Hey again! Sorry if the chapter is a lot shorter this week. I have no excuses except for that I'm running out of ideas yet again. You guys have been giving me lots of help though! And I thank you guys so much! It means a lot! I've been arguing back and forth with my friend for what I should do, but I'm stuck on this chapter. I guess I'll just cut this one short this week! But anyways, read on!
Magnus woke up the next morning, still in confusion and just simply unknowing of what to do. There have been so many pranks played and yet there are still many left he could do. But he just didn't have a clue on what prank he could do.
He knew Alec's fears, and putting those to his mind he thought of some better ideas. After making a very strange order to a warlock store down town, he went to go pick up the supplies. He order twenty or so crates of a certain fear he knew of Alec's. One of his biggest fears.
When Magnus drove to the warlock store he was greeted by the strange owner as he walked inside the dimly lit room. There were many book cases and shelves filled with questionable and strange items. But occasionally potions warlocks needed to make include some strange ingredients warlocks don't tend to carry with them or own. The owner with bright red hair handed him the twenty big crates that Magnus knew he wouldn't be able to carry back to his place.
With the help of the crazed owner, Magnus loaded the twenty crates in his car and headed to the Institute. When Magnus got close to the Institute he drove near the back of the Institute so he couldn't be spotted by Alec. Magnus quickly loaded each crate through a window of an unoccupied room of the Institute.
Magnus was sweating bullets when he climbed through the window of the Institute. The crates were each at least ten pounds and he had to walk nearly half a mile and back from his car to the window. He made sure not to break any of the crates open, so nothing got out that he would soon regret.
The warlock left the room containing all of the crates and looked around the Institute. He could hear Alec chatting with Tessa in the kitchen and Maryse was in the library, anxiously searching through books.
Magnus headed up to Alec's room in the Institute and brought up five of the crates. He put two in his bathroom and the other three in his room. He unlocked each crate, letting whatever was inside free. Magnus quickly left Alec's room before anything could get out and headed to the next place he planned on putting the other five crates.
Two of the five he had were going in Tessa's room and the other three in Maryse'. Magnus repeated the process he had in Alec's room and in theirs. He got ready to place the last ten in the library like he planned. Unfortunately Maryse was right where Magnus planned on setting up the prank, and he could only wait for her to leave. If he tried to draw her away that would only make them suspicious that he was there. He would place them in the living room but it was a little risky, considering that's probably where Alec and Tessa would be heading soon as well as Maryse.
Magnus waited at least an hour before Maryse left the room. She had three books piled in her arms and she ran to the kitchen to find Alec and Tessa. Magnus quickly grabbed the crates and put them in the library, not being sure if they would come back. Magnus unlocked each crate the quickest he could and fled the library, shutting the doors behind him with a slam.
Magnus flinched at how loud he made the doors slam and headed back to the room in which he came through and sprinted back to his car in the backyard. Luckily his car was hidden behind a big garden of shrubbery and trees. He turned on the ignition of the car and headed out of the Institute in a rush and went back to his flat and made it back safely and somewhat unnoticed.
Tessa stood at the stove of the kitchen and flipped the two eggs that sizzled in the pan over the bright flam. Alec sat at the bar behind her with a closed book in front of him as he fiddled with the cover of the book. They chatted calmly, waiting on Maryse to come back from the library.
Soon after Tessa finished cooking breakfast, Maryse came bustling in the kitchen with three books balanced in her arms.
"Are you okay, mom?" Alec asked, picking up a fork from next to his plate of breakfast.
"I have a good prank idea for you." Maryse exclaimed. "Well, I found an idea for you."
"Mom, I already told you, no." Alec sighed. "I don't want, or need any help. Besides I can't-."
Alec was cut off as a slam sounded into the kitchen from the halls of the Institute. They each looked at each other with wide eyes and rushed up from their seats and headed to the library where the noise sounded from. Alec had pushed his way to the front of his mom and Tessa and busted through the doors of the library.
