A/N: There really are no good excuses I can give for why it's taken me so long to update this. I really lost the motivation to write this, but I found some along the way. I started writing a Arrow story and I've just been inspired by that a little bit more. I'm sorry.

So here's another chapter. This is where I've been heading the entire story. And I think I'll do an epilogue next. I've really found out that I enjoy writing series of one-shots. So if I continue my Lily and Scorpius story, maybe that's how I'll do it. Unless no one is reading this anymore. Which I completely understand.

Without further ado, the next chapter in Can't You See It.

Previously on Can't You See It: Lily ran into trouble both times she attended parties at Malfoy Manor, for Christmas and New Year's Eve. She and Lucius fought and she ran into a creepy fellow who didn't give her his name.

Lily and Scorpius lay wrapped in each other's arms, spread out across their king size bed they had asked the Room of Requirement to provide. It was around dawn on the day of the final task and Scorpius was anxious. "Can't we stay like this all day?" Hints of desperation laced his words. He didn't know why, but he had an uneasy feeling about the day.

"If you aren't present for the final task, my father will come find you and I don't think you want him to find us like this, no matter how much you think he likes you!" Lily poked him in the stomach which caused him to react by rolling over on top of her as they continued their heavy make-up session.

He stood in his Hogwarts uniform as he shivered through the rain that was falling. He stood next to his fellow competitors. Scorpius searched the stands for Lily, hoping to catch her eye and give him some reassurances, but she was nowhere in sight. However, before he could think too much about it he heard the blast sound from Hermione's wand to signal the beginning of the final task.

He was just turning the first corner when he heard the worst sound of his life. Lily's scream rang out across the grounds. Scorpius stopped in his tracks and turned in the direction he thought he heard the sound when the blood curdling scream rang out once more. He ran as fast as he thought possible, her screams ringing through the air...

Scorpius shot up straight from the bed and his chest heaved as he tried to catch his breath. 'It was just a dream. It was just a dream,' he told himself over and over again until his heart pace slowed. Once he calmed down the first thing he noticed was that Lily wasn't in the bed any longer. In her place was a piece of parchment that held Lily's writing.

Scor, I had to run down to the Main Hall. My brother let me know Aunt Hermione was looking for me. I'll see you after the next task. Good luck, but I am absolutely positive you won't need it. XOXOXOXXXXXX - (that's lots of kisses!). Yours always, Lily

Scorpius let out a long breath, sad that Lily was gone. He reluctantly made his way out of the bed to find a shower. He had to wipe away that nightmare and focus on the Triwizard task. 'Ugh,' he thought, 'this was going to be a long day.'

The Boy Who Lived stood in the center of the platform, ready to inform all spectators and participants of the rules of the upcoming challenge. "Thank you for joining us for our final Triwizard Tournament Task. Today's challenge will force the Champions to balance their greatest emotions while navigating through a maze." Harry directed his attention to the four Champions seated on the bench, "Champions, today you will be asked to face one of the darkest challenges present on the grounds of Hogwarts - the Forbidden Forest. There is something valuable to each of you hidden deep inside the forest. While you are not in immediate danger, you will be faced with crucial challenges in order to continue through the course, armed only with your wand. When I send the light into the air, you can start. Good luck. It has been a pleasure to bring the Tournament back. Thank you."

Scorpius swallowed and he was sure every fan in the stands had heard it. But there was something missing and Scorpius' stomach dropped as he was taken back to his dream because Lily was nowhere to be seen. He was freaking out, frantically searching through the crowd wishing to find her face. No luck and it seemed odd that Harry Potter was completely oblivious to his daughter's absence. Scorpius didn't have much time to think as he saw the light extend from Harry's wand and he was caught up in the challenge.

He made sure to avoid the direction he saw Kevin take into the woods, instead winding through a couple of trees. He found the spiders first. Casting the incendio charm on a large branch, Scorpius chased the spiders back toward where they came as he was able to come up to a tiny hill, hoping to catch a glimpse at what he assumed would be Lily. That was why she wasn't at the start of the challenge. Harry had said something valuable was in the forest and Scorpius had done his history, knowing Harry and Hermione had chosen to copy their tasks from the Triwizard Tournament during their fourth year and incorporate them in different ways. That thought had calmed him when the vines tried to drag him in the opposite direction. Scorpius used another fire charm then, casting the Confringo spell to blast the vines away.

As he came to the top of the hill, he spotted her. She was standing on a series of four hills all spread out in a line containing a different person. He had no idea who the other three were but they didn't matter. He wanted to get to Lily.

Scorpius sprinting to the spot. And just twenty feet away from Lily he started to call her name, causing her to turn and cast a smile. Soon though the smile faded as a pair of hands came from behind Lily and drug her down the opposite side of the hill. That's when Scorpius heard it, the same scream from his nightmare.

He dodged a spell that the culprit sent his way. When Scorpius stood up once more he cast his patronus charm, sending it to Harry urging him to send help. That Lily had been taken. Then without any more thought, Scorpius ran in the direction of Lily, hoping to find her quickly.

When Scorpius made it to the top of the hill that Lily was just standing on he found himself dodging another curse sent his way. This time he lived up to his Malfoy name and sent a jinx back in the direction the curse came, begging it to hit the enemy. A line of trees stood in Scorpius' way as he continued the search for Lily, wary of what was ahead, but not daring to give up on his quest.

