Chapter 2

The Contract

"Well, Well, what a strange power you have." The creature with vivid red eyes hopped down from the window sill and started walking to Kokoro. "Why you'd make the most powerful Magical Girl in existence. Even stronger than that Madoka Kaname. I can make you a Magical Girl. All you have to do is make a wish. Any wish really. Anything your heart desires. So what do you say? Do you want to make a contract with me?" Kokoro looked up and at the Incubator with wide eyes. "A Magical Girl?" She asked wanting to know if he was serious.

"Why of course. You would save those in this realm from witches in exchange for one wish. No matter how big it is, with the size of your potential it's bound to come true." Kyubey said his face unchanging as his tail swished back and forth. Kokoro looked like she was actually considering the offer. "Well...what if I save people from the witches...but I want to hurt them myself?" Mika's eyes widened. "Koko-Chan how could you say that?!"

Kyubey turned his head and sat down. "Hurting them yourself? Well that would certainly be new and unheard of. But like I said with your potential anything is possible." Kokoro let herself relax and come out of her hunched position on the floor. "So no matter what, my wish will come true? All I have to do is fight the witches?" Kyubey nodded. "Of course. Now do you wish to make a contra-" But before the sentence could even be finished Mika crept up behind him and smashed his head as hard as she could with a small statue, sending him flying. A sickening crack came from his neck as he hit the wall.

Kokoro's eyes widened and she looked at Mika. "Why did you do that?! That was my chance!" Mika looked at her stunned. "Are you freaking serious?! You know what that thing is! You know what will happen!" She yelled back as Kokoro got up from the floor. "I know but I don't care! It's my choice and my life!" She said looking to the "body" of Kyubey. "That was my only opportunity."

Just then a small movement came from the creature as he stood up. His neck was twisted at a horrible angle that looked painful. He turned his head and looked at Mika. "My, my...you're just as bad as that Homura Akemi." He said and sighed as he turned his head cracking it back into place to the horror of both the girls as the Incubator sat back down like nothing had even happened.

Mika's eyes widened and she started stuttering not making any sense. Kokoro shook her head and sighed softly. "That's right, he can't die remember Mika?" She said before looking at Kyubey. "Are you still willing to make a contract with me?" Kyubey nodded. "Why of course. All you have to do is make a wish." Kokoro stood up and nodded. "Then I wish to have the power to hurt those who have wronged me with my own bare hands!"

Mika's eyes widened. "Kokoro!" She yelled trying desperately to stop her friend before it was too late. But unfortunately before she could reach her, Kyubey had already inserted his ear flaps into her chest. Kokoro gasped and started falling backwards. He pulled the Soul Gem out of her chest. "Now go on. Accept it. Accept your destiny." Kokoro grabbed the dark blue gem in her hands before falling on the floor.

Kyubey swished his tail back and forth watching her. "I'm sure the other Magical Girls felt that. Surely one will be over to either fight you or to show you the ropes." He said and stood up. Mika went rushing over to her friend to help her sit up. "Why did you do that?!" She said hugging her friend tightly.

She smirked and looked at Mika. "Don't you see? I now have everything I ever wanted." She said as a dark twisted grin took over her face.

~Time skip 7:30 a.m. the next morning~

Mika banged on Kokoro's front door. "Koko-chan come on! We're going to be late!" She called out sighing softly. Kokoro came to the door, the skirt of her normal uniform replaced with jeans and the tie was missing. "Come on Kyubey!" She said as the cat like thing jumped on her shoulder.

Kyubey watched the two girls. "So you two really have to do this whole school thing?" Mika glared at him. "Yes, and Koko-chan you're going to get in trouble for wearing that." She said looking at Kokoro. "I don't care. Why should I change twice a day just to please people for a few hours while I'm at school?" Mika shook her head. "Fine...but why does that thing have to come with us?" Mika said glaring at Kyubey.

Kokoro rolled her eyes. "Because I think that it's fine okay?" She said and grabbed her bag walking outside. Mika shook her head and followed behind her. "Why is this happening?" She thought as she walked behind Kokoro. Kyubey turned back and looked at her. "You know it was her choice after all." He projected into her head. Mika froze and her eyes widened. "Why are you in my head you alien freak?!" She thought freaking out. "I have a telepathic link to any magical girl or potential magical girl recruits."

Mika frowned slightly before she realized what the alien like creature had said. "Wait...what?! Then you shouldn't have it with me!" She thought biting her lip. Kyubey shook his head. "On the contrary. In fact you have great potential as well. Not as big as Kokoro Kurosawa but still it's potential none the less." He said repositioning himself on Kokoro's shoulder, the poor girl being none the wiser of the two's mental conversation.

Mika glared at him. "Go get shot you freak!" She snapped at him in her own way of refusing the contract. Kyubey shook his head. "Honestly one day you're going to rethink that decision." He replied as Kokoro walked through the school gates.

The pair of girls walked across the courtyard, unknown to them though, a certain boy with dark brown hair had sensed the power coming from their direction. When he looked up he saw Kyubey on the red headed girl's shoulder and felt the power that came from her. He tilted his head slightly in thought as he started twirling he ring on the middle finger of his left hand.

Wide eyes followed Kokoro as she strutted into the school. After all her attire was against the school rules and could get her sent home, if not suspended. Kokoro smirked knowing that all eyes were on her and this honestly was changing her attitude. In fact all was going well...until, "Kurosawa! Why are you not in your proper uniform?!" The student council president yelled at her walking towards her and Mika.

Kokoro rolled her eyes and looked at her. "Because I don't give a damn Yaya Uotani!" She snapped at the blonde upperclassman. After all she was 17 years old and still wore her hair in pigtails with pink baubles for crying out loud. Yaya frowned very slightly and glared at her. "You'll have to come with me to the Headmaster's office." She said and looked over at Mika. "By the way Matsukaze, Tatsuya-kun sends his love." She said and giggled walking off dragging Kokoro by the wrist. Mika frowned as she followed the other two girls, fighting the tears that sprang to her eyes.

They followed her until they reached the doors. "Stay here and don't even think about taking off Kurosawa." Yaya said and went into the Headmaster's office to tell him what was going on before she sent the girls in. After a long and heated debate, Kokoro was forced to be sent home and he made sure that Mika was the one to escort her home. She looked over at her friend and smirked. "Well that gives me even more time than I thought. I'm going to go looking for witches. Are you going to come or not?"

Mika frowned and looked at her. "But Koko-chan...I have to go back to school…" Kokoro rolled her eyes. "Fine whatever. Go be a goody two shoes and run back to school like the innocent little school girl you are, and stop calling me Koko-chan!" She growled before storming off, Kyubey following close behind her, leaving Mika all alone on the street to think about what her friend had just said.