In the middle of the floor sat ten wooden crates. Maryse closed the door behind them and they three each walked up to the crates. The crates were at least three to four feet high, and Tessa could barely lift one up.
Tessa let out a yelp and dropped the crate to the floor, caused the planks of wood to fall around and expose what is sitting in the crate. When the crate busted into the floor with a thud, hundreds of big spiders and tarantulas spilled out and onto the floor.
Tessa screamed and dramatically dusted off her dress for any of the crawly creatures and walked backwards, causing her to trip and fall on her back. Alec let out a loud scream as well, seeing as his biggest fear was spiders or any eight legged creature. Alec ran away from the scene and jumped onto one of the chairs in the library, refusing to get down.
Maryse, being the least dramatic of the group, walked up the scene of dispersing spiders and picked up one of the tarantulas with her hands. Tessa and Alec let out a gasp of disgust as they watched her with shock.
"They aren't going to hurt you." Maryse let the tarantula crawl from her hand to her arm. "They're friendly."
"Oh my God!" Alec yelled. "Mom, stop!" Alec began to back up while standing on the chair, causing it to fall backwards and land on his back, around a mass of crawling spiders.
Alec let out a shriek of fear and jolted from the place he laid on the floor and ran out of the room, kicking the library doors open and left Maryse and Tessa in the library with a trail of screams behind him.
Tessa and Maryse looked at each other with wide eyes. Alec was racing up the stairs, dusting away at his clothes for any of the tiny crawly creature that may be on him. When he opened the door to his room his heart sank when he saw three similar crates to the ones in the library sitting in the middle of his room.
Alec slowly walked up to the crates and lifted the lid of the crate unwanting. And not to his surprise, there was a pile of spiders in the bottom of the crate. Alec kicked the crate and soon regretted it as the wooden planks all scattered on the floor, letting the spiders run free.
"Shit!" Alec screamed, jumping and dodging the spiders crawling on the floor so he jumped on top his bed. He grabbed the seraph blade on the end table next to the bed and held it in front of him for protection. Alec soon heard giggling from the doorway of his bedroom and looked to see Maryse and Tessa standing there.
"Alec, it's okay." Maryse calmed him. "You'll need to get over this fear eventually." Maryse smiled evilly, holding out one of the tarantulas she had gotten from the library.
"Mom, by the Angel!" Alec swore. "If you come near me with that I swear to the Angel I will stab you with this blade!"
Maryse didn't listen to him and began walking towards him. Alec jumped from where he was standing on the bed and locked himself in his bathroom. Alec slammed the door, locking it with his head resting against the wood of the door. He let out a sigh of relief and lifted his head up, looking around the room, knocks from his mom were sounding through the small tile room as she asked for him to come back out.
Alec was yet nearly given a hear attack when he turned around and saw two crates sitting in front of the shower. Alec backed up against the wall, trying to get the farthest away from the dreaded crates as he could.
His nerves jolted when the top of the crates both moved and the bugs began crawling out of the crate and filling the floor of the bathroom. Alec let out another shriek of terror and jumped on the toilet, getting his feet away from the floor where the bugs swarmed.
"Damn you Magnus!" Alec screamed as the last piece of tiled floor was covered with the spiders. There was nowhere to step unless he wanted the bugs to crawl up his leg. The white tiled floors were completely covered with spiders.
Alec then noticed a tarantula crawling up his jeaned leg.
He let out another scream, jumping to the shower and undoing his pants and throwing them to the ground as his leg was beginning to crawl with spiders. He quickly switched on the shower, causing any bugs on him to drown or run off before they could. Alec's clothes were soaked with water, but he didn't care as long as the spiders were gone.
Maryse had then busted down the door of Alec's bathroom and jumped when the entire floor of spiders filed out of the door and into his room. Her eyes widened when she saw Alec, He was soaking wet in his sweatshirt and had no pants. The bathtub was beginning to flood over with water.
"He's really going to pay for this." Alec stated as he turned off the water and stomped out of the bathroom in anger.
