OMG, really I can't believe the amazing feedback I'm getting for this story! Thank you so much everybody! Hope I don't disappoint with this and the future chapters!

[Big Hero 6 was made up by his closest friends? And his healthcare bot (that was supposed to be soft and white and huggable, not decked out in a fancy red armor with wings)? And they were all being led by HIS LITTLE BROTHER?]

When he woke up, Tadashi once again had a moment of brief panic before everything he had learned a few hours ago came rushing back to him. He tried to deny as best he could, it had to have been a dream right? There was no way his friends and robot and little brother would form a superhero team? But once again the TV seemed to enlighten him, as the live report of the "miraculous rescue at the bank thanks to the powers of Big Hero 6" continued, although the hype surrounding the team had wound down slightly and the focus was leaning more toward the actual robbery itself.

Almost reaching over to call the nurse again, Tadashi made himself pause for while. What exactly was he going to do, what was going to happen to him? Yes, he seemed to have retained pretty much all of his memory up till the explosion, but the what happened since then till now, however long it had been, was a blank mystery to him.

Wait how long have I even been here, and why does it seems that nobody has come to see me?

Rationally speaking, Tadashi knew that, if there was the slightest sense of normalcy still left at home, Aunt Cass wouldn't be able to sit by his side the whole time. But still, there didn't seem to be the smallest indication that anyone had come to visit him the whole- well, however long it had been.

Turning to his left, a habit he had always had when he wanted to think things over, he glanced upon his patient's report the doctor had placed on his bed side drawer. Tadashi wasn't a biology or medical student by any means, but the months he had spent working on and programming Baymax had educated him on a lot of medical terms and procedures. And he knew what "Glasgow Scale Level 4 (as of 2/3/15)" meant.

I was in a coma? And for... 8 months?

WHAT?

Tadashi knew that that was it, whatever had happened to him, he needed to know everything, and the best people he had to help him here were the nurses and docto-

"Hey wait no you cannot go in there! Hey! EXCUSE ME SIR NO VISITORS ALLOWED! GET OUT!"

What's happening?

"I am Tadashi's personal healthcare companion, I need to be with him now."

No. No way.

"I don't care what you are, but STOP WALKING AND TURN BACK! HEY!"

'I am Tadashi's personal healthcare companion. Taking care of him is my primary directive at this moment."

...

"Please let go of me. My programming prevents me from harming a human being."

Oh no.

"Look Mister, Baymax is literally designed to help people better than you ever can, so just let my robot go and let me see my brother. "

Hiro.

A chorus of "Yeah!" and one "Yeah dude!"

A mass of footsteps running down the hall.

The door of his room opened to reveal four young adults, a smaller teenage boy and a white, poofy robot.

"Da... Dashi?"

-Meanwhile-

Baymax knew that the flight to where Tadashi was had to be the smoothest and gentlest he had ever given the team. Even on normal, happy days Baymax was concerned about the other four members of the team who weren't electromagnetically clicked onto his armour, and the robot didn't even need to do an official scan to know that nobody was able to fully focus on holding on today

The healthcare bot continued scanning the city below him, narrowing down on the location of Tadashi's signature, and eventually landed in front of a massive white building with a buzz of several ambulances and emergency personnel moving around the carpark.

"San An General?" Baymax heard his young owner ask, "Baymax, what's going on?"

"I have detected Tadashi's signature over there," he pointed over at the eastern wing of the hospital building. "His heart rate has just elevated slightly. This means that he has just woken up from a deep sleep."

Hiro, and the rest of the team for that matter, still was not able to fully and logically process the full gravity of the situation, but commanded Baymax to take them inside. He had to find his brother- or whatever else Baymax was sensing.

Could Tadashi actually be alive? To be fair there was no body recovered, but does anyone really expect to find a body after such a massive explosion?

That's what we assumed about Callaghan too, and see how well that went.

But Tadashi didn't plan it, didn't spend that whole night since Hiro's presentation plotting how to steal his microbots and terrorize the entire city, Tadashi didn't come back.

