Loke stared down Matlazz, the wicked priest glowing with a blinding light. Loke took his battle stance, "O Regulus… grant me strength" he chanted, he also then began to glow with a blinding light. "Well well, so you have the powers of light as I do" said Maltazz, "Yes however unlike you I use light for justice as it was meant to be used" said Loke. Maltazz laughed, "What a fool you are, your ideals matter little, all that matters is power" said Maltazz.
Maltazz raised his staff, "Divine Strike" he yelled, and several lightning strikes nearly hit Loke. "You missed" said Loke; he charged at the priest, he swung several punches at Maltazz. Maltazz blocked Loke's punches with his staff; he then shot a beam of light from his hand forcing Loke to retreat. "Come now spirit I expect more from your kind" said Maltazz, "Oh you will get it bastard" said Loke.
Loke charges at Maltazz his fist glowing with divine light. "Regulus Punch" he yells, striking quickly he hits the priest in the stomach. Maltazz is knocked on one knee and sent back, he stood back up quickly. "Impressive, no one has been able to strike me in many decades" said Maltazz, "I'm afraid that is all that you will get though".
Maltazz raised his staff, "Holy Orbs" he shouted, five orbs of light began to circle Loke. Lucy recognized this attack from when Natsu fought Maltazz. "Loke get away from those orbs quick" shouted Lucy, "Right". Loke tried to dodge the orbs but they pursued him relentlessly. "You can't escape my orbs spirit, they will not stop until you receive the Divine Punishment" Maltazz laughed. "If I can't escape them, then I'll destroy them, Regulus Impact" yelled Loke shattering one of orbs. "Impressive indeed, any mortal would have died attempting such a daring move" said Maltazz, "Well I'm no mortal, so your powers won't be able to stop me" said Loke, "Ha, you arrogant fool you have only just seen a fraction of what I can do" said Maltazz.
Meanwhile Erza and Natsu prepared do battle with Hilarius. "Welcome to your nightmare, I'll destroy you both as my master wills it" he said, "What the hell is with this guy, he looks ridiculous" said Natsu. "How dare you call me ridiculous, you will pay for that insult boy" said the mad clown, "Erza go ahead and find Lucy, I'll deal with this freak" said Natsu, "Are you sure" asked Erza, "Yeah I can handle this chump no problem". Erza went ahead and left Natsu to fight Hilarius alone, "Are you prepared to die boy" said Hilarius, "Shut it freak, I'm not dying today, you are" said Natsu. "Fire Dragon Ironfist" yelled Natsu striking the clown, Hilarius stood once more, "Hehe, thank you I'll make great use of that" he said, "What the hell are you talking about" said Natsu, "Fire Dragon Ironfist" yelled the clown striking Natsu in the stomach. "What how did you copy my attack" said Natsu, "That is my power, I use the attacks of my enemies and send it back at them with double the power" said the clown. "Damn that's not good, but I'm not losing to some freak dressed like a clown" said Natsu.
Loke and Maltazz stared each other down, "Well spirit this has been quite the battle but I have a schedule to keep" said Maltazz. Rasing his staff Maltazz began to glow with a blinding light, "Such immense power, I can feel it radiating off of him" said Loki, "Meet your end, Light of Purity" yelled Maltazz, an immense beam of light struck Loke. "Loke" yelled Lucy as he fell to the ground, "What… was that…" said Loke in great pain, "That was power spirit, and now you will perish" said Maltazz. "Lucy… I'm sorry… that I couldn't… protect you", "Now to wipe out form existence, Light of Purity" yelled Maltazz, however before the beam could strike Loke, Lucy had him return Celestial realm. "Loke, I'm sorry I hurt you" said Lucy with a tear, "Here I was looking forward to being the first man to kill a Celestial Spirit" said Maltazz, "You monster you will pay for this" yelled Lucy. "Ha, yell all you want girl, it won't change your fate" said Maltazz, "And soon enough it will be time".