He dropped to his knees when he reached the clearing, finding Lily slumped over and tied to a stump with a wand pointing at her chest in a threat. Hot anger boiled through every vein in Scorpius body as he took calculated steps toward the woman he loved.

"I should have known you were evil. I had that feeling when I first met you. I shouldn't have doubted it." Scorpius was trying to bide time. He knew his opponent was a pompous prick and he hoped that by bringing him into a battle of wits, he would delay any violence.

A maniacal laugh came back as a retort to Scorpius, "But Lily was taken with my charm. If you had stayed out of my way, it wouldn't have taken so long for my plan to be complete."

"Don't you touch her, Williams!"

Kevin turned his wand toward Scorpius. "Her. Do you know what her family has done to mine?"

That comment caught Scorpius off guard. He didn't know anything about the bastard's family and what did they have to do with the Potters? Williams was from the States.

"My family is dead because of Harry Potter!"

"What does my family have to do with this?" Lily had lifted up her head, blood trickling down her mouth. Scorpius could barely contain his rage. Williams must have punched her.

Kevin let those a maniacal laugh, "The Williams' are a very powerful dark family from America. Or rather, they were before Harry Potter destroyed the Dark One. My grandparents and parents were loyal until they were forced into exile. My grandparents couldn't make it. They died shortly after being exiled and then my father took his own life. My sister and I barely made it. We started a new life and I decided to come to Hogwarts. I had no idea I would meet Harry Potter's only daughter. That was fate." Kevin walked over to Lily, grabbing her by the collar of her shirt. "You're family destroyed mine and now I'm going to return the favor!"

Scorpius made a move toward Kevin, but he failed and he was wrapped by another set of ropes unable to break free. "Don't hurt her! If you hurt her, I promise I will kill you! Williams, look at me!" He had to buy time for the others. 'Come on, Mr. Potter.'

"Lily, how about I get rid of this loser?" Kevin released her and then set his sights on Scorpius. "I've been waiting all year to kill you, Malfoy. I should actually thank your grandfather. He's really helped me with this plan."

"I don't believe you," Scorpius spat out.

"Oh, he did. I met him at the New Year's Eve party. Lovely gentleman. He really seems to hate Lily and all the Potters. We made a great alliance."

"I would have seen you there. You're lying!"

"Oh, I was in disguise. I did get to talk to Lily for a little while," Kevin looked back over his shoulder at Lily, "You really looked gorgeous that night."

Lily coughed in disbelief, remembering the strange man she met at the party, "That was you?"

"I certainly couldn't walk into Malfoy Manor as myself. So Lucius and I devised the plan that night. He figured Harry Potter would be dumb enough to include a challenge where he would serve up his own daughter and we decided to take advantage." Raising his wand at Scorpius, Kevin began the words to Avada Kedavra. However, his wand flew out of his hand as Harry showed up and used his signature move. James followed it up by blasting Kevin back on his rear end. That move was then quickly followed by Albus throwing his body on top of Kevin and pummeling his face and body with punches.

"I knew you were a git," punch, "and unworthy," punch, "of my sister," and Albus landed yet another punch before James pulled him off and pushed Kevin onto his back and tied up his hands. He didn't need to stupify him since Albus had knocked him out.

While James and Albus took care of Kevin, Harry ran over to his daughter and untied her. "Daddy," she cried as she fell into his arms. Harry soothed her with sushes and gently stroked her hair, telling her over and over that she was safe now. She spent another couple of minutes in her father's arms before she raised her head sharply and called out Scorpius' name.

Albus was untying his friend, patting him on the back and asking if he was okay. "I'm fine. Where's Lily?"

"Scor?" And the two flung themselves into each other's arms. Lily shed more tears as she felt her boyfriend's strong hands steady around her back.

"Scorpius, it was really smart of you to send the Patronus." Harry said as the group huddled around each other. "Let's get out of here before we're hounded by people. James, will you take Williams back with us?"

As they walked back to the starting camp, Scorpius remembered something Williams had said. "Mr. Potter, is my grandfather in attendance today?"

"I believe I saw him in the stands."

"When we get back, you need to arrest him. Williams said the two of them had come up with this plan," Scorpius hung his head, "I'm sorry I wasn't able to protect Lily from my family." At his words, Lily squeezed him tighter around the waist.

"Scorpius," Lily started, "this isn't your fault. You had no idea that your grandfather was part of this. Don't blame yourself. I don't and neither does Dad."

Harry quickly agreed with his daughter, "She's right, Scorpius. You couldn't have known, but I will promise you that Lucius will spend the rest of his life in a jail cell."

Scorpius and Lily found themselves once again curled up together on the bed in the Room of Requirement. When they returned to the Tournament start, shock flooded over the crowd as they spotted a passed out Williams and then saw Harry Potter arrested Lucius Malfoy. His parents apologized to the Potters profusely. Then once everyone's parents were completely assured of everyone's well being, they allowed Scorpius and Lily to escape from the crowd.

"You know, I had a nightmare when you left this room this morning. It actually played out today. I don't know what I would have done had he hurt you, Lily," Scorpius placed a feather soft kiss to her forehead.

"Well, you won't find out right now. We're safe and that's all we should focus on right now." Lily rolled on top of Scorpius and captured his lips. "Or we could block out the horrendous events of the day and have a bloody amazing snogging session?" She never got a verbal answer from Scorpius, instead he switch positions and answered her question by devouring her mouth.
