I only own my OCs

"LINDSEY!" Rocket screamed from across the table. "Have you been listening to a word I said?!"

"Ugh.. Yeah Rocket." I groaned rubbing my temples. The pounding feeling in my head wasn't new, nor was the churning feeling in my stomach. "I'll do it." I moaned once more leaning back in my chair. "What?" I asked looking at the five pairs of eyes that were staring at me.

"You have no idea what you agreed to do you?" Gamora smirked crossing her arms across her chest.

"Huh?" I hiccuped looking over to Peter who was glaring at Rocket. "Something about sneaking into a party and stealing a map. Right?" I asked rubbing my tummy 'I really need to lay down.'

"You have to whore yourself out to the man who we plan to steal from." Drax laughed loudly from his seat.

"I didn't say it like that!" Growled Rocket. "You just have to keep him occupied while Gamora and Drax it."

"How much is this map worth?" I asked raising my brow towards Rocket.

"A billion units." He grinned.

"I am Groot!" Groot squeaked from the center of the table.

Smiling towards Groot, I gave a small nod towards the group. "We can do this." Looking over towards Peter. "What is your job."

"He's going to st-" Rocket started.

"Stay by your side the whole night." Peter gave me a fake smile. "Like a bodyguard."

"Uh. I don't think that's the best idea." I looked towards Gamora who was thinking the same thing.

"Peter it will be hard for her to get close to this man if you are tailing her the whole time." Gamora stated.

"I will stay at an appropriate distance." Peter nodded standing up from the table, obviously ending the argument. "We need to find you something to wear tonight." He looked over towards me. "It's formal." And with that he took the stairs towards the cockpit.

"Well this will be exciting." Drax laughed, also leaving the table for his courters.

"You will make this fast." I uttered towards Gamora.

"Of course." She nodded standing up. "I have to prepare for tonight." Gamora said standing from her chair. "And I recommend a hot shower. You look rough." She smiled.

"I feel rough." I snorted watching her turn and walk towards the back of the ship. "What's the guy's name?" I asked looking over to Rocket who was messing with the folder of information.

"Uhm. Hm. You're not going to like it." He sighed. "It's Leo."

"Excuse me?" I laughed loudly. "Leo? Leo Kox!? The man that almost killed us over a job?!" I hissed standing up from the table wrapping myself in the blanket I stole from Peters bed. "He's crazy! Who did you even get this job from?"

"Uh... Stark." He answered quietly.

"I am Groot!" Groot said surprised from the piles of paper on the table.

"You idiot!" I scolded walking towards the stairs that lead to the cockpit. "Who better have the room pinpointed on that damn map by the time we land on Suruta!" I spat.

'Now I really want to throw up.'

"Peter?" I asked from the top of the stairs.

"Hm." Peter mumbled from the Captains chair.

He looked stressed... Well more stress than he normally looks. One hand was tapping the arm rest of the chair, and the other was covering his face.

"How about we come up with some code words for tonight." I offered as I walked around to the front of his chair.

"This isn't a game..." Peter growled dragging his hand down his face. "This job is dangerous for you."

"I know." I agreed wrapping his blanket around myself. "But I'm the only one that can do this." I sighed "Leo and I.." I paused turning around to sit on the cushioned bench by Peters music box. "We have a past-"

"Yeah the type of past where he tried to kill you!" Peter yelled sending me a glare from his seat.

"Well he didn't." I added quietly which got me a very dark look. and a low growl. "That's why Gamora can't do this."

"Of course she could." Peter replied getting up from his seat and pacing.

"No she couldn't." I argued as I watched him walk back in forth in the tiny room. "He will come find me, probably before I find him." I continued. Groaning I pulled my legs up bundling in the sheet. I was starting to get dizzy watching him.

"And how is that?" He asked stopping his pacing to stand in front of me. "Rocket said that the invitation list goes into the three-hundreds!" He lectured. "If this guy has some kind of special-"

"He does" I interrupted his rant. "He's a rare kind of species. I don't even think I've seen another like him." Laying down on the bench, I closed my eyes trying to calm my stomach. "Leo. Well he has some scary heightened senses."

"So he can see better than most." Peter scoffed.

"Yes... He can see, hear, and smell better than anybody I've met." I continued "and I'm almost positive that he will remember me." I paused pulling my arms out of the blanket to rub my eyes. "Well my scent." I finished.

"Scent?" Peter stated. "What?!" He snapped.

"Please quiet voice!" I told Peter rubbing my temples. "When Rocket, Groot, and I worked for him he was always telling me he would never forget my scent."

"And you think I'm going to let you do this?!" Peter snarled. "The guy is crazy! What do you think he will do once he smells you out!"