"Oh crap," Go Go's anger-laced remark snapped Hiro out of his thoughts. He looked up to see a swarm of people running toward them, wanting photographs, autographs, to hug Baymax, to hug him. Baymax, who normally loved the attention and making people happy, today sensed the anger and frustration of his team and quickly scooped them up, flying to the back of the hospital and away from the prying eyes.

"I think it is best if we leave our armor behind when we see Tadashi. This way we will not draw attention to ourselves that would deviate us from our mission, and we would not look so imposing and scare Tadashi, since he does not know what we have been doing these past few months."

"Yeah, good idea Baymax. the last thing we want to do is to freak Ta- him out," Honey couldn't bring herself to say his name. Not just yet, when nothing was confirmed. Not when it could still be a major error reading of Baymax or... whatever else it could be.

"After all, Tadashi designed me to be a-"

"Non-threatening, huggable sort of thing, and this armor will undermine that design. We know Baymax, just take us to him already." Hiro ripped off his and Baymax's armor as the team followed suit. He didn't want to raise his hopes any more than they already were (could hopes be raised any higher than this anyway?) but whatever this turned out to be, he wanted to get to the bottom of it as soon as humanely (and robotically) possible.

"Hiro," Honey's arm on his shoulder stopped him from barging in through the double doors. "Are you sure about this? What if..."

"What if Baymax is right-"

"I am right. I am a non-malfunctioning robot."

"-what if Tadashi really is in there?"

"Tadashi is-"

"SHUT UP BAYMAX!"

The robot finally understood that it was time to stop pressing his point, and to actually take the team to Tadashi's side. He waddled in through the doors, hurrying up as much as he could despite being very slow without his armour suit. The robot led the team up the lift to the 5th floor, pausing to try and watch a Vitreo-retinal eye surgery robot in action but was dragged off by Wasabi before he could say hello to his fellow healthcare-robot friend.

"This way," the robot hummed happily as he realised he was just mere meters away from Tadashi.

Hiro took a deep breath before the crossed into the ICU section when-

"Hey! You cannot go in there! Hey! EXCUSE ME SIR NO VISITORS ALLOWED! GET OUT!"

Of course they had to be stopped by a doctor. Why they ever think that the hospital would just let people casually walk into the ICU. But even then, the hospital had only ever made plans to stop people.

"I am Tadashi's personal healthcare companion, I need to be with him now." Baymax lumbered along down the hall, ignoring the doctor running behind him.

"I don't care what you are, but STOP WALKING AND TURN BACK! HEY!"

'I am Tadashi's personal healthcare companion. Taking care of him is my primary directive at this moment."

"What?" The doctor was confused for a moment, but recovered enough to try and drag the... thing walking down his hall away from the patients' rooms.

"Please let go of me. My programming prevents me from harming a human being."

Hiro knew he had to step in, "Look Mister, Baymax is literally designed to help people better than you ever can, so just let my robot go and let me see my brother. "

The team backed him up with a chorus of "Yeah!" and Fred's "Yeah dude!" before they pushed the doctor to a side and run after Baymax, who had stopped outside one of the doors, and blinked down at the team.

"Hiro..." The boy didn't bother to register which one of his friends was talking as he pushed past them and and Baymax to open the door, and that was when he finally realized beyond any and all doubt that Baymax wasn't malfunctioning, that the robot had been right all along.

Sure enough, there on the lone bed in the room, with wires and tubes running across his body and face and his eyes blinking rapidly as he took in the sight before him was-

"Da... Dashi?"

Next Chapter:

"Tadashi... how?"

"Tadashi is here. Hello Tadashi."

"Hiro," Tadashi pulled himself away from his younger brother's hug. "I... you- all of you", he turned to the whole group as he pointed to the TV which was still showing the aftermath of the bank robbery, "better explain what the HELL is going on,"

"Uh-oh."

"Hiro, I TOLD you you will be in huge trouble if I have to go see you in the hospital young man... what" Her freshly brewed pot of coffee clattered to the ground, but none of that mattered anymore.
