I know I don't really make an Author's Note at the beginning, but I have a very important announcement. I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all of you. You guys make me smile and happy especially when my life is less than happy. I have to language classes along with Biology and Journalism 1, Aka Lots of Writing. But, you know what? That's okay. I have worse things to worry about. My family isn't the most supportive when it comes to my FanFics and constantly reminds me that "it's a waste of my time". Even if I can't make money off of writing Fan Fiction, I won't stop because it brings out smiles in people. And I was asked the question "Would you rather write a horrible book and be famous, or write a great book and never be able to take credit for it?" My 9th grade English Teacher asked me that. I responded with the latter, reasoning that I would rather sit back knowing I did something great. I don't feel the need to make my mark on the world, when I can just sit back and smile about all the good i cause by little random acts of kindness. So I once again Thank you for your support. It means the world to me. So here, a new chapter for you guys. I tried to make it kind of long. -SFL

Normal POV

The mages departed from the airship, Lucy and Laxus taking the lead after Doranbolt and Lahar. They were holding hands tightly, scared to be separated. Sting and Rogue smiled at their "parents'" actions towards one another. Evergreen was still glaring at Lucy, though Freed and Bixlow were trying to get her to back off before something happened to her. Freed was holding the wrist of his female comrade, making sure she would not start a fight. Gray was holding Wendy's hand, who was squeezing the life out of Gray's. Erza marched forward with Gildarts, while Romeo tried to comfort Wendy. Natsu glared at Gajeel, who was trying to ignore the Salamander.

Once they arrived at the military station near the castle, Doranbolt led the men to their quarters for the night, whereas Lahar led the women to theirs. Laxus and Lucy shared a smile and a quick kiss before separating for the night.

Lucy looked up at the stars that were beginning to make their appearance and smiled softly. Remembering the times, Lucy and her mother used to burn the midnight oil looking at the stars. Lucy sighed happily as she turned her attention back to the group following Lahar.

"Captain, how are we going to be separated into units?" Lucy asked as they turned down a side street, leading us to a grey building with rose bushes out front.

"By your compatibility and magic power." Lahar said simply. "Based on that, you'll most likely be put into the same unit as Dreyar, Eucliffe, and Cheney. Scarlet will most likely, be paired with Dragneel, Lockser and Fullbuster. Marvell will be paired with Justine, Bixlow, and Evergreen. Lohr will be paired with Clive and Nanagear. Conbolt will be with Dragneel most likely. These are not facts, just mere predictions."

"What about Gajeel and Jura?" Erza asked. "And the other wizards who have been drafted?"

"Jura was not the only one from Lamia Scale." Lahar opened the doors to the grey building and led them inside. "Bastia was drafted as well."

Lucy nodded in understanding and smiled. "Gray will like to know that Lyon is going to be here as well."

Lahar stopped in front of a door marked 105. "Lucy, this will be your room. It's your own but you do share a bathroom with room 106, which is Scarlet's and Lockser's room. 107 is Evergreen's and Marvell's room."

The Sky Dragon looked up at Lucy. Lucy wore a blank face as she approached the door to her room. As she placed a hand on the door knob, Lahar dismissed himself.

Lucy put her hand on the Key of Leo and muttered the incantation that summons him. "Loke," She breathed. "Go to Laxus and give him this message. Though we come from different guilds, different races, use different magics, and have different backgrounds, we must fight together, as one, as countrymen, as brothers and sisters. We must fight to protect those we love. We. Shall. Prevail. Go now, Loke. Before they go to sleep. Tell Laxus to give that to them all."

Loke bowed and kissed her hand. "Of course, Princess." With that he shimmered into the air, leaving the five girls alone.

"Thank you, Loke." Lucy smiled at her hand that laid on the door knob. "That goes for you four as well. We shall prevail." Lucy turned the knob and opened the door.

"That's so beautiful, Lucy." Erza complimented.

"We will prevail, Love Rival!" Juvia smiled and pumped her fist into the air.

"Get some sleep. You'll need it." Lucy walked into her room, closing and locking the door behind her. Summoning Virgo for a new set of clothing, Lucy walked into the bathroom and took a shower before changing and going to sleep in the military grade beds.

As Doranbolt left after assigning the men their rooms, Loke appeared, catching most of the men off guard. He handed Laxus a piece of paper where he wrote down Lucy's speech. He bowed respectfully before disappearing back into the Spirit World.

Laxus looked at the words written on the paper. "Guys. Wait a minute. It's from Lucy." Laxus cleared his throat. "Though we come from different guilds, different races, use different magics, and have different backgrounds, we must fight together, as one, as countrymen, as brothers and sisters. We must fight to protect those we love. We. Shall. Prevail."

Gajeel smirked before looking away from Laxus, his mind occupied with his little shrimp. Gray was thinking of a certain water woman as Natsu's mind was filled with images of Lisanna. Jura and Lyon were smiling at each other, both thinking of their friends and guild mates. Sting was thinking of Lucy and Minerva, while Rogue was thinking of Lucy and Yukino. Rufus thought of his guild, Fairy Tail, and Lucy most of all. Orga scoffed and entered his assigned room, which he shared with Rufus, as his thoughts were over taken by the man he had declared his rival, Laxus. Freed blushed as Mira crashed her way into his thoughts, as well. Bixlow had Fairy Tail's resident drunk on his mind.

Laxus smiled at the paper. His girlfriend was amazing in his eyes. She would not cease to surprise him. That was one of the reasons he had fallen for her. Though it was one of the smaller reasons it was still a reason. He smiled at thought of her disagreeing with what he was thinking. He knew she didn't take compliments well, especially from him. She would blush and look away and refuse to say anything.

"Well, she's right. We will prevail." He held up his hand, index finger pointing skyward and his thumb out to the side slightly. In other words, his symbol. The one he had created so long ago as a child. The one Lucy sent him off with when he was excommunicated. That symbol meant more to him now than it did then. He had only on regret and that was Fantasia. If he hadn't lashed out at the guild, he could have proved to her that he was worthy of her much sooner. In the end he was happy with his life. He won't die on her. He must live on with and for her, just like she is for him.

He stepped into his room, one that he did not have to share luckily. He walked into the bathroom, shedding his clothing on his way. He turned on the shower and made sure the water was scalding hot before stepping in and cleaning up and washing his hair. He stepped out, a towel draped around his hips. He noticed folded clothing on the counter with a note on top. He picked it up, trying to avoid dripping more water onto it.

Laxus, it read, I asked Virgo to bring you some clothes for tonight and tomorrow. I asked Virgo to only bring you a shirt for tomorrow, knowing you don't like to sleep in one anyway. Be prepared for tomorrow. Lahar told me we will be divided into units based on out compatibility with one another and our magic power. Get a good night's sleep. I'll be dreaming about you. Though this room is really cold. I should turn up the heater or call Fornax. He's my furnace spirit. I know it's a little strange but he came in handy while you were gone. I miss you so much and I wish I was over there with you, Laxus. But, it's just one more night right. We just have to show how well we preform together, ne? Love, Lucy. P.S. I love you, La-chan!

Laxus smirked as a chuckle erupted from his throat. He quickly changed into a pair of boxers and black shorts and moved the rest of the clothes into his room. He set them down on the bedside table and tucked the note under his pillow. He laid down on the bed, not bothering with the blankets. "I love you, too, Lucy. You take such good care of an idiot like me. I don't know where I'd be without you." Laxus mumbled before sleep took him to a land full of dreams of Lucy.
