Lucy POV

I sat down next to Laxus in the dining car, giving him a small smile as Wendy took her seat next to me.

"Lucy-san?"

I looked down at the little dragon slayer. "Yeah?"

"Can I call you my big sister?" She asked, looking down at her hands.

My face softened and a smile graced my lips. "Of course, Imoto."

She grew a great grin and hugged me. "Thank you, Onee-chan!" She looked at the plates of food on the table with wide eyes as she let go of me. "Wow, I didn't think Mira and Lisanna could whip up this much food in a few hours."

"Call it the Strauss Family secret." Mira said as she took the seat across from Wendy. Mira turned to me as Lisanna and Natsu took seats next to her. "How's it going, Lucy? It's been awhile since we had the chance to talk. I've missed you."

I felt a lump in my throat form at her words. "I've missed you, too, Mira. I wish we'd have more time to talk." I said honestly.

"Yeah, things are about to get more heated with us fighting against Zeref and his demons." She said sadly. "But, I know we'll make it out okay. All of us. Call it, a demon's intuition."

Laxus nodded. "Yeah, I think so, too." His face gave off an understanding look, but his eyes gave him away. He knew something he was not going to share, but it's not like I have room to talk.

"Onee-chan, are you going to eat?" Wendy asked, eyes full of innocence and curiosity.

"Yeah, but first things first. Mira, do you think you can whip me up one of your famous strawberry smoothies for me?"

"I knew you'd ask," She gestured for Lisanna to pass down the pitcher full of the delicious slush. Mira poured me a glass and gave me a smile.

I felt my throat clamp up again. Swallowing hard, I returned her smile. "Thanks, Mira. You know me so well." Through the rest of dinner, I remained quiet, watching and memorizing all of their movements, their sounds and voices, their faces, all of them. I helped Mira and Lisanna clean up after dinner then made my rounds, telling everyone good night, rather than goodbye. By morning, they would know I would be gone. For now, I wanted them to remain in blissful innocence. Once I ended up at my last stop, I gave out a near silent sob. Collecting myself after a moment, I entered the compartment, already finding Rogue and Sting asleep.

I gently kissed their cheeks. "Good night, boys. I love you so very much." I whispered as a pair of arms encircled my waist.

"Hey, Lucy." Laxus whispered in my ear as he pulled me down onto the cot hanging from the wall.

"Hey, Laxus."

"I love you, Lucy."

I gave him a smile. "I know. I love you, too."

He hugged me tighter. "Lucy, let's get married once this is all over."

"Okay." I said without hesitation. We laid there for a minute before I tapped him. "Laxus let me up, I haven't showered yet."

He sighed. "I could join you." His comment earned him a whack in the arm. "Sorry." He mumbled as he let me up.

"Good night, Laxus. I love you." I said once I was at the door.

"Night, Lucy. Love you, too." He smiled as he laid his head on the pillow. I walked out to back of the train, where I had my conversation with Zeref hours ago.

Come.

The command was quiet, as though it was on the wind's breath. I smirked, feeling the light drain from my being. "Gladly, Master Zeref." I jumped off the train and braced myself for the impact that was waiting for me, but it never came. Instead I was caught.

"Glad to see you finally came to your senses, little sister." Jackal smirked as he sat me down and watched as the train kept chugging on.

"You're telling me, big brother." I smirked. We ran along the tracks until we came to town in the morning.

"Having trouble keeping up, little sister?" He said as he took a lock of my now black hair. "I love how your magic takes control of your body, changing you into a beast. It's brilliant."

I let out a sadistic laugh. "Yeah, yeah. Tell me, what is my eye color right now?"

"One's vibrant blue and the other is a golden brown." He answered.

"Damn. So my magic is still taking over. I want all traces of the light gone." I scowled.

"In due time, little sister. For now, Master Zeref awaits. Come on."

"Okay!" I chirped, following my big brother out of town. The jingling of my other magic kept insisting they be heard, but I kept ignoring them. Finally, I had enough, and threw one of them to the ground.

"Lucy?" Jackal asked turning around to see me glaring at the key ring.

"As much as I hate them, I can't seem to let them go." I whispered softly. I bent down to pick them up, but Jackal beat me to it.

"These could prove to be useful," He said with a smirk. "Leave them here. They'll follow you to Master Zeref and we'll destroy them once and for all." He said, dropping my keys and taking my hand to drag me further away from them.

I saw my precious sons run up to where my keys had fallen and turned to the people nearby asking if they saw who dropped the keys. They all pointed in our direction. They ran past us, but I couldn't call out, it was like I was unable to.

I felt Jackal tug me further away from where I say the others approaching with Laxus at the lead. I reached out for him, not knowing if he saw of not, but I saw Mavis look at me with pitied eyes.

How foolish, my child. Letting that magic control you and own you like you have no say.

I heard her voice louder and clearer than Zeref's voice had ever been. I balled my hand into a fist and slammed it into the ground, creating a force that resembled a earthquake.

"This is my magic. It will not control me. It will not define me. I will define it!" I roared at the baby blue skies. They were quickly blocked away by my older brother's face. I heard him yelling, but I couldn't hear what. I didn't care.

Acnologia taught me that apocalypse dragon slayer magic was beautiful; that it didn't just destroy, but offered new beginnings as well. My magic was not evil. It was not dangerous. It was beautiful. It was wondrous. It was controlled.

I managed to stay on my feet and face Jackal. "Tell Zeref, that he can go suck it for all I care. I'm a fairy and I walk in the light!" I pulled back to swing. "Apocalypse Dragon Secret Art: New Beginnings!"

So, what do you think? Are you on the edge of your seat?
