Chapter 12 sharing tongues
I curled my tail over my paws as I looked over the nest. It was amazing to watch each apprentice training, every hatchling playing, and every knight and commander sharing stories with one another; all in perfect balance. 'If only Berk worked this way.' I thought to myself. Yesterday was weird, that dragon...he was a nut case. I found myself going deeper into thought . . . until I felt a nudge in my side. I looked over to see Valka smiling softly beside me. I gave her a small bow of my head.
"Quite the scare your flight had yesterday - so I've heard." She said rising a brow.
I nodded my head. "Yeah, no kidding. I'm worried about Hiccup though Valka, he's been skittish since we returned from the border patrol yesterday."
"Has he spoken to you lately?" Valka asked cautiously.
I shook my head slowly. "No, he's been silent, and something tells me that the estranged dragon's words hold some truth. If what that dragon said is the truth, then all we can do is hope and pray that the sky dragons are watching over us."
Valka nodded in agreement. "Hey, isn't that Hiccup down there with the king?"
I looked over to where Valka had pointed, and I nodded. "That's Hiccup alright, and I think he's looking for guidance."

I approached the king and bowed my head respectfully.
:You come to me in a time of concern, do you not Free Spirit ?: The king questioned.
I nodded my head. "I received an Oman, my King." I responded.
He raised a brow at this and gestured me to continue.
"There is a great war coming, blood will be spilt on both sides. Water will become blood before there is peace, and I shall die on Fenrir's stone." I said grimly.
The king was silent for quite some time before responding. :War before peace and water shall turn to blood, such things can baffle the minds of thought's whoever looks deep into such words...it is them that need not see the full picture..: He began. :War will always exist as there are very bad humans and dragons alike such as that rogue monstrous nightmare that you met yesterday morning during border patrol. Peace though is our balance, without war there is no peace to be fought for, and without peace, war is our chaos. Just as water will turn to blood. War holds bloodshed, and pain with the fear of our deaths, water is our life just as the heart gives you blood to live, it is the simple things you must learn to break down in order to see the picture.:
As I sat there before him, I begun to see the picture myself...I found myself beginning to understand the Oman better. This was the destiny that was created from the very beginning, my gift Now made sense now...I am the only one that can create the peace of both man and dragon. I looked back up at the king.
: I see much in you young Freespirit, I know you will become a fine flight commander, as well as a peace keeper.: The king said proudly.
I couldn't help but smile. I bowed to him. "Thank you my king, you've helped me see what I could not, I will uphold my honor to you and perform my duty to create the peace between humans and dragons alike." I said.
: I trust that you will Freespirit.: he said giving a strong nod of his head.
With that said I left the kings presence and flew up to meet my mother and Astrid.

I sighed as I sat in my house...alone. It hasn't been the same since I lost my only son to those retched creatures! Berk has seen better days, food is becoming a challenge to provide for my people, winter is almost upon us and the dragons have left use with very few oppositions and homes. I frowned as I remembered how that dragon had taken my precious Valka away from me and my son. A knock on my door brings me back into reality, I quickly wipe whatever stray tears there are on my face before opening the door.
"Hello chief." John Hofferson said.
"Hello John, please come in." I said as I gestured.
"Thank you chief." He said. "I assume you understand why I'm here?"
I nodded grimly. "To discuss the tension of my son and your daughter."
He nodded and we both took our seats at the table across from one another.
"They both are dragons, and they both took off and the biggest one was that they hid, kept and protected a night fury!" John started.
I nodded. "It is for that reason that I've decided that for what my son has done he will die on Fenrir's stone." I said.
John's eye's winded with shock. "Stoick, that stone is said that it doesn't exist."
I couldn't help but laugh heavily. "Oh it dose but I can't say any more than that."

I gasped as I woke up from a nightmare. Astrid looked up at me.
"It's okay Hiccup, it was just a nightmare... you're safe." Astrid said comforting me.
I settled down beside her again before falling into an unsettling sleep.