"Ugh. Don't say it like that." I moaned sitting up. "Makes it sound like a smell or something."

"Lindsey! This isn't funny." He yelled but not as loud. "What if something happens-"

"Than it will be my fault!" I yelled back standing up from the bench dropping the blanket. "So you can stop this," I paused trying to think what this was. I know he's being protective, but he really has nothing to worry about. Sighing I turned around to pick my blanket up. "You will be with me the whole night. I won't leave your sight."

"Promise me." Peter whispered. He was close, I could feel his warm breath on my neck. "If things seem to be going south, you have to let me know."

My back was now firmly pressed into his chest. "I promise." I sighed as I side stepped away from him. Turning around I could still see he was having an internal fight with himself. "Nothing will happen. We will get the map, collect the money, go somewhere highly illegal and spend it on girls, and booze." I coughed forcing out the last part.

Sighing he ruffled my hair and walked back to his chair.

"Uh. I'm going to take a nap now" I said staring over at him. "In your bed." I hinted.

He tensed looking over to me, his eyes were dark, like a predator looking at his prey. It only lasted a second before he turned back around waving me off. "Sleep. It's going to be a long night."

Oh he is still pissed. Sighing I turned to walk down the stairs. Hopefully a few hours alone will make him less grumpy before tonight.

"Wake up." I herd Peter mumble as he lightly pushed at my butt.

"I am Groot.." Declared Groot as I felt him burrow deeper under the blankets.

"Yeah what he said." I yawned trying to scoot away from the unwanted hand that was on my bum. "Hands!" I quietly snapped.

Chuckling Peter pulled his hand away, and I replaced it with something light. "If you don't get up, I'm going to get Gamora." I knew Peter had a smirk on his face. Nobody ever wants to be woken up by Gamora.

"Fine!" I moaned throwing the sheets off me and leaning up againsts the wall. "Now if I knew we were exchanging presents, I would of got you something." I smirked holding up the extremely beautiful red silk dress. "Hm, you did rather well."

"Wasn't me." He grunted walking up the stairs to leave his room. "Gamora said the dress will work to keep all the eyes on you."

"Great." I mumbled. "What are you wearing-" I asked Peter but he was already gone. "Guess he's still a bit mad."

"I am Groot." Groot agreed.

"And how did you get down all those stairs? I told you it was dangerous." I nagged getting out of bed to enter the bathroom.

"Okay. This man isn't like any other." I began pointing at the picture on the table. "He is a born predator. He can hear, see, and smell better than any one of us." I sighed pushing my blonde curls to one side. "So we need to stay away from each other till after the party. I don't want to risk him catching your scent." I pointed towards Drax and Gamora, who were both now dressed for the occasion. It took a lot of fighting, and things being broken but Gamora and Peter were finally able to make Drax put a shirt on.

"I've figured out the location of the map." Rocket started pointing at the blueprints. "It's probably going to be guarded since it's his private office." He pulled out a box from under his seat. "Since all the staircases will be guarded I suggest you get in through this window," he pointed towards the back of the house. "It will put you in the west wing hallway of the house."

Gamora and Drax both nodded as they took rope and grapples from the box. "We stay on coms the whole time." Gamora spoke while wrapping the rope around her. "If something goes wrong we need to all know. No leaving anyone behind."

"I can't wear one." I noted smoothing my dress out.

"Yes you are." Peter protested.

"She can't Quill." Rocket sighed. "He'll know."

"It's fine." I waved off his worry. "Remember I'm not leaving your sight." I gave him a reassuring smile.

"Tch." He growled folding is suit clad arms around himself.

"Lindsey once you have Kox in your sights don't let him leave." Rocket continued debriefing us on the mission. "With the amount of people attending this party I'm not all that worried about him finding out." He nodded to Peter "and you keep your distance."

"I'm not going to fuck up okay." Peter scoffed

"Well since I'm well aware of what my job is." I stood up from the table adjusting my dress. "I'm going to finish this." I pointed at all of me.

"You already look very beautiful." Gamora smiled. "I knew that dress was perfect."

I wasn't the girly type to go all out like this, but I must say she was right. The dress was perfect in every way, it was a deep red, full length with a slit all the way up my thigh. It fit my frame perfectly pushing my chest up, and hugging my butt. "I'm sure it will do the job." I nodded to my friends purposely avoiding Peters glare.

"Lindz." I heard Peters voice from his room.

"Almost done." I called from the bathroom. Putting all my focus on not poking myself in the eye, I held my breath as I lightly pulled the black eyeliner across my upper lid. "Nailed it!" I cheered as I dropped the pencil into the sink.

Pulling open the door with a smile, I got a glimpse of Peter fixing his tie. Groaning I sat on the bed to put on my heels. 'God why does he have to look so damn good in everything.' I thought.

