- How are we supposed to drop this thing if we can't even see it? – One of the soldiers asked.

- Shut up and keep moving! – Chris yelled before anyone could say anything more.

- It wasn't too hard to decide where to go, because as the snake dragged the soldier he left a blood trail after him. We went from room to room until we reached the stairs and descended into the lower floor, but there was still no sign of the soldier or the snake.

- Reid! – Keatton yelled out. – Reid! – Suddenly the snake appeared from the ceiling and snatched away the other soldier. – Let him go you piece of shit! – We started shooting, but the snake turned invisible and disappeared once again. We ran outside and saw how the building was being destroyed by an invisible force.

- I found it! – Marco yelled out. – It's making its way downstairs! Repeat, it's headed downstairs!

- You're not getting away you sneaky sack of shit. – I mumbled angrily, because this snake really got on my nerves. We reached the balcony and tied a rope to it in order to get down. Once we got down we continued looking for a way to get even lower and fair enough we saw a destroyed elevator, but its cables were still intact. Each of us grabbed a cable and started slowly descending. Unfortunately, the snake appeared and snatched one of the soldiers, slamming the cables with us on them into the wall in the process.

I groaned in pain as I stood up from the floor. The pain in my back returned.

- You okay, kid? – I heard a voice next to me. I looked up to see Marco.

- Yeah, I'm fine. – I answered him.

- Everyone, report in! – I heard Chris' voice in the earpiece.

- Piers here. I'm on the third floor. – Inwardly, I let out a sigh of relief. But this didn't last because a slithering noise caught my attention.

- Captain! – I heard Marco speak up as I looked around with my weapon ready, trying to understand where that noise was coming from. – I can't find Jeff. He's gone!

- Get a hold of yourself, Marco! – Chris ordered. Where are you?

- Second floor! And I've got the kid with me! Oh, shit! I think that thing's here!

- Target is on the second floor! You all need to come here, now! – Chris ordered.

- Come on, we shouldn't stay at one place. – I said. – Let's go meet up with the others.

- You're right. Let's go.

And so we started moving through the second floor, hoping to meet Chris and the others. Suddenly I heard someone yell.

- Captain. – Marco reported. – I can hear Jeff. That's him screaming! I'm coming, man! Just hang on! – Right after this, Marco ran in the direction of the screams.

- No, Marco, wait! – I yelled after him.

- Marco, don't move! – I heard Chris' voice in my ear. – Hold your position! Do you hear me? That's an order!

I ran after Marco. I grabbed him by the back of his vest and pulled him back.

- What the fuck do you think you're doing?! – I yelled at him. – Do you want to end up like the rest of the soldiers that were killed by that creature?!

Before Marco could say anything, we heard a slithering noise and were knocked through a door by the snake.

- Minnie! Marco! – I heard a voice say above me. I looked up to see Piers kneeling beside me, helping me up.

- It's inside. – I said motioning towards the door we just fell through.

- OK, we find that piece of shit and we put it down – fast and hard! – Chris said as we ran after the snake. We reached a hole that was made by the snake when it tried to run away from us.

Once we jumped down the hole, we were greeted by the body of a BSAA soldier.

- Jeff! – Marco yelled as he kneeled next to his friend.

- Poor bastard. – Piers said sadness audible in his voice.

Not wasting any more time, we proceeded. We've entered what looked to be like butchery, because there were pigs hanged on hooks.

- Where are you, you son of a bitch? – Piers said as he looked around the room with his weapon ready. We looked around but didn't see anything. Suddenly I felt something wet on my shoulder. I looked down and saw some sort of slime dripping on my shoulder.

- What the…

- Ceiling! – Piers yelled as he aimed his gun above my head. I looked up to see the snake above me with its jaws open, ready to grab me. The snake darted at me, but luckily I was able to get out of its way before it could get its teeth into my flesh. I aimed my weapon and saw the snake reveal itself.

- About time you showed your ugly face. – Chris said.

We started shooting at the creature, but it was difficult as it often became invisible. However, even though the body was see-through, when the snake opened its jaws, the mouth was clearly visible.

- Aim for the mouth! – I yelled out.

- The others did as I said and a few minutes later the creature ran away through a ventilation shaft.

- I think it went through there, Captain. – Marco said, pointing to the ventilation hole.

Surely enough we had to get on our knees and crawl into the shaft. It was a rather unpleasant trip because of all the slime that was left after the snake went through here. Once out of the shaft we were in a different room. We didn't really have time to look around because the giant B.O.W. attacked us at once. It wrapped itself around Chris' body and started crushing him.

- Chris! – I yelled out as I took out my knife and rammed it into the flesh of the snake. Instantly it let go of Chris.

Once Chris was free everyone took their positions and started shooting at the snake. About 10 minutes later we were still trying to kill it.

- Die, you sack of shit! – Chris yelled out.

- Eat this, you good for nothing pile of slime. – I said as I threw a grenade towards it. I hoped it would kill the bastard, but it just made the snake run away from us through a metal door. – Not again. – I mumbled.

- After it! – Chris ordered and we obeyed. We took a ladder up and ran where the snake had just gone.

