Normal POV
Laxus continued to pound against Levy's and Freed's runes, trying desperately to reach his world, his Lucy. He snarled at the guild members staring at him like a circus freak; the very stares that pissed him off as a kid after his father marked his face. "How the hell could you all just leave her behind?!"
Natsu stepped into the runes and slammed his fist into Laxus's face, leaving a very stunned guild. "We did as she said, because aside from Jackal, she's the only one that knows what the hell is going on. We followed orders, but that doesn't me we liked it or wanted to leave her behind! Get that through your damn head, Laxus. We just have to wait, until she contacts us again and play the defensive."
"Yeah, Laxus. We already have Lamia Scale and Blue Pegasus on our side. There's hope." Gray said, trying to lighten the mood a bit.
"But everything's hopeless. Lucy herself probably knows that." Master Makarov said gravely, as his face darkened.
"Lucy will be fine." Mavis said speaking up. "She is my own flesh and blood. She'll survive and you all bear the mark of Fairy Tail. You all are my family, and if my husband had anything to say about family was that it is not weak and it does not fail." Mavis said sternly, decided to cut out the parts about how the weak and the failures were disowned and abandoned.
Just then, the doors parted to show the bloody face of Jackal. He hobbled over to the First Master of Fairy Tail. "I'm sorry Grandmother… I failed to protect… my only family… I have left…" He managed to huff out in short breaths before passing out.
Laxus let out a roar and collapsed onto the one chair he was allowed to have in his rune cage. Concentrating hard on the barrier, he began to rewrite the runes to free him enough to escape. Once he finished, he looked up to find the first master staring at him as Gray and Natsu carried Jackal upstairs into the infirmary.
Go, my child, and save her. We will not be far behind. Just… Be careful. Mavis said telepathically.
Laxus nodded and zapped his way out of there and in the direction of the town he had last seen his beautiful Lucy last. It took an hour and a quarter of his magic to carry him over to the little mountain town. He took a deep breath, listening to his surroundings. He was lucky there happened to be a thunderstorm going on when he landed, hiding his magic amongst the storm. He ran through the streets as soon as he cleared the area as clear. He charged though the doors of the old castle that sat atop a cliff, looming over the town. He had a gut feeling that Zeref, despite being evil, was very traditional. He was waiting for the good guys to scramble themselves together and attack when he would take them out in one fell swoop.
Laxus scowled as he tried to sense Lucy's overwhelming and familiar magic aura, yet he could never find it. He grew worried, well more than he thought he was before. He was deeply afraid. More than he was when his father shoved the lacrima into his eye. More afraid then he was when he saw Acnologia. More than he was when he thought he would never see Lucy again on Tenroujima.
He took a deep breath and pushed open the main doors as the plan formulated in his head. He was going to surrender and find Lucy and bust out of this joint. He made eye contact with the very man himself he loathed for taking the one person that meant the world to him.
"Ah, it's a puny dragon slayer coming to wreak havoc in my home." Zeref said in a amused voice.
Laxus let out a hearty and convincing dark laugh. "As if, Boss."
Zeref raised an eyebrow at him. "Boss?"
It was Laxus's turn to pretend to be confused. "My Lucy gave you her loyalty, right? Well, we're a buy one get one free deal. We stick together." He shrugged his shoulders.
Zeref let out a small chuckle. "Ah, yes. I know who you are. You're the one she's so infatuated with. Very well, swear your loyalty."
He shook his head. "I cannot. My loyalty lies with my Lucy. She chooses what to do with it."
Zeref's lips turned into an evil smirk that forced Laxus to choke back the bile that crawled up his throat. "I see. Follow me." Zeref turned on his heel and led Laxus to a door with two demons on either side of it. One looked like he would rather be anywhere but where he stood, like he had better things to do with his time.
Zeref addressed this demon. "Tempesta, if you would tell her highness that she is to report to the dining hall." Zeref said like the female behind the door was difficult. The other demon looked a lot like Gray, but older and with a scar. Zeref turned to this demon with a slight frown on his face. "Silver, show this dragon slayer to an empty room and have him comfortable."
Laxus furrowed his brows. "Let me see my girl."
Zeref turned to him and raised an eyebrow. "You're making demands?"
"It's all I've asked." He reasoned. He was trying hard to sense Lucy's magical pressure and still he could not find it.
Suddenly the door opened and he found himself locked on the very familiar blonde. He pushed Zeref out of his way and embraced her tightly, not ever planning to let her go. He sank to his knees, pulling her down with him and setting her in his lap.
"Oh god, you're okay. You're okay." He buried his face into her neck and took in her scent. He was pleased to find that it hadn't changed.
She snaked her arms around him and held him just as tightly as she nodded. "Yeah, I'm okay. But… What are you doing here…"
He didn't answer her. He was too scared to tell her anything except what he was feeling. "I love you so damn much, Blondie." He didn't care if the man who took her away from him and his cronies were standing right there. He had all he needed in his arms and she was okay.
He sparked his body and quickly zapped himself and his beloved out of there, but not after he smirked at Zeref and said, "I told you my loyalties lay with Lucy Dreyar."
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. I see what must be done." Zeref clicked his tongue. "Find and kill the dragon slayer."
Soooooo, what do you think? Do you forgive me for not updating for like a week and a half?
Drop me a review, okay?