"Lindsey." I herd him right in front of me. "I need you to do one thing for me."

"No you don't get a private show." I chuckled as I buckled the strap around my ankle.

"I want you to wear this." He passed me a small knife.

"And where do you expect me to wear that?" I asked raising my brow. "Because if you haven't noticed this dress is skin tight." I stood flattening out the wrinkles.

"I've noticed." Peter smirked stepping up to me. "But it will hide perfectly in your inner thigh."

"If it will make you less grumpy and weird I'll do it." I sighed bending pushing my slit to the side as I attached the blade to my left thigh. "Better?"

"Yes." Peter agreed quietly as he placed one of his hands on my neck. "Remember you let me know if he does anything." His thumb softly rubbed circles behind my ear. "I will always be in your line of sight."

"I know." I sighed as I leaned into his soft touch. "He's not going to hurt me." I looked into his eyes. "And if he try's anything I'll handle it."

Peter gave me a stiff nod as he stared into my eyes. "We should go." He said but neither one of us could move.

"Uh yeah." I agreed looking from his eyes to his lips. I think he noticed also because before I could step away his lips were softly pressed below my ear.

"Let's get this over with." Peter groaned as he lightly squeezed my shoulder and walked up the stairs.

I sighed softly as I followed him up the stairs.

"Lindsey McCoy." I told the guard who was checking the list of guests.

"I'm sorry ma'am, but I don't see your name-" the guard started to say.

"Well if it's not my lovely Lindsey." A deep voice said from the front door. "Let her in you goon." Snapped Leo.

"Kox." I nodded slowly walking up the stairs. Praying that Peter was able to sneak in through the staff entrance.

"Oh please love, no need for last names." He grinned widely holding out his arm. "We are all friends here."

"Of course." I smiled looping my arms with his.

I'm not going to lie. Leo Kox is as handsome as the day he found me starving and homeless. His short brown hair was slicked back, his light brown eyes were aware and closed off.

"My, you are as beautiful as the day you walked onto my ship." Leo said fondly as he guided me through the mass of people.

"I can see you've done well." I grumbled taking in the massive ballroom. The room was littered with people in expensive ball gowns, servants were holding an array of trays with exotic foods. The decorations were all a deep gold and white. All the silverware and plates were even gold.

"Oh this is nothing." He gloated taking a bottle from one of the servants.

Taking the glass I looked around the room not spotting Peter. 'Breath Lindsey. He will be able tell your worried.' I smiled widely at the man. "If you don't mind me asking how did you," I waved my hand around.

"Oh I have my secrets." Leo grinned leaning close to me. "But we will get to that later." He assured pulling me over to a couch that had guards blocking it's view. "I would like to know something."

"Hm?" I choked lightly on the warm liquid I was drinking.

"Why are you here?" Leo smirked has he leaned into the couch and rubbed small circles on my back.

"Uh... Um." I looked around the room. 'Peter. Where are you.' And that's when I saw him. A dark glare pointed at the man next to me. His fists clenching and I clenching, he had the look of a killer. "I ran into Stark." I could feel Leo's hand still on my back. "He said that you've missed me." I lied easily.

"Well." Leo chuckled his hand now returning to the small circles on my back. "That is true. Once you rudely left my ship-"

"You tried to kill me!" I seethed scooting away from him.

"Oh love I wouldn't do that." He scoffed sipping his drink. "I would of punished you." His eyes darkened as he looked at my naked leg. "Probably kill the rodent and burn that tree." He laughed.

"And that's why I left." I growled looking at him.

"Please Lindsey. It's a party lets not fight." He scolded putting an arm around my shoulder.

"Mhm." I agreed finishing off my glass.

"You know you were my favorite." Leo began as he pushed my curls out of my face. "Before you left I truly thought we were in love." He smiled as he traced my face with his thumb.

"That was only you." I rolled my eyes.

"I was going to ask you to marry me." Leo announced.

"You are truly insane!" I growled, softy pushing him off of me. "I hated you! I wanted to kill you multiple times!"

"Those were signs of love." He purred as he scooted closer rubbing his nose in my neck.

"Stop it." I groaned but that's when I felt him freeze and his nails dig into my thigh.

"First my love." Leo growled low as his hand crept in between my thigh to pull out my knife. "This is annoying." He threw it to the table. "You know a knife wouldn't stop me."

"Let go" I growled trying to get away from him.

He smiled widely at me. "That's my feisty Lindsey I've missed." He pulled me roughly into his side. "But the second thing is. Why is that males." He pointed directly at Peter who was already pushing through the group of people. "Scent all over you." This time he frowned as he growled low grabbing my chin. "So I'm going to ask again. What the hell are you doing here McCoy."
