A/N: I know it's short...and late, but nonetheless here it is. Please review because that ish keeps me going.
The next morning was much more peaceful than the last one, no fires or confessions of love, and Merlin was very happy with the moment of peace. He just sat in the tent for a few minutes listening to the birds and bugs of the forest. Once he felt he had wasted enough time he got up and out of his tent and stretched.
'Good morning Merlin.'
Merlin looked over and saw Lancelot sitting by the river.
'What are you doing?' Merlin asked he walked over and sat next to the knight.
'Just thinking about Gwen, and what I should tell her when return in two days.' Lance sighed.
Merlin felt so incredibly guilty; Lancelot was a married man, he was married to Guinevere. She was Merlin's friend, and he didn't want to hurt her in anyway. But he couldn't deny he had feelings for Lancelot, he couldn't tell what kind of feelings they were, but they were feelings.
'I'm sorry Lance; I wish I could just give you an answer so you could make a choice, but I can't.' Merlin apologized, looking out at the river.
'No need to apologize Merlin, you did nothing wrong. This was going to happen sooner or later, if anything I should apologize to you. I know how you feel about Arthur, everyone but him knows, but I still kissed you. For that I am sorry.' Lancelot said sincerely.
'I'll accept yours if you accept mine.' Merlin smiled.
'Deal.' Lance laughed.
They both looked at the river for a second before Merlin broke the silence.
'What are you going to tell Gwen?' he asked carefully.
'I don't know yet, but I know I can't keep this from her. It would be dishonorable to lie to her and have her believe she is the love of my life, when she is not. If she wishes to leave me then so be it.' Lancelot decided.
'Will you tell her about me?' Merlin asked.
'If she asks, I will not lie to her Merlin.'
'I understand.'
Again the two settled into silence.
Who could have guessed that we'd be like this? It seems like only yesterday he had saved me from the griffin. Merlin thought to himself.
'You know when we first met I already knew I found you attractive, I was scared out of my wits when the griffin attacked you. Then I thought; I can't let this beautiful man die before I know his name. Next thing I know we were sharing a bed.' The knight recalled.
'We only slept.' Merlin mumbled, blushing at how it Lancelot made it sound.
'True, but I wouldn't have minded if we done a bit more.' Lance said seductively as he moved closer to Merlin.
Merlin felt the sudden change in mood and his cheeks reddened.
'We were just talking about your wife.' Merlin reminded.
'I know, and now we are talking about you.' Lancelot whispered into his ear.
'You remember how all this started; with me whispering into your ear, making you moan.' Lance whispered huskily into Merlin's ear.
'I-I didn't moan.' Merlin stuttered.
'You did, and it was music to my ears.' Lancelot smiled.
'Does music normally make laugh?' Merlin asked, suddenly a bit angry, remembering how embarrassed he was when the knight laughed at him.
Lance leaned back a bit and sighed.
'I honestly don't know why I laughed. I think it was how angry Arthur was, or how badly he hid his anger. Maybe it was my body's way of ignoring my arousal at the sound. Either way, I'm sorry for making you cry.' Lancelot apologized.
'It's alright, I forgive you.' Merlin said.
Just then Arthur came out of his tent and saw the two of them.
'Am I interrupting something?' he asked as he crossed his arms over his chest.
'Yes.' Lancelot said in annoyance.
'No.' Merlin said in amusement.
'Lancelot, grab your bow.' Arthur said as he picked up his own.
'Yes Sire.' Lance groaned as he stood up and followed his instructions.
'Try to catch a deer!' Merlin yelled as they left into the wood.
'Just because I'm courting you doesn't mean I will spoil you Merlin!' Arthur yelled back.
