A/N: I am so sorry about the length of these chapters. It's hard not to end at like the perfect cliffhanger and it's getting harder and harder to write this one for personal reasons. Thank you all so much for your support, especially on that last chapter. I'm gonna tell you guys the truth. I got super distracted. I just started college and I'm trying to get the hang of things. And the last week I was sick. So, thank you all for your patience, you wonderful, beautiful people.
Chapter 6
Myde's teal eyes were filled with an aura of shock. The look on his father's face wasn't one of complete hatred. Actually, it was one of guilt. "Dad?" The older man's face softened at the confused tone in his son's voice. "Myde…" He knelt down by his son, grasping his face with both hands, staring into his eyes. "My son…" He barely chocked out, before hugging Myde. His father's tears left splotches on his shirt but at that point, he didn't care. He threw his arms around his dad's neck. "Dad, I-I'm clean now. Please don't be mad at me. I know what I did was wrong… I didn't want to hurt you. Something inside me just sorta… snapped."
Myde was worried. What if his dad hated him? Maybe he didn't deserve forgiveness? His father slowly pulled away, placing his hands on his son's shoulders. "What's done is done, Myde. I forgive you. You have no idea how bad I've felt. I should never have sent you away. I just hope you can forgive me." A smile soon graced Myde's lips, "Of course I will. We've both made mistakes, now all we can do is hope to make amends." As the two of them embraced, a sickening crash of thunder could be heard outside. The power went out in the church and the darkness wasn't just that of the power outage, it was an ominous type of darkness.
Myde looked around frantically for the exit as small, insect-like creatures that seemed to be made out of the same kind of darkness swarmed the church. Myde's father was the first to vanish as the creatures attack and soon, Myde succumbed to the darkness as well.
The next time Myde woke up, it was to being kicked in the side by a boot. His eyes opened as he stared up into one golden colored eye and another eye covered by an eye patch. There was a jagged looking scar on his right cheek. The man's hair was black with gray streaks and tied back into a loose laying ponytail. He was wearing a black trench coat and he smirked down at Myde. "So, you're the new member, huh? Well, welcome to our ranks, new kid."
