Chapter 21
*SLASH*
That sound rang through out the arena and it was clear to see what happened. Right before Ryu could take Lucy's hand, she was attacked from behind and was sent flying to the right side. She hit the ground a few times before skidding to a stop just before hitting the wall.
"Lucy!" Ryu cried.
"Ow, d-damn it. What just..." Lucy said as she began to push herself off of the ground, but she would regret because a sharp pain hit her in the left.
"GAH!" shouted Lucy.
She placed her hand on the place of the pain. When she felt that spot, her eyes shrunk when she saw a deep gash wound that was bleeding continuously. That portion of her clothing was soon stain by blood.
"Wh-what the...What happened...?" Lucy said weakly. After saying that, she coughed up a good amount of blood.
"LUCY!" all of her friends cried.
"Sh-shoot..." Lucy grunted.
She grabbed the lower half of her shirt and ripped it off, revealing her stomach and the wound. Lucy then surrounded her hand in red water which stood for fire. Lucy pressed her hand against the wound and the water spread around that area, which caused pain to immediately shoot through her body.
"Ah!" Lucy wailed.
"That's fire water, Lucy! What are you doing!?" shouted Juvia.
Lucy ignored her friend's frantic yelling and continued to use the fire water. After a few more minutes of pain, Lucy removed her hand along with the rest of the water. The wound had stopped bleeding, but the way Lucy did it left a large burn mark on her side. Her skin was a pale pink color and it looked raw. Lucy was then able to get up by using the wall to support herself.
"Alright, now that the wounds sealed, who did that?" said Lucy, looking back to where she was previously standing. There, she saw all the members of Saitan's Light, excluding Ryu, standing in between her and where she was previously standing.
"Oh dear! Saitan's Light is ganging up on Lucy!" Chapati announced.
"Just like Raven Tail from last year's competition." said Yajima.
"That's not cool!" Jason added.
"So, you were able to survive that even though I made that deep of a cut." said Zorra with a random dagger in hand.
The other knights then took off their all of their helmets as well. The earth magic user had pale brown hair and emerald green eyes. The air magic user had burnt orange hair and pitch black hair. The other female knight had bright red hair and silver colored eyes.
"You were right Lady Akuma, she must be the one." said the air user.
"Of course I was right Chiki." said Akuma coldly.
"Th-the one? What are you talking about?" Lucy called out. Before speaking, Akuma gave her dagger to Chiki began and she began talking.
"You see dear, the guild Saitan's Light's main goal is to resurrect Saitan himself. A demon even stronger than any of Zeref's demons and who will reborn the world anew. But you see, we're missing a special magic to do that." said Akuma.
"Resurrect someone? Does she mean the R-system? That was destroyed a long time ago so that can't be it." Lucy thought. Lucy was about to ask more about it when suddenly, she felt something wrap around her ankles. When she looked down, she saw earth chains wrapped around her ankles. Lucy tried to break free, but it was no good.
"Don't bother dear. When Ruki uses earth magic, it becomes as strong as steel." Akuma said.
"Lady Akuma, wait!" Ryu shouted after getting up.
"Yes, Ryu?" said Akuma.
"All of this talk about resurrecting Saitan, that can't possibly be the truth!" Ryu said.
"Oh right. We told you a different story when we found you." said Akuma.
"What do you mean found him!? And what lies did you tell him?!" Lucy shouted in anger since Akuma was talking rudely to Ryu.
"Well, I see no harm in explain everything to the two of you." said Akuma.
*Flashback*
Akuma was walking through a forest near a cliff side when the skies suddenly darkened and there was a loud explosion erupted not too far away from her position. Akuma went in the direction of the sound. When she arrived, she saw a surprising sight. A grown man and a child under rubble. The man was crushed, so he was obviously dead, but the boy was alive. He was wearing a white long sleeve V-neck and a purple scarf. He was struggling to get out of the rubble that was covering him from the waist down.
"He's going to die soon if he doesn't escape" Akuma mumbled.
She then could've sworn she heard yelling coming down the cliff side, but she couldn't see who was yelling. She thought she was imagining it, but the child then began to struggle even more once he heard the echoing screaming.
"She's...she's calling me...I...I have to..." the boy said.
