Chapter 19
*Flash back*
It had been a whole month since Lucy had left her home and her Father. At the moment, Lucy was walking through a small town that had a blanket of snow and it was still snowing. She was walking around wearing a coat that was mid-thigh length, black leggings, and a purple scarf. As she was walking, she looked to the right side of the road and saw a very sad sight. A young boy who looked at least 5 years younger than her curled up in a ball, only wearing baggy shorts and rags wrapped around his ankles.(A/N: His hair style is like Zeref's except it was bright sky blue color and he had more bangs in his eyes and his hair was slightly longer.) So, Lucy knelt down and wrapped her scarf around the boy's neck and put the umbrella above him, which got him to look up. His eyes were a beautiful shade of ruby.
"Hi. I'm Lucy. Need some help?" Lucy said with a smile.
And from that point on, the two began to travel with each other. She learned that the boy's name was Ryu and he had lost his entire family at a very young age, along with the fact that he wanted to be the world's greatest magic-using swordsman. They both learned more and more about each other as they traveled. Lucy bought him some new clothes, but no matter what, he would never take of the scarf Lucy gave to him. After running into a few bandits, Ryu finally had two swords to use to master two swords style and become a swordsman. He was still deciding on what magic to use. The two of them always had each other's backs, and they even promised each other that they when they both fight the strongest people in Fiore, or at least to them, they would win and that they wouldn't leave the other's side until that happened.
But one day when they were both camping out in the forest and when Lucy walking through the forest alone, she ran into three dark mage wizards. She could tell by their aura that they were out to kill. Lucy was determined to keep them away from camp and Ryu, so she fought them on her own using her whip and the few spirits she had at the time. After awhile, she was able to take out at least two of them and was also able to lead them further away from the camp, but she still had one to deal with and she was on a cliff edge. Lucy was now completely drained and her right arm was most likely broken and the mage was about to finish her because lightening began to surround his hand and skies darkened. But right before he could strike Lucy down, Ryu suddenly rushed through the trees and tackled the man, causing both of them to fly a few feet over right as lightening came down from the sky and struck their exact spot.
Once all of the smoke had cleared out of the area where Lucy was still on her knees on the ground, what she saw was truly horrible in her eyes. The entire edge of the cliff was gone, along with the evil mage and Ryu. Lucy quickly moved to edge where the cliff once was and was on her knees looking to the bottom. She could've even see the ground below and since Ryu was only a boy, she could only assume the worse. She slowly put her hand over her mouth as tears began to form and fall. She then broke down and cried out in pain in misery. Lucy hadn't felt so much sadness since her mom died. She reached out to the open air below and continuously called out his name, begging for him to answer, but to no avail. Soon, she stopped shouting and just stayed on her knees at that exact spot and cried for at least a solid 15 minutes. Once she was done, she went back to camp and put her broken arm in a sling. Before heading out to the next town, she created a memorial for Ryu at the cliff edge. She knelt down and placed one rose by the grave site and said one thing.
"I'll keep our promise for the both of us. I won't waste the life you gave me."
*Back to the present time*
At the moment, all of the guild teams are at the games, waiting for the first match to start after the first event was over which was only the MPF, which ended with Lamia Scale on top because of Jura. Also, the guest at the games today was Jason from sorcerer weekly.
Saitan's Lights points: 62
Saber Tooth points: 56
Black Knights points: 45
Fairy Tail points: 37
Lamia Scale points: 35
Mermaid Heel points: 32
Blue Pegasus points: 26
Quatro Cerberus points: 13
"Ok, the first match for today is going to be Saitan's Light red male knight vs. Saber Tooth's Lucy." Chapati announced.
"A mysterious knight and an awesomely skilled wizard! So cool!" Jason cheered. The crowd was also excited about this match up. The knight that was chosen was the one who only used a sword. Lucy was now wearing a dark blue turtle neck and white jeans that stopped at her knees, other than that, she looked the same as usual. They both walked out to field and waited only meters away from each other.
"You know, I have no plans of losing." said Lucy.
"That makes two of us." the red knight said.
"You may begin. Kabo." said Mato. Once that was heard, the knight took out sword.
"HELL'S MAGIC: DAGGERS!" Lucy chanted.
Two blades of black magical light formed on her fists. The two then ran towards each other. When he would swing his sword, Lucy would either dodge or block the sword with her daggers and whenever she tried to slash him, he would do the same things she would. That pattern continued for a few minutes, until the two finally pushed away from each other. Lucy had only a few deep cuts on her arms and was breathing heavily while the knight looked perfectly fine.
"You are more skilled than I expected." said the knight.
"Same goes for you." said Lucy. Then, the knight took out another sword that she had not seen before, which surprised her.
"So, you use two sword style." Lucy said.
"That is correct. One day, I will be known by everyone around the world." the knight said. Hearing that made Lucy tighten her fists and cause her anger to rise.
"You...You think you'll be the world's greatest swordsman?" Lucy asked or growled.
"Indeed." the knight nodded.
The blades in Lucy's hands disappeared, then two sword like blades were created instead. When Lucy looked at him, it was with pure hate and anger. She then got into a fighting stance with her new swords in hand.
"There's no way that's gonna happen!" Lucy shouted with venom in her voice. She then charged at him and their swords clashed. The two continued at that rate, but the knight obviously had the upper hand. Lucy soon was covered in cuts and bruises
"Why do you try so hard, even though you know it's pointless?" asked the knight as the two of them were face to face with their swords against each other.
"Fighting is never pointless! And besides, I made promises that I'm gonna keep!" said Lucy as she pushed him back.
She then continued to swing her two swords down repeatedly at a fast rate which seemed to be able to catch off balance. Soon enough Lucy was able to send at least one of his swords out of his hands, which left him wide open for a quick moment. Lucy took that chance and sent a powerful punch at his face. It made direct contact with his mask that shielded his face which began to fall apart, piece by piece. He began to lose his balance by stumbling backwards, so Lucy made the two blades disappear and then tackled him. She was on her knees as she sat on top of him and had both of his hands pinned down over his head.
"I win!" Lucy declared as she was about to send a punch at his face.
As she said that, the rest of his mask came off. Lucy was about to hit him, but when she saw his face, her eyes widen and she stopped her fist right before it made contact. Lucy quickly jumped off him and was practically trembling.
"N-no...I-it can't be..." Lucy choked out. The knight she was looking at began to sit up, so his face came into better view. Lucy was then sure of who he was.
"Ryu...?" whispered Lucy.
