Chapter 18
After Juvia defeated Jura, the rest of the event just flew by. Juvia was able to take out Zorra by putting her into a water lock when she was using her lightening, but since the lightening was targeting her, Juvia had to be part of the water, so it ended in a tie. Ray and Erza then met each other and used up all of their magical power while fighting. The only one left standing was the male red knight who only used a sword the whole time.

When Juvia and Rufus both came back, they were both congratulated. The first Juvia did was get a pat on the back from Lucy and then she got a hug from Rogue. Lucy had to do a fake cough to tell them that it was becoming an awkward hug. Rogue and Juvia both blushed a deep shape of red after separating. They all laughed at that, but during the whole event, except when Juvia was fighting obviously, she watching that male red knight who only used a sword. She just kept getting this weird feeling from him, but she shrugged it off.
"Now that the event is over, it's time for our matches." said Chapati.
The matches that took place earlier were between Lamia Scale and Blue Pegasus, then Quatro Cerberus and Mermaid Heel, finally it was Black Knights and Saitan's Light.
"Our final tag-team match of the day is Sting and Rogue vs. Gajeel and Natsu." Yajima announced. The crowd roared for excitement because they all remember the great fight from last year.
"Good luck Sting." Lucy said sincerely, hugging Sting from behind. He blushed and nodded his head.
"Do your best too Rogue." Juvia said as she also hugged Rogue.
He blushed while looking away. Then they both left for the arena. All four dragon slayers entered at the same time. You could actually feel the tense pressure coming from them outside of the ring. Both sides could hear their team cheering for them.
"You know, last time we fought, I could take you guys on myself." Natsu said.
"Well this time is different." said Sting.
"We're fighting for something other than ourselves." Rogue added.
Lucy and Juvia both knew what they meant and smiled at that. After saying those words, both Sting and Rogue charged at Natsu and Gajeel. And unlike last time, Fairy Tail's team was now on the ropes. Lucy and Juvia knew why they are now both stronger than they used to be, because this time they're fighting for people they care about, not themselves. After a few minutes of roughing up Natsu and Gajeel, Sting and Rogue pulled away from them and were about ready to finish it by using dragon force.
"D-dammit! How did their strength increase so much?!" Natsu mentally shouted.
That's when he looked up to see Lucy and Juvia watching Sting and Rogue with genuine smiles of happiness. Not the kind of smiles he saw them wear on their faced back in Fairy Tail for a long time. Not since they were being ignored by their former family, by Fairy Tail.
"...I see. That's the difference." Natsu whispered with a sad smile as he looked at the ground. As he did, he didn't notice Sting and Rogue preparing their unison raid.
"HOLY SHADOW DRAGON'S FLASH FANG!" they shouted in unison.
A bright light stream mixed with darkness was shot right at Gajeel and Natsu. They were unable to move out of the way, so a giant explosion was created right where they stood. It created a blinding light and much dust and wind. Once it all died down and the arena was clear, Natsu and Gajeel were lying on the ground, unconscious and covered in cuts and scrapes while Sting and Rogue were both standing with triumphant smiles.
"Unbelievable! The twin dragons have just beaten the two dragon slayers of Fairy Tail!" Chapati cheered.
The crowd went into an uproar of cheering which caused the entire arena to shake. Lucy and Juvia were both hugging each other tightly as they both squealed for joy for Sting and Rogue's victory. Rufus was also smiling for them. When Sting and Rogue came back to their stands, both Lucy and Juvia rushed towards them. Lucy wrapped her arms around Sting's waist while Juvia did the same with Rogue. Neither of them let go until Sting and Rogue were blue in the face.
"And that ends the third day of the Grand Magic Games." said Yajima.
*Lucy's dream*
She saw herself on her knees on the edge of a cliff. Tears were streaming down her face. She could see herself yelling out something with arm stretched out towards the bottom of the cliff. Her eyes full of sadness, tears coming to no end.
Lucy quickly shot up from her bed, gasping and covered in sweat. Lucy looked over to the other side of the room to see she didn't wake up her room mate, Sting. She looked at the clock to see it was only 4:00 A.M. So, she quietly crept to the bathroom to get ready for the day, since there was no chance she would get back to sleep. When she got into the bathroom, the first thing she saw her reflection showing her in her gray tank-top and red sweat pants, her messy hair...and tear marks. She guessed she must've been crying like in her dream. After fixing her hair, she went out to the balcony to stare at the stars alone again.
"I have a feeling I'm gonna fight some one powerful today." Lucy murmured to her self. As she looked out to the horizon, Lucy began to remember the dream she had. Soon, a sad smile came across her face.
"That day still haunts me." Lucy thought.
The dream she had apparently wasn't just fantasy. It was a day in her past, before she even came to Fairy Tail. She lifted her head back to look up to the stars and let the wind hit her. She opened her eyes and put them back on the horizon.
"I think I'll be able to keep my promise soon...Ryu..." Lucy said with a single tear run down her cheek.