"Well that's all of them" said Gray beating the last of Maltazz's soldiers, "All clear here Gray-sama" said Juvia, "Guys come here quickly" said Wendy. Wendy had found the now ex-Pontifex Silvarius in a prison cell. "Are you okay" said Wendy, "Yes child I'll be fine" he said, "What's going on here" asked Gray. "I fear it's something my people have long feared but never thought it would happen" said Silvarius, "What's that" asked Wendy, "The return of the Black Pontifex" said Silvarius. "Who's the Black Pontifex" asked Gray, "Centuries ago shortly after our people had founded this city a man named Metrophanes was elected Pontifex, he was highly ambitious and wanted to us to abandon our secluded ways".
"Metrophanes wanted our people to build an empire and subjugate the people of the surface, however the rest of the Holy Council refused to endorse such a violent plan and had Metrophanes deposed" said Silvarius, "Anything else" asked Gray, "Yes, enraged over being deposed Metrophanes embraced the powers of darkness and become a wicked sorcerer with great power". "In this newly empowered state he took back control of the city and began a bloody reign of darkness, many perished and it seemed as if he would get his wish to conquer the surface, however the remnants of the Holy Council gathered together and combined there powers in a last ditch attempt to defeat Metrophanes, they weakened him but were unable to defeat him". "So he is still alive then" asked Wendy, "Not technically but his soul is sealed in a chamber deep below the city with a magic barrier that can only be broken with the blood of the prophet", "Wait so are they going to kill Lucy" asked Gray, "If Maltazz is planning to revive the Black Pontifex then it's certainly a possibility" said Silvarius. "We have to stop him" said Wendy, "Right, if this Black Pontifex returns the whole world could be in danger" said Gray, "I can lead you to the chamber where the soul of Metrophanes is sealed, Maltazz is likely holding the prophet there" said Silvarius.
Maltazz paced the floor of the sealed chamber, "Where is Tytos, I must know if those foolish friends of yours have met their demise", "Well your wasting your time, they will stop you and your goons" said Lucy defiantly. "Silence you insolent girl, I could wipe out all of those fools at once if I wanted, you have seen my power you know it's the truth" said Maltazz, "You won't, they will stop you I don't care how powerful you are, Erza would never let you harm me" yelled Lucy. Maltazz cackled evilly, "Live in your delusions then prophet, but soon enough you won't be living at all".
Natsu threw more flaming punches at Hilarius as the clown skillfully dodged them. "Damn it this guy moves quickly" said Natsu, "Oh dragonslayer why do you keep trying you can't defeat me" said Hilarius, "Grr, shut up when my friends are in danger I don't let anyone stand in my way especially not a freaking weirdo like you" yelled Natsu charging at full speed punching Hilarius in the face. The clown knocked down stood back up again, "H-how dare you hit me, that's it boy, I'm going to kill you, I will splatter your blood on these walls" said Hilarius filled with psychotic fury. Hilarius charged at Natsu with full force, copying Natsu's flaming fists and making duplicates of himself, "Die dragonslayer, die" he yelled psychotically, Natsu was hit many times and was knocked to his knees. The clown laughed madly, "See you can't stop me, you can't even tell which of these is the true me", "Your right I can't tell which of you is the real freak" said Natsu, "So I'll just have to hit all of you". "Fire Dragon Wing Attack" yelled Natsu as he enveloped all the duplicates of Hilarius.
"No this can't be" said the clown frightened; Natsu smashed all the duplicates, and knocked Hilarius down. "M-master I have failed you" said Hilarius, Natsu grabbed him by the neck and held him high, "Now you will tell me, where is Lucy and what are you going to do to her" yelled Natsu, "I may have fallen but I'll never reveal anything" said Hilarius. Enfurated Natsu threw him against the wall and punched him as hard as he could in the stomach; he couched up some blood and died there. "Well that's the end of him" said Natsu, "I better find Erza quick who knows what she has found", Natsu ran off without noticing Lyda had been watching him from the shadows.
Tytos reported back to Maltazz in the Sealing Chamber, "Your Holiness grave news", "What is it Tytos", "Lyda has reported that Hilarius is dead at the hands of the pink haired dragonslayer" said Tytos. "What, how can this be" said Maltazz shocked, "I'm not sure your holiness, perhaps he has more power then we first thought", "Hmm, very well then we shall unleash our own dragonslayer, and tell her to show no mercy whatsoever" said Maltazz, "Yes my liege" said Tytos. "One of my Legion of Light beaten, these fools may have some power after all but it won't matter soon, for soon I will be a god among men" said Maltazz laughing evilly.