We were outside when the B.O.W. appeared and knocked Piers and Chris down into a lower floor.

- Chris, Piers, watch out! – I yelled as I saw the snake coming their way. We started shooting at it but the bullets would jump off its skin.

- Its hide has toughened up or something! – Piers said. – Our weapons aren't doing anything!

- Then we have to find something that will! – Chris retorted.

I looked around and saw a lot of electrical cables around, some of them hovered over route that the snake was making while trying to attack the two soldiers.

- Chris! Try using electricity; there should be a switch on the other side!

Chris pulled the switch just as I told him, but the discharge knocked out the plug.

- Marco, Minnie! – Chris yelled. – Power this thing up!

- I'm on it! – Marco said as he plugged the machine in and received the discharge himself.

- Oh, God. Marco, are you OK? – I kneeled next to him, but made sure that I didn't touch him, just in case I might get electrocuted myself.

- I'm fine, kid, don't worry. – He answered. – How are they doing? – I looked up just in time to see how Chris electrocuted the B.O.W. and it fell to the ground, dead.

- We did it. – I told Marco. – We fried that son of a bitch, Marco.

We waited for Chris and Piers and helped them both back up.

- Well, at least we got it. – Piers said relieved.

- But no Ada, yet. – Chris answered. – I'm not gonna rest until we have her head on a stick.

We once again got back to the building and made our way through it, looking for Ada.

- This is crazy! – Piers told Chris. – It's not safe in here. We need to pull out, Captain!

Before any of us could say anything more, we heard Marco whine in pain. We turned around to see a dart in his neck and Ada, sitting on a window sill, aiming her gun at Marco, the same blue dress and red scarf whipping in the wind.

- Looking for me, sweethearts? – She said not even looking at us. – Welcome to China. – And with that she jumped out the window.

- Ada! – Chris yelled, but before he could do anything more, Marco burst out into flames the same way Finn did all those months ago.

- Oh, no. – I said horrified as memories came back.

Once the flames went out, Marco turned into one of those cocoons. Piers reacted quickly and aimed his gun at it.

- Wait! – Chris tried to stop him.

- We've got no choice – we have to kill him! – Piers answered. – He'd do the same for us.

While they were arguing the cocoon hatched and a swarm of insects flew out of it. I readied my weapon and started shooting at them. It took us some time to kill all of them, because it was hard to aim at something so small. But once we did, the cocoon crumbled, leaving only an explosive – the only thing that showed that this was once Marco. Chris slammed his fist to the ground out of frustration but took the explosives. He put them on the door and blew them open. We went through the newly opened passage.

Chris was walking first, while Piers and I stayed a bit further back from him. Out of nowhere, Chris slammed his fist into a wall.

- Chris, we need to stay calm. – I told him.

- After what she's done to us? – He asked looking at me. – How many of our men are dead because of that bitch!

- I'm right there with you, Captain, but your personal vendetta isn't gonna get us anywhere. – Piers cut in. – If you hadn't been blinded by vengeance, we could have prevented some of those deaths.

- Shut up. – Chris turned away from him.

- Do you even care about our mission anymore? – Piers continued.

- Shut up.

- Do you even care about Minnie? Because your previous behavior with her sure as hell didn't show it.

- SHUT UP! – Chris yelled out. Sure, I was pissed because of how Chris treated me, and I had to agree with everything that Piers had just said, but he shouldn't have mentioned me to Chris. Chris and I are more than just comrades in battle. We're practically family, and family is a topic you shouldn't touch in situations like this. Although, I have to admit, it's nice to know that Piers cares about me, even though we didn't start off quite good.

- I feel sorry for all the men that died believing in you! – After this Piers' phrase my eyes widened. By now, both of the soldiers were in front of one another, just inches away. And after what Piers had just said, it was obvious that everything was leading to a fight. And I was right, because Chris grabbed Piers by the shoulders and pushed him into a wall.

- Chris, stop it! – I said sternly as I stood next to the men. But at this moment I was being ignored by both of them, because Piers pushed Chris back and now they were both clinging to one another's shoulders.

- What happened to the legendary Chris Redfield, huh? What happened to you?! It's a good thing Finn's not around to see you this way, and it's a shame that Minnie is.

Chris looked Piers straight in the eyes, then turned his eyes at me and then back to the soldier in front of him. He pushed Piers away from him and kept his distance.

- I'm going to find Ada. – Chris said and walked away to report to HQ.

- We can't leave him, Piers. – I whispered to the sniper. He put his hands on my shoulders gently.

- I know and I won't. But I want you to leave. It's getting too dangerous. – He out one of his hands on my cheek. – I don't want you to get hurt.

- And miss all the fun? No way, pup. – I winked at him and he smiled at me.

- HQ, this is Alpha Leader. – Chris said. – I need a location on Ada Wong.

- I'm going with you. – Piers told Chris. The Captain turned around and looked a bit stunned.

- Yeah, me too. – I said. – Someone's gotta keep an eye on you.

- Whether you want them to or not. – Piers added. Chris didn't say anything, just walked away and both Piers and I followed him.
