A/N: Oh... my... Goddesses... I am SOOOOOO sorry, my Minish Minions! I just couldn't come up with anything for this story! Well, you gave me however long to do this, and I thank you. I think I know where I want this story to go now.

That's it? Over all that time, just two?

Anyway, that's enough of my ramblings. You guys have waited long enough!

One Year's Eternity
Chapter 30
Saturday, February 8, 11:43 A.M.
Shade, what are you doing?
I was sitting in the front seat of Link's small car, Link, of course, driving. We were following Shade's beat-up Jeep. Ruto, Ms. Sheikah, Saria, Ms. Dragmire, Ms. Dragmire's friend Rauru, and the Goron that I had given my papers to on my first day I was on campus - Darunia - were all behind us. I couldn't help but think that we would look like a funeral procession. Midna had decided to go with Shade and not Link and I. She wanted to talk to him about the prior Twilight Princess, his Midna. She was still flustered about the entire thing; I mean, Shade looked exactly like the Hero of Twilight, sans the black hair and pale skin.
I'm doing my job, Zelda.
What's that mean? I heard Link intervene.
That means that I'm going to do my part in helping you guys.
What's your part? I put in.
Helping you guys understand your weapons. You brought the Master Sword, right?
Yes, mother, Link replied dryly.
This isn't the time to be joking around, Link, Shade called out. You need to learn some things. Now what was that move called again...?
Move? Link asked. It isn't just "swing the damn sword"?
No. Well, for most of the Heroes, it was something like that. But I had a teacher.
The Hero of Time's Shade, Midna stated.
Exactly. After he was sent back in time by his Princess Zelda, he went to Termina to save them from a falling moon. He came back and enrolled as a knight of the Hyrule army. He was a jump above the others, already more experienced fighters than them. In battle, he lost one of his eyes. He eventually became king consort to that Zelda. He was adventuring some time, headed for Kokiri Forest to see Saria and his old friends again, but he became lost in the Woods. His body disappeared, and he became a Stalfos, his spirit needing to pass down his knowledge. That Zelda was devastated, left the kingdom, leaving the throne to her younger brother, to search for Link. She stayed in the Forest for the rest of her life. The saddest part for her was, she was pregnant. The Kokiri left... No one knows, really. Humans came into the forest, changed the name to "Ordon", and lived there as a farming community. That Link and Zelda's child married, that family line eventually coming down to me. The Hero's Shade found me and taught me everything I know.
I thought the book said that the Hero of Twilight didn't talk that much, Link said.
Thanks for the history lesson, though, Midna put in, a sense of admiration in her voice.
Well, I'll shut up if you want me to, Shade retorted.
And with that, the conversation ended.
.
We drove out into Hyrule field to see another car, this time a sand-colored Mustang, was sitting where we were going, not moving. Shade honked at the car, but to no avail. I saw the car door open to reveal a tall, redheaded woman with sharp features.
Nabooru!
"Who said my name?" Nabooru called out.
I opened my door, receiving an odd look from Link. I walked out in front of Shade's Jeep. I looked at Nabooru, and when she saw me, a smirk solidified on her features.
"You again," she said, not rude at all, but kind and welcoming.
"Why are you here, Nabooru?" I asked, confused.
"I've been hearing voices lately..." the woman trailed off, clearly thinking that she was weird and that I would find her insane. "They've been calling out... plans to meet here to practice with weapons... I don't even know."
"Well, Spirit," I saw Ms. Dragmire step up slowly behind me, "I could only guess why."
"Dragmire!" Nabooru's face changed into one of shock.
"Yes, Nabooru, it is me. Just one thing: do you have your scimitar?"
I looked at Ms. Dragmire in shock. Nabooru has a weapon, too?
"Yeah, I brought it." Nabooru walked around to the trunk of her car and grabbed something. At that moment I saw Shade, Midna, Link, and everyone else get out of their cars, weapons in hand: Saria's Deku Stick, Ruto's Water Pearl, Darunia's Fire Hammer, Ms. Sheikah's needles, Rauru's tome, Midna's Shackle, Link's Master Sword, and Shade's sword - which was the same size, shape, and weight as the Master Sword, but didn't have the blue hilt or engraving. Then me.
I didn't have a weapon.
Nabooru grabbed a long, curved scabbard. She pulled out the hilt of the blade to reveal a shining scimitar with embellishments of the hilt and engravings on the blade itself. She held it out, looking ready to fight. Shade walked forward, a challenge in his eyes. Nabooru beckoned him with her free hand, a smirk on her face. Shade grabbed the hilt of his sword over his shoulder in his left hand. He held it out to Nabooru's blade so that they touched.
"Go!" Nabooru called out, ducking down.
Shade jumped into the air to avoid Nabooru's leg that was trying to trip him. Not only did he jump, but perform a perfect backflip. Nabooru growled, and sprinted toward him at full speed, scimitar directed for his head. He jumped out of the way of Nabooru's attack, bringing his sword up to meet hers.
Shade pushed against her blade with his. Nabooru smiled for a second, sliding the curved edge of her blade into Shade's pushing. She twisted her wrist to try and dislodge Shade's sword from his hand. But he backflipped away just in time. Nabooru twisted herself up, turning her torso to gain momentum. Suddenly, she sprung forward, her scimitar encircling her like a sharp tornado, straight to Shade. He didn't run away this time. He brought his sword up to guard his face, then brought it forward to stop Nabooru's blade. She stopped spinning, a look of shock solidifying. He twisted his hilt, making Nabooru's sword fall to the ground. He held the point of his blade up to her neck.
"This," he said, barely winded, "is why we're training."