That meant someone really was yelling down the cliff. Akuma could see that the boy had much unlocked potential that could be useful in her quest for Saitan, so she took this opportunity and walked to the boy and got on one knee to be close to eye level.
"You'll die if you stay here, so I'll save you. Only if vow your loyalty to me and swear to do my bidding." Akuma said.
"A-and...will I be able to...see her again...?" he asked weakly.
"Of course. You have my word." said Akuma, smiling evilly inside.
After that, she placed him under a spell on him that made him forget everything about his past except the promise he made with Akuma. It also shoved out all of his emotions. Later on, she had him join Saitan's Light and told him that it was just an ordinary guild, when the guild was actually formed to track down the one thing that could resurrect Saitan.
"So to sum it up, I merely saw the potential in this young boy and made it so he had no such weaknesses as emotions or memories. It also made it easier for him to keep his promise to me while my guild searched for the key to Saitan, which took some blood shed. And now, it's standing before us." Akuma said, gesturing to Lucy. Once Akuma finished talking, Ryu's face was pale and he fell to his knees, trembling.
"So...all this time...I was just...hunting down my friend...? Lucy...I'm so sorry." Ryu choked out on the brink of tears. Over where Lucy was standing, she was admitting an evil aura. Lucy's fists were now in fists, her bangs cast a shadow over eyes, she was gritting her teeth and was trembling. But not in fear, in anger.
"You...you bastard. You lied to my friend, you made him hurt innocent people, and...you took him away from me!" Lucy growled. The chains around her ankles began to crack just because of the magic power she was giving off.
"Yep, she's definitely the one we're after." said Ruki.
"That must be the power we're after." Chiki added.
"Ruki, just shut up and deal with her." ordered Akuma.
Ruki simply nodded and began to use his magic with his hands gesturing towards Lucy. She was caught off guard at the moment, so Lucy didn't see what would happen next coming. A slim spike of earth came out of the ground and pierced her through her right side. She coughed up some blood and screaming in pain.
"AH!" Lucy screamed. The spike then fell apart and Lucy quickly fell to her knees, holding her side and coughing up blood.
"Lucy!" her friends cried again.
"Lady Akuma! Please, stop this!" Ryu begged, grabbing the said person's arm.
"You are no longer part of us, boy. So unless you want to die, stay out of out way!" Akuma said while forcefully pulling her arm, causing Ryu to fall back in the process.
Meanwhile, Ruki was still using his magic on Lucy, who was still on her knees. Ruki created a tiny pillar that curved as it came out of the ground and nailed Lucy squarly on the left shoulder and sent her rolling more into the center of the arena. She stopped rolling and just laid on her stomach with a pool of blood forming.
"Lucy!" Ryu cried. He was about to get up to help her, but Zorra place her foot on his back, pinning him to the ground.
"Sorry kid, but we don't need any more interferences." said Zorra with a smirk.
"Ryu!" Lucy mentally shouted. Her eyes were full of hatred when she looked upon the other knights.
"Those bas-" Lucy began to curse, but out of nowhere, a massive hole opened under her. Her eyes shrunk and her face paled. Lucy then fell into the hole like a rock in water and what was worse was she couldn't see the bottom as she fell.
"Lucy no!" Ryu shouted, pointlessly struggling to escape from Zorra. Her friends of Saber Tooth were all having the same reaction. Lucy was injured, so there was no way she would have enough magic to create her wings again.
"Heh. When she hits rock bottom, we'll retrieve the body. Along with the special magic inside of her." said Akuma.
"Special magic!? What are you talking about?" said Ryu.
"You should know. You fought against that magic." Chiki said.
Right after that was said, a pillar of dark light erupted out of the whole. And along with the light, so did Lucy, but this time, her eyes were glowing a pitch black color and she now had dragon-like demon wings. She also had a fierce, murderous look on her face. After the light vanished, Lucy landed on the edge of the hole, still having her glowing eyes and wings.
"You're all dead!" Lucy hissed in a deeper, more murderous voice.
"No! She's using that spell!" Makarov exclaimed.
"Lucy don't!" cried Mavis. But all of their cries were in vain, because Lucy was now consumed by anger.
"HELL'S TRANFORMATION: DEMON!"
