* Finally an update! *

Small cries from the newborn filled the bedroom shared by the baby and his tired mother. The sound received an automatic reaction as Olivia pushed herself up and out of bed, to take care of her son's needs.

"My sweet boy." Liv caressed the tiny human in her arms, rocking him slightly. It was funny that after only spending two days together, the infant immediately calmed in his momma's arms; it was like he already knew that she would do anything to protect him. "You probably need to be fed don't you?"

With Judson settled in her arms, Olivia walked into the kitchen and started the coffee, knowing she would need the caffeine. She then moved to the living room, sitting on the couch in order to give her son his next meal. The baby sucked hungrily as she watched him.

When the baby was finished, Olivia burped him and then laid him back in her arms. "Your Grandma is coming to meet you today. She's going to be so happy to see you."

Evelyn had been respectful of Olivia's time in the hospital after giving birth. But Liv knew that the older woman was more than eager to meet her grandson and with no family of her own, Liv also knew how important the relationship between Evelyn and Judson would be. It was also the one piece both women shared of the man they had loved. Judson was all his grandmother would have to remind her of her son. And although, Evelyn had insisted that she would wait until Olivia got really settled before coming over, the new mom had told her that she didn't need to wait and that she wanted her to meet Judson as soon as possible.

Two hours later, the mom and son were back to where they started on the couch, the baby eating once again. Judson was bathed, changed, and dressed in a onsie and matching leggings. And, with a little effort and smart thinking, Olivia was able to move the swing in the bathroom so she could watch Jud sleep while she took a bath and got herself ready. Doing it all alone meant she quickly had to figure out the best ways to get anything done when one hand always had to be open for the baby.

Just as a small burp came from the baby after his feeding, the doorbell to the apartment rang. Olivia got up from the couch and carefully, one-handedly opened the front door.

"Evelyn, come in." Liv stepped aside and allowed the woman to walk in.

Evelyn walked in, setting the gift bag she had brought in and her purse down on the coffee table.

"Please have a seat." Olivia gestured towards the couch with her free hand. Liv joined her and sat down. "Would you like to hold him?"

"Oh please." The grandmother couldn't grab the baby fast enough.

"Oh hi Judson. Hi sweetie." Evelyn gushed at her grandson. He would have her wrapped around his little fingers in no time. "Did you get any sleep your first night at home?"

Liv chuckled at the question, she had been wondering the same thing before she went to bed the previous night. "A little bit, he got up three times, but I was so worried about him that I could barely sleep."

"That's good. Hopefully he keeps it up, makes your nights a whole lot easier." Evelyn ran her fingers across Jud's chubby, soft cheeks. "Why don't you open that up?"

Olivia reached for the gift bag. "You really didn't need to do anything more. You've bought enough, but I do have to thank you for the swing it's already come in handy and I'm pretty Jud likes it."

"Oh hunny, it's the least I can do." Evelyn assured her. "Besides, I know you've had a lot going on lately, I figured you wouldn't have had much time to get everything you needed, so it was my way of helping."

The tissue paper from the bag fell to the floor as Olivia retrieved the contents. The bag was quite large and held plenty of new things for her son. There were more plain onsies, both blue and green, burp rags, a few really cute bandana bibs, something Liv had looked at online earlier, and four more complete outfits. It all was so much and after everything she had accepted from her team too, Liv was feeling really grateful for all the people that cared about her son.

"Thank you so much."

Evelyn nodded in response, but kept her eyes on Judson. Olivia could see a change in the woman since she had walked in now that she had finally met her grandson.

"He already reminds me so much of Brian." There were tears being held back by the grandmother as she spoke.

"I think the same thing." Liv told her.

"He would have been so happy with his name." Evelyn told the new mom. "After you two had talked about it, he told me the next time that we talked how much he loved the name."

Liv chuckled slightly. "That doesn't surprise me; he was so excited when we decided."

There was a pause before Evelyn spoke again. "I know we've never really had the opportunity to have a relationship, but I know you loved my son very much. That means a lot to me, that he had someone who loved him so much when he left us. And I really hope that you are okay with me being a part of Judson's life. He's all I have left of Brian and I would really love to get to be his doting, spoiling grandmother."

"Oh Evelyn." Olivia could feel her emotions all over the place. "I would never want to take any part of Brian from you. I didn't have a mom who really cared for me, but I know how much Brian loved you and how much you meant to him. I want Jud to have family and I think he's lucky to have you and his aunt. And I'd also like to have a relationship with you too. I will probably need more help than I'm willing to admit sometimes, so to have someone with experience would be great."

The two women sat quietly for a little while, both of them watching Judson sleep, his chest rising and falling a comfort to them. Liv found it nice to have someone else in the apartment with her. Although she had only been home one day from the hospital, weeks before that had been spent in silence, all the noise provided by Brian had disappeared.

A small cry from Jud brought both of them out of their thoughts and back to reality.

"It's probably time for me to feed him again." Olivia said.

"Well I'll let you do that then." Evelyn handed the baby back over. "Thank you for letting me see him."

Olivia smiled at her. "Of course. You're welcome over here whenever you want."

"Actually, I was going to ask you, when you feel more comfortable taking him out, maybe be we could go get some lunch and do a little shopping. I know you're probably okay now, but he won't stay that little forever. Eventually he'll need some bigger clothes and there might be some other things you decide you want or need."

"That would be great." Liv said.

When Judson let out a louder cry, Evelyn headed for the door. "You can take care of him now and take care of yourself too sweetheart. Oh and just so you know, there is another delivery on its way, so be on the lookout for that."

"Evelyn…" Olivia was more than appreciative of the grandmother's help, but she couldn't help but feel some guilt. They were both in a rough place with Brian gone and she didn't want to take advantage. "You really don't have to do that."

"It's no problem, I want to do it." Evelyn assured her. "And this I'm sure will come in handy."

After a quick goodbye and more screams from Jud, the older women left and Olivia went into her bedroom to lie down and feed Judson.

Having left her phone on the bedside table while Evelyn was over and knowing that more than likely Nick or Cragen or someone else from the team would be checking in on her, she quickly looked through her messages as Jud feel asleep in her arms. There were messages from both Nick and Amanda asking if she needed anything and one from Cragen saying that he hoped they were getting settled in and he would drop by later with some things. But the messages that caught Olivia's eye were the ones from Barba. There were three text messages and a voicemail from him, all asking that he call her right away.

With the infant now fast asleep, Liv laid him down in the bassinet and immediately called Barba. She knew that if he was texting and calling her the day after she got home from the hospital, whatever he needed to discuss was urgent.

"Barba." He always answered the phone with his last name, just like the cops he worked with.

"Hey sorry I missed your messages and call earlier." Liv said.

"No it's okay, I figured you had your hands full." Barba told her. "I just have something I would really like to discuss with you as soon as possible."

"Is something wrong? Did something happen at the precinct, with one of our cases?"

"Well it does involve one of your team's cases."

"What is it? What case? Barba you're worrying me." Olivia wasn't used to Barba being evasive.

"It's about your case, Liv... It's about Jack Sutton."
