ninja and Ninetales to a wall and left them there plastered. Calvin, Samurott, Piplup and ViVi was patiently waiting by the entrance for us. We quickly moved away and ran out of the cavern.
"Wait!" Kenny shouted.
We all looked back at him looking very sheepish and guilty.
"We can't leave her in there," Kenny said.
"Yes we can," Jerry countered.
I looked back and notice that Lady Ninja and her Pokémon were gone. I gestures behind them and they all shared a look of panic when they realized that she wasn't there anymore. We all hopped on Samurott and took off in the anticipation that maybe she is somewhere safe.
The cave was refilled with Ice Pokémon again and the occasion Zubat and Golbat. There wasn't a trace of Team Shadow anywhere (if you didn't count the frozen grunts) and I could hear sirens outside.
"Look them long enough," Jerry complained.
For once, I would have to agree with him on that note. The police could've have been any slower when we were on the verge of death. I totally need a new outfit and maybe a haircut to make me feel better about this day.
Chimchar limped back to me and I had no choice but to put him back in his PokéBall. Jerry did the same with Bagon and I couldn't wait to finally get to Lapshire City. Once we sit through Calvin's contest and hit the lab, we can continue to my fifth gym badge.
We left the cavern and it was surrounded by a bunch of helicopters and police cars. Officer Jenny's scatter and collected the Team Shadow Grunts as their Growlithe's defrosted them.
I peeped up to find Lady Ninja in a leading helicopter escaping from being arrested. She shot is one last glance before she decided to fly away into the horizon. I let out a breath I was holding but I know that Team Shadow was close to being done.

ViVi was nice enough to let the four of us rude in her jeep. She said she owed us big time for saving Regice from Team Shadow. She also said that she wouldn't tell anybody about Kenny capturing Regice and that she felt safe about it.
"I'll just tell the league that Regice fled somewhere. Veronica will go with it," ViVi said.
"So what does Team Shadow want with Regice and Regirock?" I asked.
"I have no idea but I wouldn't put it past them if they tried to go after Registeel as well," ViVi replied.
"Registeel! What does Team Shadow want with Legendary Trio?" I asked.
"I have no idea but I know that it can't be good," ViVi said.
"I'll have to give Professor Rowen a call. He should know something about the Legendary Trio," Calvin concluded.
We arrived at Lapshire City by nightfall. I was so tired that I handed Nurse Joy all of my Pokémon and fell right into bed. I know that Calvin or Kenny would retrieve them for me.
Thinking about Regice made me feel a little better about Regirock. Kenny's quick thinking made them a little slow but I join that they will be prepared to strike again. And I also know that we'll be waiting right for him.
I know tomorrow I will have a long day, because tomorrow is Calvin's contest. Kill me now!
