Disclaimer: I do not own Demyx or any of Kingdom Hearts.

A/N: Well apparently I didn't save the majority of this that I had done previously. So sorry for the wait. Yay for longer chapters!

Chapter 8

Soon, the meeting was over and everyone had portaled out of the room except for Axel and Demyx. From what he had heard in the meeting, he had gathered three things. One, that he did not have a heart anymore. Two, that because he didn't have a heart, that he could not feel anything anymore. And three, that his mission in life was to help finish Kingdom Hearts.

"Hey, mullet boy, get your head out of the clouds. We're burning daylight here," a voice brought Demyx out of his thoughts and back to reality. The cocky sounding voice came from the redhead known as Axel. "The name's Axel, got it memorized?" Demyx raised an eyebrow at that, did this guy really have a catchphrase? Axel just kept staring at him as if waiting for something; oh, right, probably his name. "I'm Demyx."

Axel tried to suppress to chuckle at the long awaited response, but Demyx still caught the faintest hint of one. "Well, come on then, we got places to be and short amount of time to see them." Axel strode out the door, not even glancing back to see if Demyx was following him. It took his brain a little while to process the fact that he was being left behind. But as soon as he noticed, he kicked into high gear and ran after Axel.

He didn't quite know what to think of the man in front of him. He seemed to be quite full of himself. His whole personality seemed to fill up the room and he had a sense of humor. This was a refreshing change for Demyx, seeing as most of the other members he had met so far were quiet, solemn, and emotionless. Come to think of it, Demyx hadn't even seen any of them crack a smile.

Demyx was so lost in thought that he didn't even notice that Axel had stopped in front of him. He kept along at his pace, ramming into the redhead. Demyx fell to the ground and Axel towered over him, hands on his hips, "Kid, you have to pay attention here or you'll get in some serious trouble. Some of the higher-ups aren't as nice as me. Anyway, that there where we had the meeting, that was the throne room. And here," he gestured to the floor in front of them, "is the gray area. This is where you're going to get your mission assignments."

Axel then opened the door, revealing, in fact, a room that was gray. It resembled a sort of lounge, there were a few couches and some coffee tables but not much else to furnish it. Hearing the clicking of heels, then it turned his attention back to Axel who was once again walking away. He followed quickly, trying to catch up. The next room Axel showed him was the infirmary.

Inside were several metal sets of shelves, all holding various types of medical equipment. There was also a steel operating table in the center of the room. For some reason, this room gave Demyx the heebie-jeebies. He was glad when they moved on to the next room, the kitchen. What he saw wasn't expected in the least. He had hoped to see the hustle and bustle of the busy kitchen, but it was empty. The room looked just as lonely as all the others. And it was that same color gray that Demyx was starting to hate.

It seemed that Axel noticed his disappointment at this, "Is it different than what you were expecting?" He nodded, "I thought be busier, not this empty." "Well, we just kind of eat whenever we feel like it." Demyx nodded once again and followed Axel to the next room on the tour. They walked for what seemed like hours, but in reality it was only five minutes. Soon, they stopped at a set of double doors.

The doors were made of wood, different from all the rest. They were ornately carved all sorts of different kinds of flowers, vines, and quotes. "If you haven't guessed yet, this is the library." Axel turned to walk away but Demyx grabbed his arm, "Aren't we gonna go inside and look?" Axel shook his head, "You can go look on your own time, we need to move on."

He called the redhead for a while until Axel stopped in the middle of the hall. "This is taking forever…" he groaned and then looked back at Demyx, "Do you want to take a portal?" "A what?" Axel brushed a hand through his fiery locks, "A portal. It's like a teleportation thing made of darkness. Xigbar brought you here through one. Should we use it?"

Demyx blinked a couple times, "Uh, sure?" Demyx watched as Axel put out his right hand and, in a few seconds, a sphere of pure darkness appeared. "Head on in." Demyx nodded and walked through, Axel following him. What was waiting for Demyx was a large, empty looking stadium. "This is the arena, we as this place for testing fighting abilities and training." Demyx nodded again, looking around and wondering if this is where he would learn to fight. "This is probably where you'll spend the first few months of your training."

Axel continued on without even looking at Demyx to see if he was following, "The next stop is the last stop on our tour before your room." They used another portal to show up in front of a door that was labeled with a sign that read, 'Lounge'. Axel opened the door and Demyx a few of the members of Organization XIII playing cards, video games, pool, foosball, and pretty much any other game you can think of.

"This is the lounge, this is where most of our members spend their free time after missions." Demyx saw Xigbar, the only one he recognized, arguing with the blonde man, who had a mustache connecting to a beard, about a card game. He looked around at everyone else too and then back at Axel who motioned for him to follow him, "Come on, let's get you back to your room. You've got a big day ahead of you with training tomorrow."
