Normal POV
Jackal's remains exploded after the mages retreated a safe distance. Laxus was looking at Lucy with happiness in his eyes. Sting and Rufus were smiling at her. Lucy, however, was consoling a shaken Rogue. Rogue being the softest out of the three boys Lucy raised in Laxus's absence, Lucy was partial to taking Rogue's feelings to heart when he was upset more than she would Sting or Rufus. Lucy hugged her quiet son closely as Laxus smiled fondly at them.
That's when Freed decided to speak up.
"This has been bothering me for awhile now… but way back when Mira and Cana were judges for a competition for Akane Resort about eight years ago, Mira said she knew there was a Sting Eucliffe on the judges' panel with her. Isn't that you kid?"
Sting looked almost as nervous as Lucy did. Lucy approached Freed with an embarrassed expression in her eyes. "Well, you see about that, Freed. It was about a year ago when I left my keys on the table and being the curious boy he still his, he picked them up and accidentally summoned Horologium who accidentally dropped him in the time period of the competition in Akane… So I accidentally beat the crap out of him when I realized I thought my own son was interested in me and so I accidentally beat him up twice, but I promise it was only out instinct!" Lucy waved her hands in front of her. "What I thought was jealousy was actually loathing for Laxus because Sting believed Laxus had abandoned us."
Laxus let out a howl of laughter. "To think it was because of him, you lost to me for that."
"I only gave you that score, old man, because I was raised to give credit where it's due." Sting scoffed. "So, stop with the gloating. I would have picked Ok āsan over you any day."
Laxus laughed. "Yeah, right? Admit it, you were impressed. You didn't know I could sing like that, did you?"
"Oh, just shut up. You-"
"Enough!" We have more important things to worry about, like, oh, I don't know, the war with Zeref!" Lucy snapped. "I'm taking command. This isn't something the Magic Council can handle anymore. If anyone has any problems with that, go on and report it to the Council. The rest are welcome to stay. Now onto the more pressing matters. Zeref knows we're here. Meaning we need to clear out, now. So pack enough food rations to last you a month and a pair of clothes. Keep all you're packs light. We're going to rendezvous with Natsu and the others. Once we meet up with them, we'll move to the north. Zeref will most likely be hiding in the mountains up there."
"Excuse me asking, Lucy, but how do you know that?" Evergreen asked snottily.
Lucy snorted. "Isn't that obvious? Jackal came from the south. You always circle around the enemy and strike at their backs." She scanned the mages and soldiers before her. "Make it quick! We move out in half an hour."
Once all the people were gathered back at the station, Lucy called for their attention. "Minna, I have five keys in my possession. Keys that will not be taken to easily. I'm a celestial spirit mage, as you all know. But if a celestial spirit mage gets to a holy creature moments before it dies, it can make a contract with the Spirit King and the celestial spirit mage. Using Horologium, I went back in time to the hour before July 7th X777 and made a contract with every dragon I knew of. Igneel. Metalicana. Grandeeney. Skiadrum. Weisslogia. Acnologia. Atlas Flame. All of them have made a contract with me and the Spirit King."
It's been awhile, hasn't it? Well sorry about that. I'm stressing out about my Journalism class because my teacher lacks the ability to clarify what she wants. (I'm failing that class because I can't write the way she wants me to write. I'm an introvert, I don't talk to a lot of people so bite me when I don't get my interveiws done on time. )
Anyway, thanks for the support we're almost at the 200 review mark! What shout we do to celebrate let me know!
